The powder that was super shiny was the NYX High Glass Finishing Powder. It is the shiniest finishing powder I've ever tried, and kinda reminds me of the Essence Pure Nude highlighter.

those are both super shimmery powders!!! I’ve definitely tried both in videos, I think the XX revolution one was the most recent that turned me into tin man but I decluttered it I think! 😂
One that was like straight highlighter for me was the Laura Mercier light catcher translucent setting powder 😔

Soph !!! I warm up the fenty match stick on the back of my hand and dip my brush into my hand and then onto faces!!! I do it that way because I’m a makeup artist & can’t drag the contour sticks onto peoples skin, but i find that contour sticks ALL stick or leave those placement marks if you put it directly onto the skin!!! probably why you like it for your nose because it’s a much more precise line !!! I’d hold onto them for sure & keep trying different techniques, i love them!!!
& in terms of wasting - it honestly is such a small amount each time!!! I’ve had the sticks for so long, they last foreverrrrr

Same! The only place I use directly on skin is nose. For the rest I apply it first on a brush.
@@sophdoeslife FWIW, this is also the way the Fenty resident makeup artist recommends using the match stix... well, actually, all makeup. She says it's best in general to warm makeup up on the back of your hands before applying to the face - you'll get a better blend and that "melted into your skin" look with a lot less effort. (So if you still have that About Face eyeshadow stick that was "dry" and dragging, try warming it up on the back of your hand and then applying it.)

I agree and so many others do!! Bring back the OG superstay foundation!! After maybelline did this I was terrified when L'oreal updated their freshwear to 32hours with vitamen C but thankfully the L'oreal foundation looks, wears and everything is the same. The only difference I have noticed is that my skin looks brighter and clearer when I take my makeup off at the end of the day which is obviously awesome!!
My makeup hate is when brands have an epic product that everyone loves then discontinue it.... with no replacement, nothing!!
This video was so nice! Sometimes products just don't work out and nobody should feel bad about it, even if it's their favorite brand
My technique with fenty contour stick is to apply it lightly in dots, not drawing lines on your face, otherwise you’re likely to lift the foundation underneath. It blends nicely with fenty face shaping brush, but don’t be harsh cause its pretty dense and you can easily mess up the foundation by dragging or applying too much pressure. Less is more kinda product, being slow and gentle really helps!

With matte foundations the formula is water based so using an oil based moisturiser underneath it will cause the pilling, as oil and water don’t mix.
This foundation comes into it own if you use a water based moisturiser.
Not the greatest for very dry skin but it stops the products working against each other.
I know these are products ones you hate but the look is very 80's which I'm not going to lie, kind of vibing. I've seen a few TH-camrs doing decade looks. 1920's-2000's. Would love to see your take on that. I'd love to see you create a few 90's looks. You give me Baby Spice Vibes. 💝💝

Completely with you on the Maybelline 30hr Superstay........the OG was so good. An absolute staple of my routine.....then they changed the formula and I bought one bottle and never purchased again. Applies so badly it's crazy!!
The Revolution mascara gets so much better after being open for some time. Its one of my fav mascaras of all time

Hey Soph, one thing I found that works best for me when using contour stick is: Warm it up on the back of your hand, put a good bit of product on the back of your hand. Then dip your brush into the product on your hand. This helps me blend it much easier as I am not great at doing my own products. It allows you to build up the colour easily!
I've heard from few make up artists on tt that with the fenty beauty match sticks, you're "supposed" to warm it up on the back of your hand, then take a brush and dip the brush into the product you have on the back of your hand, then directly apply it where you want it, it's "supposed" to be melting right into the foundation
I had exactly the same experience with the Superstay foundation. Absolutely loved the original and I wore it with a FFP3 respirator all through covid (ICU nurse) and it never looked horrible. The new one just separates and goes patchy and will not blend no matter what I do or use underneath it, and I wouldn’t even chance wearing it for a long shift at work 😖

Yep happens to all of us I cannot stand the Coty airspun loose face powder that everyone Raves about! Makes me look so wrinkly and creasy and I cannot stand the smell of it yet my mom has used it her entire life and swears by it
I think it’s good for people who wear super heavy thick full coverage makeup. I remember when my mom used it when I was a kid and it came in cardboard packaging not the acrylic.
I did not like the Sky High mascara. I was so disappointed because I wanted to love it. The OG Lash Sensational is my all time favorite mascara. The only thing I’ll use the Sky High for is my bottom lashes. It clumps my top lashes together so bad and I’ve given it multiple tries.
SAME! I hate that mascara, I really tried to love it since it looked so good on so many people but for me it does nothing. Gives me zero volume and just a little bit of length. I also love the OG Lash Sensational.

