This is a wonderful video, Robert O and your lady. That tree is phenomenal. The age calculation based on the circumference (how great that you both measured that!) puts the age at over 200 years. Robert O, you are so responsible to mark that open well. Scary! But the best part was giving me a laugh on the Ides of March. Make sure that Robert gets you that sandwich that you ordered and keep it away from Ballou. Hilarious. Thanks for this great video.

The big huge tree is a Southern Live Oak, and are common here. I live on the coast here in Ga. When the hurricanes pull up regular oak trees by the root, a Live Oak will stand tall. They are so strong and tough, that ships' masts were made with them because they would not break. The USS Cnstitution, a.k.a. "Old Ironsides" was made with Live Oaks from here at St.Simons, Georgia, and got its nickname because the wood was so tough that cannonballs couldn't penetrate its hull, but bounced right off ! It is the oldest ship still afloat, since being built in 1797 !!

Hope loging companies will spare that majestic oak, it's most certainly 200-300 years old, I'm speechless how beautiful it is. I'm Slavic and in our Slavic Pagan mythology Big Oak have a special place as a World tree, Great Tree roots connecting underground world named Viraj under rule of God Veles with top of canopy reaching sky and stars and world above named Prav under rule of God Perun.
Younger Robert should start be concerned because older Robert is doing great job on his channel 😅

Those yellow brick look like what is commonly called "fire brick ". They were used in fireplace & oven construction due to their heat resisistant qualities.
Love the huge tree! I have found several nice "treasures" around these old trees. I have also found knives and all sorts of old things in the limb crotches of such trees. I even found a nice Sterling bracelet in an old tree in Florida. Always look,, for one never knows what folks have placed there & forgotten about over the years. Great video!

I rented an apartment from a family in an 1800s house on top of a mountain in the Southerntier of New York State. Beautiful old property.
They had a UV system to purify the water that they said was from a spring across the road ....the water gravity flowed down into a large plastic cistern in their basement.
One day, I went exploring to see if I could find the water source for the house.
I found an old stone lined spring fed well.
The only covering was a few sheets of corrugated metal roofing with a few stones on top to keep it from blowing away.
    No well house covering.
Anything could have fallen in there and drown!
Or a storm could have blown the sheet metal off.
    Yuck!
Know where your water comes from!

Love it love it love it...... I'm always looking for Trees of Life that size every time I go out into the woods and when I find them I always make sure I have my tape measure on hand. What a significant find for sure and at ~21' circumference She's bound to be somewhat ancient for what She is. Red Oak or not.. I really couldn't tell but I would say about 240 yrs old with a minimum growth factor of 3. I'm almost afraid to ask for Her location for fear of exposing it so I guess I'm on my own with that adventure. Great video as always.

The cooler probably held chilled water in the bottom and had 2 sliding doors on top. In the 1960's, I used to look in the bottle cap receptacle for RC bottle caps. The Bradley Theater on Broadway in Columbus, Ga had a kiddie show on Saturdays and the price of admission was 6 RC bottle caps. RC, which was invented in Columbus, and Coca-cola had bottling facilities in Columbus, GA. Dr. John Pembleton, the inventor of Coca-cola, lived and worked as a pharmacist in Columbus and is buried there in Linwood Cemetery.

It definitely was large. Being 21 feet around. Just wondering how old it is. It was awesome. Could you imagine the stories it could tell. Looked like a Oak, the way the branches spread so beautifully out. It would be great if you could get a good photo of it. I wouldn’t mind having a picture of it. I could enlarge it n frame it. I’ll give you 2 steak sandwiches if you could do that.

Impressive sizing of just how big that tree is. There must be a scientific formula for aging a tree w/o taking a core sample. Hard to imagine someone HASN'T built a house there again. Seems there's always someone looking for a bare plot of land to put a showpiece on it.---I'm a child of the 50's so sure do remember getting a rare time we were allowed to get a pop out of the machines like that!---That 'spooky' tree sure looks like it got hit by lightning.
