  • I restore a 1910's food cutter to a chopping success. I pulled out my rust removal tools with some sand blasting, filling, and grinding to make a beautiful chopper.

Nice restoration. Your were accurate using the pipe at the end, this is actually a tobacco cutter and not for food.

When I first started watching, I wondered what you were going to do about the blade because it was obvious that it was too far gone for sharpening. It was very clever of you to use an old knife blade. The project turned out wonderfully, but I have a question. Why do you use your vise backwards?

It’s main purpose was to cut tobacco leaves. People also used it for cutting other types of leaves as well in the kitchen. But the word Tobacco doesn’t get much love come to find out in a title or description on TH-cam.

Сорванный и сломанный крепёж легко выкрутить при помощи сварочного аппарата, необходимо приварить гайку подходящего размера к проблемному болту и выкрутить гаечным ключом. Во-первых нагрев, во-вторых рычаг.

At 3:36 you decide to use an easy-out (screw extractor)? Get some Kano Aerokroil- spray it and let it sit an hour or two or maybe overnight. Oh! Now you broke it! Get a goddamned T-Handle and quit hammering on the extractor! You're far too impatient for this type of restoration work. Look at all the time wasted welding and grinding instead of removing screws properly.
