Everything felt so good back in the day: exotic bounties, first time seing xur and not understanding WTF he was selling, the first raids, countless deaths on skolas, srl, the oryx ship, exotic Swords, secrets in daily missions like the soul of cropta, klaxons... What a great Era it was
When Xur came in week 2 selling gjallahorn I said nah I’d rather save my strange coins. I never got it to drop since then😭.

This game was LITERALLY the shit
one of the best games/community of people I’ve experience in my life. I’m so glad to live when this game came out
Destiny 1 has a soul. You can feel it in the design and art direction.
- Strike specific loot, customizable scopes.
- Rare exotics
- Horror Sci-fi was a better theme imo for destiny.
- Actual progression and incentive to chase endgame loot.
- Much better immersion with: the lighting / environmental sounds and no overdose of music everywhere you go / the armor designs / faction system / better detailed maps and replayable missions on the map. All small or big details add up to build the immersion. It felt like we were part of the game.
- A game designed for gamers and not casuals.
- At it's core the game was not design to waist players time like in d2. Some old gen consoles limitations but destiny 2 makes you run around doing nothing just to do something useless.
- So many secrets, so many. Like the all the ghosts to find. I liked finding them all and in trials if an opponent had high grimoire you knew he was good.

Fun fact: D1 Sunbreaker Titan subclass was added with Taken King expansion. Probably the most feared super in PVP at launch.🤣

The simplicity of it all makes this so nostalgic. Unlocking perks on your armor and weapons most perks weren't even that crazy like adding zoom to golden gun was an exotic. I forgot how quickly you could get your super in PvP, and chaining supers with your teammates and farming orbs. I would love to be able to go back and relive this time period in my life. So many good memories
Some of best years of gaming for me personally, from d1 launch and all those years playing, meeting new people, everything was such a good feeling.
The main screen music is so nostalgic I had so much fun coming home from school and getting on this game everyday I really missed those times

Destiny 1 OG was simply the greatest game ever created the community the grind the weapons the raids the friends and friendships that we formed will be incredibly hard to duplicate it was a masterpiece and it was majestic and magical at the same time. I loved that game.
Armor (in general), tower exotics feeling rare, lighting, eververse (its less) and raid shaders in d1 > d2
Destiny 2 is like a prettier car than d1 with a worse engine under the hood.
@@Skm00nyes, but also no. What would be more correct is that D2 has a bigger and more powerful engine, but in turn runs out of gas significantly faster (more content, but worse for the long run due to it being boring).

I recently came back to replay the campaign + DLCs. A couple of times a year the memories just hit me hard and I have to go back. Listen to the soundtrack, playing the old stuff, thinking back of the first raid, the first lighthouse visit or the great milestone that goes by the name of Taken King.
Seeing you guys coming back as well and making videos about D1 shows me that we all share the same great memories we will most likely tell our grand-children about when we will be old 🥲

One of my favorite things about destiny 1 is being able to see what everyone got on the rewards screens it was nice getting an exotic in crucible and knowing everyone hated me.
ZK don’t forget when you did SRL you would get crucible ranking and advance your crucible ranking.

@@astralfries8409 It’s not nostalgia. D2 sold out when Bungie decided to remove 90% of the original game so they could continue their shitty, repetitive, and lackluster live service game. Destiny 1 holds strong and true to its players - new, old, returning, and everything in-between. D2 threw all of that away for money.

I havent played destiny 2 in a long long time. Somehow got recommended this. D1 just hit. I got goosebump.
Oh the memories. That ding after your kill another Guardian was always my fave sound in Crucible. Do not forget when the special ammo nerf happened, all you saw were snipers with Ice Breaker. 😂 When you mentioned camping at the back of a map during a Nightfall, that was the tactic cause unlike in D2 (except in GrandMaster) Once your fireteam died it was straight back to orbit.
Ahh I’m really jealous that you guys feel the nostalgia for the Destiny soundtrack. I do to a certain extent but Halo is the game that brings me to tears when I hear the right piece of music. I think we can all agree that video games are like no other medium though.

First game I bought on my brand new console. Spent DAYS absorbing the lore and the game design and amazing locations. Absolutely fantastic
Man the nostalgia… I remember when trials of Osiris was released and my god did I sweat the holy hell out of it. Going flawless every weekend on all 3 characters. And the raids are just A1 in D1. Wish I could go back to those days!
the only armour that will come close to looking as good as D1 cost you $15+ D2 just doesn't have the same feel to it, i never felt the real urge to rush home and play like D1 or wake up early to play Trails
d2 is soulless in comparison. Just look at them pvp maps, the lighting and detail was so much nicer back then.

