@@Jennifer-yy2ri I have one in metal, but it's meant to be stuck on the table and the suckers didn't do their job so I have to hold the machine with a hand, hard down on the table, and, with the other, run the blade; need another pair of hand to change the apple xD

The apple falling off is one of the design characteristics. It is so you can hold one apple in your free hand while the blade peels the apple on the forks, then as the finished apple drops off you stab the new apple onto the forks and keep cutting.

In "old times" things were made to work and last. No "programmed obsolescence", no plastic parts, you could fix 'em if they broke, as well demonstrated in this good video. After so many year and with some welds, it got fully working again. Better than many "new and electronic" craps of today.

Nice work! I wonder if it would have made sense to heat up and quench the blank iron parts in oil to protect against rust. They'd have turned black but you could also have nickel plated them to keep them shiny. Just an idea I've seen done on some other channels when dealing with machinery in contact with food products sometimes. Oh and you might consider hand-painting embossed lettering to make it stand out. :) Keep it up!
