my 7 yr old caught his first fish today on a trout magnet. He was just saying how bad he sucks at fishing and was upset because he got no bites and then BOOM!!! Landed 3 trout in 45 minutes and now he says he's a fishing god lol. Now I have to drive to Colorado River tonight so we can be in water before sunrise. I've never seen him so excited. Best bonding ever

What is the difference between the trout magnet kit and the pan fish magnet kit?? Only difference I see is the color .. my local dicks didn't have trout magnet kit so I bought the panfish magnet kit Will that work for trout?
Yes, however the hook in the Panfish kit has a longer shank than the original Trout Magnet jig head. The colors in the panfish kit are the ones we feel work best for panfish, but they also work well for trout.
Need a TM between the TM and the Mini.Mostly in diameter.A jighead with a #12 hook ,#10 at most.The TM jighead hook is too big anyway.Most buy jigheads from third party and trim TM

This is my favorite way to fish. Even on days when the bass bite is on fire, I'll switch to an UL rod and TMs just to get some gills.
It's definitely become my 'go to'. Tipped with a Nikko Caddisfly... can't be beat!

Only the mini magnets work for me,or a # ten hook jig with the trout magnet cut down

The bluegill just tear the rear legs off my trout magnet after about 30 hits
If they short strike, you can trim a couple segments off the top which will move your hook point further back which should help with more hook ups.