i quite like the foundation, usually i apply it in sections and it doesnt tend to cling to anywhere, i let my foundation dry down and then apply my setting powder. (i prefer a drier look to my makeup) but you could use a dewy setting spray and it would look quite pretty! i also avoid my under eyes completely and let the concealer do its job. its also quite buildable for me. shame it doesnt work for you soph!
Omg I have the same issue with the new superstay formula 😭. I swapped to fit me and it just works so much better for me.
The absolute best long wearing liquid liner I’ve ever tried is by Profusion Cosmetics, the Everlasting liner. It only comes in black, but my oh my so easy to get a fantastic thin line, super precise and lasts all day long! And no one talks about them!x
The old Kylie formula was nasty! It was crumbly and thick but I love her new formula it’s thin and matte but doesn’t crumble and go funny
I like this video idea! Another idea: maybe testen products/trends that were sooo populair a few years back and are now nowhere to be seen. For example: I still use the ABH brow pomade from when it was suuuper hyped and populair, but i haven't seen it been used bij influencers in aaages
girl I ADORE the fenty match stix to contour!! Butttt if you apply it onto your face it won’t move & go patchy so I apply the contour onto my brush & I love it! It stays all day & I find it looks more natural that way & I also feel I have more control over the placement xx
The one product I tried that people LOVE is the l'oreal telescopic mascara. It was the clumpiest mascara ever i hated it so much i couldn't get through the whole thing and threw it out (and I never do that, I usually force myself because, money). I don't know why people love it or why it didn't work for me.

Aww that is too bad! It is literally the only mascara I use. I find it works so much better when the formula dries a bit.

I tried the Rev 5D Lash Mascara and had the same reaction. I just didn't love it. Like, at all. It worked because i use falsies whenever i do makeup, but it for sure doesn't give a "false Lash effect".
You have to warm up the match stix before using them! That’s what the Fenty page says
But if you warm it up on the back of your hand, can’t you just pick it up with a brush from the hand? I haven’t used this product but it seems logical, so you don’t waste the product
@@EllRoseForever It's a bit hard to because its a creamy matte but if you spray some fix plus on your hand and then pick it up with a sponge and dab it on it could work? Generally speaking though, mine has lasted ages. Over a year now.

I was really disappointed with the KVD Go big or go home mascara, found it just smudged through out the day! Also not makeup, but I really don’t like the Fenty moisturiser, anything I put on my face after that just balls up
The ELF halo glow powder is my favorite, albeit I haven’t purchased any high end loose powders. I had tried a Flower Beauty loose powder years ago and it was somehow both totally glittery/shimmery and also dry as heck!

With fenty match sticks - get your sponge and put product directly on the contour stick and then apply to your face works so much better
A product i was really excited for but ended up not liking was the E.L.F camo liquid blush. Idk if it’s just me but I have googled and asked my stepmom no matter what I do it is really patchy on me.
I bought the L’Oreal paradise tinted water cream thing because I saw that you loved it but I just can’t get on with it. It does apply with a sponge, it separates and is just awful on my skin. Can’t make it work but so wanted to love it because you do. You should do a video of giving products my followers hate a second chance or something! X

I love the Kylie Lip Kits so much. It holds the whole day without retouching and it looks soooo goooood. I got many compliments when I wore it
I'm not sure if somebody already said that, but the best way to apply any creme bronzer in a stick (and this specifically) is just to take a little bit on a brush and pat pat pat on the face... berfectly blends, no harsh lines
I use in every day and I'm happy with the results
(the same technique but with the sponge doesnt work though)
Maybelline superstay lipstick is the best long wear ever...all day wear. Bare minerals foundation works wonders too. Too faced eyeshadows are super creamy and blend able! 🌹🌻
On that scar you can put a calendula cream. It’s very good for healing and preventing formation of scars.
I absolutely dislike the Charlotte tilbury pillow talk lipstick, their concealer and Charlotte's Beautiful Skin Foundation such a waste of money

