Reassembling and setting preloads on a row crop steering box of a 1964 Ford 4000 tractor. Steering Box removing in teardown video #5 • Ford 4000 Teardown day 5
Thanks for making these videos, I know editing and camera setup take a lot of your time. As a mechanic I enjoy them a lot. I dont know why but I love watching other mechanics work 😂. Maybe I'll buy a ford tractor myself and do a restoration, thanks to your videos, i have a guide in case I get stuck
Thanks for the comment. Editing does take a long time. I spend hours on the videos since I have to cut out a lot of fluff to make a short but detailed video. I too watch other mechanics and farmers on TH-cam. Dont really watch network TV anymore. These tractors are fun to restore. This is my 3rd one. Wished I would've filmed the other two.
When bleeding the power steering system how do you bleed the steering gear ? I have a 57 power master 801 Ford I can’t find anything. My steering goes back and forth on its own .
Once tractor is running all you should have to do to bleed system is turn the steering full lock to full lock a few time and all the air should bleed out.
@@Angrytoddler that's what it sounds like. If swapping the lines around doesn't fix it then I'd say something is the valve body is incorrect. Been years since I had one apart so I can't remember what they look like inside. Keep in mind that on those tractors one cylinder will extend and one will retract when turning.
👍👍👍👍 10,000 Times. Us non-machanal folks appreciate your dedication to give us the confidence to tackle such a project. GOD BLESS .
Thanks. I try to be technical but put it in terms that most people can understand. The service manuals can leave some stuff questionable.

What would cause feed back uncontrollable feedback
@@Angrytoddler what do you mean by uncontrollable feedback? Is it hard to turn? Does the steering wheel rip out of your hand? Or something else?
If I pull one way it will rip it all the way to the opposite side and same if pulled the other way . Can cylinder lines be flip flop
