      He got his kids back, and you would do the likewise if you were in the same position. So spare me your pro-state interventionism. F - the state. They did not have enough to remove the children, and the children's own lawyer said he agreed there wasn't enough evidence and CASA said ditto. So obviously he is doing something right; despite the over-exaggeration from the agents of authoritarianism.

    If there are no real concerns, why in the world would you ever involve the state in your family? Your children only suffer. When you call cps hoping the other parent gets “in trouble” is only asking for a mess and traumatic events for the children

    • @stonesatglasshouses3477
      @stonesatglasshouses3477 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      People don’t realize that just because they take the child from the other parent doesn’t mean they will get the child. Everyone will be looked into and you will be questioned about the most ridiculous things. Just like family court, you don’t want a stranger telling you how to raise your children.

      My roommate had her kids taken away 6yrs ago (meth-head, and life of crime) she's been clean the last 2yr and theyer in the "reunite" phase. Ive NEVER does drugs, NEVER been in cuffs, never been to jail or prison (she's done all the above) and CPS wants to interview me AND my grown children! We're both in our 40. My kids have graduated school and are now adults. I'm currently looking for a new place to live! No LEVEL minded adult would let CPS NEAR THEIR KIDS. My roommate lost her shit when I told the CPS case worker I'm not letting her anywhere near my kids, grown or not. The case worker wants ME to take drug random tests! I'm a Nurse Assistant at a hospital! If I want a glass of wine after a rough day I should be able to drink it. Its not my fault the RM couldn't keep her shit straight. • @bastcat8
      @bastcat8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@amybaby04 you realize that they wanted you to interview because you live in the home? All adults living in the home have to be interviewed. Children over the age of ten have to have background checks. One of the things they consider during the interview is your alcohol use. As in, if you tell them you have a drink after work (which is totally fine) when they do the drug test just verifies you’re telling the truth. If you don’t have any OWI’s they don’t care if you drink. Also, the reason they are now asking for a drug test could be because you’re refusing to interview.
      Your roommate has every right to be upset with you because you are holding up her reunification because you don’t want to be interviewed. It will literally take about 30 minutes at the most. And most of the interview will probably be about your roommate!

    There wasn’t a shred of evidence of abuse or neglect just a whole lot of speculation and she said he said. We need to stop and think of the trauma done to the children during a removal. This removing kids on no evidence than seeing a judge after the trauma is already inflicted is terrible. In some cases the department is just too quick to remove which causes the child to have problems that they will say the parents caused.

At the time, the statistics were that at a minimum, 50% of all hotline calls were made by fighting parents, individuals in custody disputes etc. That’s not to say a parent shouldn’t call on the other if it’s legitimate. But the vast majority of those 50% calls were bogus. They still had to be investigated, which diverted dwindling resources & staff from cases of actual abuse/neglect. These are my kids that the state played with not it’s so I don’t really expect anyone to be considerate and I really don’t care for it but I will say one thing just to be completely transparent the drug use the department claims there is consist of ONE POSITIVE HAIR FOLLICLE FROM 2017 they and y’all completely categorized me as a bad mother because of choices that a vindictive co parent makes to call cps on me then regrets it later all bc of a past I have I am obligated to prove myself worthy of my kids to the state and whoever else when and where ever the co parent gets upset ! Lol yea no I played that game for years and have yet to give a positive drug test the handful of times I’ve had to be harassed from the department and am at the point to where it doesn’t even matter what I say do or prove I’m never going to be more then the ont positive HAIR FOLLICLE that I gave 6+ years ago not even my ua was dirty just a hair follicle not saying that’s okay I’m js this is what I’m being judged off of over and over again this is degrading none of the negative drug tests we’re ever mentioned I wonder why lol especially Considering this investigation was opened
      for 7MONTHS AND THEY BARELY DECIDED TO REMOVE THE Kids 7MONTHS LATER AFTER SEEING THE KIDS A HANDFULOF TIMES IN BETWEEN AND NEVER CONDUCTED A REMOVAL UNTIL I TOLD THEM I WOULDNT DO CLASSES BC I DID EVERYTHING THEY ASKED TO FIX THE ISSUE OF BEING HOMELESS AND JUST WANTED TO ENJOY PEACE WITH MY KIDS IN PRIVATE WE DESERVED THAT MUCH AND THE STATE ROBBED THAT FROM NY KIDS AND TOOK THEM a WEEK AFTER WE GOT A PLACE AND OUT OF SHELTERS AND CO LIVING! So YEA SEPTEMBER IS A LONG TIME TO NOT HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT REMOVAL DURING AN INVESTIGATION CONSIDERING THE STATE INITIALLY HAS 30DAYS TO CONDUCT A PROPER INVESTIGATION IS WHAT THE GUIDELINES THAT CPS IS SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW THE RULES THAT OUR FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT MADE NOT ME