The Oryx Raid and VoG were by far the most fun I've ever had playing a video game. Its one of the only times in my adult life I've had nostalgia.
literally grew up on this game from the moment I was in sixth or seventh grade! 21 now n just looking back D1 was just so special, every new update every new thing felt so thought out n was the quests were always so fun to do, I still like D2 but something abt D1 just felt so soulful, the details were always beautiful and it was very accessible for new players always, will always cherish this first game
I remember getting bailed out of jail at like 3am and going home and instantly loading this up and playing so happy to be out of jail.. good times
Just commenting to say I massively preferred this type of video to most of your others. It's not that your others are worse, It's just the no facecam, funny cuts of your deaths and less sweaty style gameplay added to the entertainment. Thank you for this!

No matter how you cut it, D1 is the Definitive destiny experience, something D2 hasn’t had for a very long time.

That strike you did as the Nightfall was effing BRUTAL when it first came out bc everyone was under leveled. I distinctly remember hating it at the time bc those tanks and the final boss would melt you lol. Remember the cheese strat of hiding under the stairs at the final boss? Good times

Dude Destiny 1 will never be overthrown by Destiny 2. I like D2 but eventually gave up on it. D1 I played that every day. I did raids all my dailies, weekly raids, trials, comp, etc. D1 was one of the best times I had gaming. Oh how I miss those days.
I’ve started playing Destiny 1 again, back in an old character of mine, a Hunter. Even backtracking through the rest of the missions. It’s pretty fun.
this was the best version of destiny! something about staying up till 4 in the morning completing my outbreak prime quest :D
Something to keep in mind that you neglected to mention is that when you go when you start as a new player, it takes you to the shop shows you what’s in it tells you there’s a gas around the corner and then it never fucking bothers you again because back in the day Mondaywasn’t bungees entire purpose
That was was so good. I remember facing and beating real krafty on that map in trials back in the day and doing sniper only (all three weapon slots) flawless runs. The game was so good. The start of the end for me was when they increased the base zoom in on snipers.
I really really hope d3 goes back to this mythical mystery scifi horror vibe, the music alone envokes hope for a brighter future. D2 just feels like a war instead of universe filled with mystery.

not knowing who has super or who used super after hearing the sound made trails so much fun. Super regen in trails wasnt nerfed so you could have it in the second/third round almost every time.
It was definitely an awesome game. Really fun to go back and do all the moments of triumph stuff. That armor was fire, too

I wish the D2 maps would have the same lighting from D1. So many maps feel like you're staring into the fucking sun at certain angles.

I rememebe when i was 14 and my friends at school for me into this game months before taken king came out. I was sich a noob, i was so confused why they got mad at me when i fot vex ang Ghallahorn befor they did, and they had rhe game months befor me. I did manage rlto experience the OP ness of borh those weapons in pve and pvp befor the nerf in taken king. Coming home from school and pulling all nighters with them playing this was the most fun moments in my life ever. This game is easly my favorte game of all time. Also, Black Hammer till this day is still my favorite gun ever in video game history. The fact you were rewarded with basicallyy infire ammo if you had good aim made it broken and take some skill at the same time. Im 23 now and no game since D1 caused me to no life as hard as i did. It was almost like a addiction i never knew i had . I hope there will be a game that can give me rhat experience again😢.

Seeing all of the amazing content, and even visuals and general vibe of D1 that Bungie just refuse to bring forward even though the majority of the playerbase has spent a decade asking for it, has really made me feel vindicated about my decision to quit D2 this year. I'm not bothering with final shape, and until they find a way to merge both D1 and D2 and unvault the content I'm done. And I recognise that will never happen, so I've already accepted I'm done. I still love coming back to these D1 nostalgia trips though, it was such a better game.

Man I remember getting the Twilight Garrison before it officially got released from a purple chest engram off The Sunless Cell strike. I’d heard a rumour online of it dropping and had seen someone else with it so just had to get it! Took me a while to grind but that baby dropped about 3-4 months before it officially released

The game just a much better atmosphere than Destiny 2. Armor also actually looked like armor and Exotics and Legendaries felt more special because we weren't showered with them for everything we do.
