There are only a few 🎵things that I've gotten excited about since it's launch in 2017! #1 Korg Kronos LS! #2 Propellerhead Reason 9.5(VST support)! & The MPC X! Thank you KORG for making this board!!!! 😍
I cannot understand for a second why Korg did not make a 73 or 76 note version of the Kronos LS! It seems to me that a lighter touxh or synth style keybed would be ideal for a 6 octave instrument. If there was one, I would jump on it! After all the 88 key LS weighs less than the 6 octave piano weighted Kronos! A 73 or 76 key LS would be a superb giggable choice or for someone without a huge studio. The 61 key version is not quite enough for an instrument with this versatility and the piano options. The old roland XP80 had synth style keys, 76 of them and was quite light for instance. Oh I do wish I had bought one of those when new!
Korg aren't stupid, I guess they did their market research before finalising the spec on the this. I'm guessing that they found that most people don't require aftertouch. Surprising really as it's a deal-breaker for me. I couldn't be without it. For touring, this would have been an ideal replacement for my heavy 88key Triton Studio that I use along with my 61 key Kronos. Korg, would adding aftertouch really have added that much cost to this top-end keyboard?
It has aftertouch, but you have to set in manually, every time, for each sound, of course you can save the sound with all the parameters including "aftertouch" setings ... :) I think so. I tried it once and it worked ... I'll try again and get back to you:)) Just in case ...
Yes, there is aftertouch on Korg Kronos 2 ... There are 8 different levels of sensitivity, but as i said you have to "manually" set it on each sound, when, how strong etc ...
That's interesting! If the 61 key Kronos is good enough Adam Wakeman then it's good enough for me! The son of the great Rick, whose 1973 album I' listening to right now. The one that made him leave Yes! No Kronos on that double LP! I like light action keyboards. Most pianos I don't like except our old upright at home that is too light for most pianists probably but perfect for me.
This Kronos has a Waterfall keybed, it is an organ keybed and they don't have aftertouch. If aftertouch matters so badly buy any one of the many other Kronos which do have it!
Pls make a 73 version waterfall key with after touch that i can store in car booth. Pls the pitch bend on top. Vox continential 73 is the right size. too bad, is not a kronos.
Dear artists, do you know any other sounds besides the pianos and the organs? Dear Korg, why does all the demos of Kronos, a workstation with a huge style range, make the instrument position itself as only a "tradition" oriented? Perhaps it makes sense to invite not only the old rockers and jazzmen for presentations, but also people with more modern views on music?
They should do another one of these but with Triton users trying a Kronos for the first time.it be like damn... 16 years later and these keyboards still play the same damn sounds.
The only thing I do NOT LIKE about the KRONOS LS is the SUPER BRIGHT LED LIGHTS that are on the TOP end of the BUTTONS and they are super bright white lights that if you are playing in a darkened scene with out FULL LIGHTS SHINNING down on the keyboard you won't be able to see anything. THOSE LIGHTS should have had a way to turn them down or OFF. TO BRIGHT. Its really making me frustrated because I cannot use it in the dark. Only solution is to have a 2 tier keyboard set up and put led strip lights on the bottom of the top keyboard and have light shine down on top of the KRONOS LS 88. Does any body else find these super bright led lights a problem ???? I have heard from several people already that agree KORG should have made it to where we have full control over the BRIGHTNESS of those LED LIGHTs. But they said you cannot do any thing to them>. ONLY THE SCREEN is allowed to be dimmed.
I'm not usually one for piling on the pissing and moaning, but yeah, for the PRICE, this thing is a fail for not having aftertouch. I have the Kronos 61 (which I love), and when I heard about this, I was button click away from upgrading until I saw "no aftertouch". No point in having a keybed so much better suited for synths and organs, at a "not cheap" price, and then no aftertouch. I'm really curious who made that call at Korg. I think I'd find them another job.
rhizospere, i compleatly disagre as most synthasists would, its the total reverse its esential to have a. t. on a synth and not neccecery on a piano, on a synth you need to be able to get a nice a.t. vibrato, which you never need on a piano [ would sound awfull ], your thinking backwards mate, well thats mho, and i own the kronos 2 with the latest firmware uptate with quike split/layer feature.cheers. carl
“The key shape seems easier to play”. Groping for positive things to say to justify his payment from Korg. So who here has suffered “fatigue” from playing a weighted keyboard? Really?
for 30min propably no one. For 3-4 hours...think again. When touring weight is a problem, now you can have full scale keyboard at almost the same weight as the 61 version. Too bad people say it doesnt have aftertouch but on the other hand i see myself using it instead of the regular 61 i have (i didnt get the 88 cause of the weighted keys, they almost doubled the weight of the 61 version)
Add me to the list of players who comes from an organ background rather than piano. I can (and do) play a semi-weighted keyboard in my project studio, but given the option, give me a waterfall keyboard like this any day - especially for a 3+ hour gig.
Blake Henry I used to make the mistake of judging a keyboard based on videos and stock sounds. This keyboard is light years ahead of what you have. I do agree the musician makes a big difference but the capabilities that you have with this is amazing
I had the 01/Wfd and it was so lo-fi😂. It didn’t even have filter resonance, or any realtime controls, just lots of empty panel space to cook pancakes on. The Kronos is like a Bugatti Veyron in comparison. I could not have even imagined such a powerful and lush synth back in the day.