@@aligreenwood the lipstick is over hyped and there is not much of pigmentation plus it doesn’t last long but a lipstick of 5 bucks does even better job, the concealer you barley get any product for 30 euro and it takes ages to get some of the product out and once it’s out you can’t put it back and the coverage is bare to minimum and the beautiful skin foundation deoxidises a lot and is not a nice product like her other foundation airbrush flawless foundation.
I don’t like the pillow talk lipstick either. I don’t mind the formula but the color is not for me
I really like the shade of the Pillow Talk lipstick, but you're right. In the end there are cheaper lipsticks that do a better job. But I do like the "luxurious" feeling of the Pillow Talk lipstick. Feels kind of like applying butter and Iove the smell. Not worth the money though of course haha :')
I guess lipstick is different for everyone. Even on my lips some lipsticks sometimes work whereas sometimes they just don’t. Very weird.
That revolution highlighter reminds me of my experience every time I tried the maybelline instant age rewind concealer. Every time I tried to dispense the product it would either never come out, or gush all at once and it would never apply nicely 😫
So true. I personally hate the p.Louise eye bases - they work horribly on my oily lids! Yet everyone seems to love their bases 🙈 things just work differently for different people and that’s okay 😊

The best mascara I've tried is one by essence its called Lash Princess curle and volume mascara, many people on tiktok were saying they wouldn't get it but it works great gives great volume and length.
Those fenty matchstix break me out!! The shimmer sticks are okay, but those contour sticks completely break me out. I always used to apply it directly, but now if I ever use them I would put it on my fingers and tap it on. I don’t want to have a stick that breaks me out though! I want it to be amazing with all the options we have now and how expensive it is

For the match sticks I always paint it on my brush and that is the best way to use it. Then it’s easier to control where you want the pigment, I do the same with stick/ cream blushes
Soph I think the setting powder that you tested a while ago that was glittery was the xx revolution loose setting powder? could be wrong but as a huge fan of your vids I think it was that ❤
Add a drop of face oil on the back of your hand and swirl your brush in it before going in with the contour stick. It helps a lot with the blending ❤

Put the blush in a container and mix it with a little bit of powder and it won't be sticky no more trust me I've done it multiple times and it comes out perfectly
I can never get stick bronzers/contours to blend out when I apply it directly to my face. I always put it on my brush first, then onto my face. Thats how I apply the fenty match sticks

Yep I bought the Sky High mascara on recommendations from friends and basically everyone on TikTok and I just don't care for it at all! I feel it does basically nothing except make my lashes look a bit darker. It also feels like it weighs them down and makes them look shorter!
The fenty matchstix have been reformulated and are much creamier now 😊

I feel like everyone and their mum was raving about the Milk Hydro Grip primer. My skin is very normal and I don’t really have any issue with any formula. Except for this one. I hate the Milk Hydro Grip primer so much, and whenever I’ve tried it, it has absolutely ruined my base
You need to try the Kylie lip blush's! I'm also not a fan of kylie lip products except the glosses but I tried the lip blush formula after a good review from another influencer and I loved it so much, I've got it in 3 colours now 😅😬 💛🧡
I used to always have problems with mascaras, no matter what I tried they just didn't look as good on me as on friend/youtuber/ad. I tried drugstore, high-end, curling, lengthening and volumising, but it'd always just be a disappointment. Then I tried waterproof mascara because I heard it keeps a curl better and my make-up game changed instantly, turns out it's pretty easy to have long, voluminous lashes WHEN they curl properly.

With contour sticks I find it easier to get the product onto a dense brush before hand and then pat it into my skin...maybe that will help with the blend of the Fenty 🥰

For the kylie lip kits, you should put only a tiny bit of lip balm, use the lip liner in the entire lip and them the lipstick on top

The Elf HD loose powder in the EXACT packaging, has specks of glitter in it. I bought it thinking it was Halo Glow and I wondered how people liked it. Recently, I realized it was the wrong one!!

Hi Soph! Long time fan here but I rarely comment... I actually don't like the sky high mascara! Which is funny because I usually really enjoy everything you recommend. But I cannot seem to make this mascara work for me - I like the formula but the wand is somehow making me so clumsy and painting on my lid by accident - every time!!! I think it's the shape of the eye 😅.

Love these kinds of videos leave the mascara open for a big let it thicken up or put some translucent powder on the brush then put it bk in some mascaras are better after a few weeks
I love the sky high mascara but hated L’Oréal last paradise which most people seem to love. It’s really interesting how some products work for well for some people but are rubbish for others.
I’ve seen people say to only line the outside of your lips with the lip liner (I’m not sure if you did or not it just looked like it) because putting more on is why it feels sticky