    So did CPS come into the home, see a big ol’ dumpster fire, and had to immediately remove the children? Did you duck the worker after that and pretend you hadn’t heard from them? The testimony doesn’t make any sense - we absolutely hate removing children. It costs money, requires an insane amount of footwork, gets workers and supervisors screamed at, requires hours of sitting in court, kids scream, cry and call people names - it’s trauma to the workers on top of trauma workers are acutely aware they are causing to families. Nobody wants to go through that and they won’t unless they think kids are going to be injured when the worker leaves the home. Period.

    Idk this man’s specific situation, but I want to say, as a recovering addict, it would be completely inappropriate, unfair, and discriminatory for a court to punish an addict for continuing their substance abuse treatment, which is LIFELONG in most cases, by attending NA/AA meetings. There are people in those rooms who have 30 years clean, and specifically in my case, my ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR at my doctors office, who had over 25 years clean, still attends daily meetings. This is irrelevant, and it’s supposed to be anonymous for reasons just like this. If you find out someone is attending NA/AA, leave their business with them. I understand the need to use it in court at times, but the line of questioning here, trying to get him to admit he’s used by asking about his attendance is inconsequential.

      @jessicahardin8571 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I think it was more about him not being honest about his addiction. People don't go to rehab for the heck of it much less multiple times. @ogcatlady ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Please help me Facebook to be fair AA/NA is not rehab. I completely understand and somewhat agree with your comment but do agree with others when they state AA/NA is supposed to be anonymous and, for some, a lifelong resource.

      If it's a private clinic, and you're paying full health insurance here in Australia, a percentage of people with addiction issues will book themselves in for a few weeks if they're having a heavy time of it but not necessarily drinking or using. The substance use is frequently a symptom of deeper, underlying conditions, self medicating is an embedded response to a lot of mental health issues after a while.
      AA and other 12 step programs are meant to be anonymous. It depends on the person how much they want to get out of the programme, relates to how much work they put into the programme.
      But yes- if he had read the literature he could have sidestepped those questions by reiterating that anonymity is the keystone to (our) success.
      However, in a lot of cases members have a sobriety date and/or an AA birthday, when their first first meeting was. This is highly significant to most members, as is celebrating their 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, 60 days, 90 days and one year and so on, if they wish. Those who start to place high significance on their milestones and birthdays seem to start to do well too. It's all about a much‐needed change of thinking(-> honesty with self).
      But of course it's different for everyone, everyone does their own programme.
      These are just my observations only.

The Mom Zenada at the beginning continued. Ms. Velez continues to play with her hair. Do these people realize they are in a court proceeding and that the convenience they have with Zoom is a privilege? OMG now the Dad removed the knit cap. Please have some respect with meetings that are using Zoom. The Judge should not have to police up this sort of behavior. Both parents seem to not also understand interacting with police officers. As much as I do feel like something isn’t completely right, I don’t think it’s fair to say they just ran and evaded. It’s being said they were there temporarily and I feel like she would have told a worker that within 2 conversations they had. Also being in limbo for over 2 months they had no idea what was going on. Moved into their apt. Got their crap together faster than the department did. I love an attorney who isn’t afraid to ask CPS the hard questions that bring out the slow behind the scenes scramble of everyone. No fault of theirs but not the parents either.
    If you’re talking about taking kids you should know exactly how many calls and exactly how many different reporters.