Holly shit, I love the Kronos.

no aftertouch - unbelievable how Korg could do that
what is this? I am planning buying one LS.
@SunTai my korg kronos2 has after touch. happy with that!
Impresionánte! Yo soy usuario de KORG tengo un Korg versión 1, me encánta amigos.. Saludos desde #ARGENTINA

We're talking about the Kronos LS here, not the Kronos 2.
aha, ok. That's a different story ...
Yamaha and Roland is nothing compared to this black beast
Authentic and a statement in time...wannahave.
Only a fool would criticise this keyboard.. This is just legendary..

Aftertouch is a must!
WHY do you have to have it
This Kronos has a Waterfall keybed, it is an organ keybed and they don't have aftertouch. If aftertouch matters so badly buy any one of the many other Kronos which do have it!
The best instrument ever made.

So what is the general review? Kronos vs Montage 8? Which is better?
kronos
have you made any Korg Kronos LS. in 73 or 76 keys?
Im selling my Kronos 2 88key and might go to this, how is the action compared to the Montage???????????
alphasxsignal the action on the Yamaha Montage is more heavy than on the Kronos LS. Unless you compare it to the Kronos 2 original version. Peace out!
has it have Karma ?
rockin🥈🥇🏅🏅🎈🎉
More Jem Godfrey please
Yeaahhhh ! He's a killer !

Korg should Fucus on its keybed quality.
I just ordered my new KORG KRONOS LS from VINCE @ Hammond organ WORLD. got a deal of a lifetime.

Couldn’t pay me enough to pretend like I like playing acoustic piano on organ keys.
you'd rather pretend like you're playing it on the real thing, right?
@@eightrice I'd prefer weighted keys.
If its the 88 key version it certainly is not light will take two to carry unless very strong
Watch the video again....It's light!

No aftertouch, is that seriously true?!😖
Also this keyed would surely be more suited to 73 or 76 keys.
The LS has only 88 key version..? Which is very disappointing ..!!!
Um, the other versions dont have weighted keys I believe
Actually work stations are the answer. Not computers! But the price is ridiculous! It's 2017 korg!peace Christo
I don't understand the second guy.......... oh man
yes, but no aftertouch
onde é que estão os sons de guitarra?
i honestly don't know why people NEED aftertouch.

for people like me who are rubish at useing a bender to get vibrato ! . cheers. carl.
@@wakerickman learn how to use a mod wheel then lol
After 05:47 there's no more playing for Mr. Godfrey. Keys just fell apart. Nice ad trick, money well spent.

Boris Chang I play real-time drums on the keys and it's really tiring with weighted keys

I don't care about what those artists have to say, no aftertouch = FAIL
I don't see huge difference in sound between THIS and my 22 years old 01W..... MUSICIAN makes a difference not new aftertouch and another gimmicks...
Blake Henry you are clearly not listening. Do you still have a computer from the early 90's? Duh!
Blake Henry I used to make the mistake of judging a keyboard based on videos and stock sounds. This keyboard is light years ahead of what you have. I do agree the musician makes a big difference but the capabilities that you have with this is amazing
Me either when I'm home listen to it on TH-cam. So, I head to the store to listen to every keyboard. For me, this key got the best sound ever.

Too much talking!
