I feel like the art of the interview is dying. The fact that so many media outlets have prerequisite opinions for the reporters they employ means getting to the HEART of a matter takes a backseat to extracting incriminating soundbites to publish

This is such a good point and I wonder if it’s because news outlets are now competing with millions of dynamic TH-camrs and have to get some sort of drama to make catchy headlines. Like “we sat down with Andrew Tate” wouldn’t get any views so they are desperate for drama?

@@TheBehavioralArts Its really funny how much interest Tate draws. A picture of him in the sauna and, according to news, the entirety of Findland mocking him for it made 5 news outlets here in Sweden do articles on it just from what I saw on my Facebook feed. All those articles had hundreds of comments too. Maybe he isnt the most influencal person on the planet, but his name does compete for that title haha.

I‘ve seen body language content from different people and I‘ve got to tell you:
You really stand out in the way you structure your videos, giving us context at the beginning, putting clips in while you explain things, briefly going over basics every time… and most importantly, staying as objective as humanly possible. I feel like talking about different sides of what certain behaviors could mean is the only way to really understand behavior.
So that‘s why I feel it doesn’t really matter what subject you talk about, it always turns out really interesting and educational!

26:30 I also wanted to add that a vibrating leg can be the way someone subconsciously deals with pain. It was something I did for a long time at the beginning of my chronic illness and it was often my husband who noticed it first and he would draw my attention to it so that I could do something about it, as opposed to not noticing it until it was so absolutely overwhelming. So, I just wanted to add that to the list of possible reasons that eomeone might be shaking (really vibrating) a body part.

He just did a 5 hour interview that came out yesterday with Patrick Bet-David that has already 7m views in 24 hours. But in that interview he talks about how The BBC was asking for interview since he was still in jail begging him. He kept saying no and without him asking they sent him a list of questions they want to ask. And he said the questions were good and different That seemed interesting and questions not asked before and not these same repetitive questions looking for that got you moment. And as you see in this video and he points it out Tate at the beginning has a welcoming smile and is happy to be there because he thinks it will be a chance to talk about certain things he wasn't asked before from someone who is trying to show both sides. And "BAM" off the bat he gets blind sided by the first question is " have you raped anybody"? This was another black eye for the BBC and the media is actually making people like Andrew that didn't before because they see how unfair he is being treated. Especially if you watch the BBC and they interview a famous tv from England a few days ago who has been proven that he groomed young boys to have sex with for years and years while he worked at the BBC and they start out that interview with " Its been a tough week for you. How are you holding up?"!!! And this guy is a proven child molster of young boys for years, whos brother is also serving 11 years in prison for raping a minor. And the BBc tells people to take it easy on this guy because he's old and his mom is suffering from all of this. And andrew not yet convicted of anything gets to start off the interview with "have you raped anybody? Have you trafficked anybody? Exploited any women for money?" And it only gets worst from there. BBC is a joke.

He was going to be defensive & deflective no matter how the topics were introduced. He showed contempt & hostility much more than she did, even before she called him out on the non-answers. He really didn't give her a chance to finish a complete thought, let alone sugar-coat anything.

    • @ixizn
      @ixizn ปีที่แล้ว +15

It’s a fine art to discuss things with a narcissist without letting your emotions get to you (I grew up with one for a parent so I definitely know), but the most frustrating thing is that people like this rely on others behaving and reacting like the interviewer did. That’s how they’re able to spin the narrative and say you’re the emotional one, you’re the rude one etc.
Which clearly worked with this interview too, his supporters just came away from this saying he’s even more great because of it and the media just have it out for him. I’m sure lots of people would think that no matter what went down, but even myself as someone who can’t stand Tate, I also thought the interview was poorly done and it was clear they had no interest in hearing what he had to say.
Not everyone can handle speaking to people like this which is 100% fine and understandable (just watching videos of him triggers my flight or fight response personally), but then they should’ve made sure they had a reporter on the job who COULD keep calm. If they’d been friendly, or at least neutral, it could’ve opened the conversation to make Tate twist himself into circles, like narcissistic people always tend to do if you don’t take their bait and just let them blab on. Instead they played right into his “media is against me and supressing me” misunderstood victim narrative.

Edit: not sure why people are ignoring the fact that I clearly stated that I dislike the man but nothing was proved in this interview about what he truly said in seriousness. That's on him, not on her.....If this is him on an off-day, what would his level of aggressiveness be on a good day.... ? He wanted to appear in control and despite him barking 'next question' thinking that gave him the upperhand, it actually did the opposite.
Who knows how he behaved when camera's were not rolling and he knew himself to be unobserved?
He has an image problem and he didn't do himself any favours in this interview. A woman being critical of things he said? He can't have that, that would be like admitting defeat ...That's why he lashed out.
This man has had poor male rolemodels as a child and this is what he makes of it. He could've tried to turn his experience into something positive. But no... He needs to confirm his importance (he thinks that when he says it , it's true), he tries to intimidate with loud words and threatening posture. This man has a giant inferiority complex and is ashamed of it. No man who is secure about himself and his feelings needs to confirm to himself that he is important by means of neanderthal opinions (he didn't mean it when he said they were 'equal' he did however mean it when he said a woman in a relationship with him is 'his property') and being all ostentaticious about is 'wealth'.....
I pity this man...he needs validation and can't even get it from himself. He would go insane if he could'nt count on the attention and admiration of 'men' (who are in fact mostly adolescents trying to cope with life as we all do).
He's holding up a picture of a life anyone can achieve according to him. He's not being honest to his 'followers' and they don't realise that yet. He has a responsability he is unwilling to take. He doesn't care about his subscribers or what their life will be. He cares about money and sadly they are all too willing to give it to him. That's exactly what he admitted to doing when he talked about the scams. There's no difference between his subscribers and the men he scams. He uses vulnerable women and men as long as he can make money off of it.
But of course... he said he's a good person so that must mean he is....

If anyone is interested Tate did a 4 hour interview with Patrick Bet-David over on his YT channel, PBD Podcast. I listened to the whole thing and found it rather interesting. Also, for the record Tate was so angry with the interviewer because BBC reached out to him a crap ton of times and told him "don't worry, we're gonna give you a fair shake", "we wanna know how your time in jail was", "we're not coming to accuse you or berate you" etc. And after them reaching out over and over again he finally accept to give them a interview. And then this ignorant woman comes in and does and says the exact things that BBC told Tate they wouldn't do. I think he's so agitated during this whole interview because he's mad at BBC but also mad at himself because he knew better than to invite them in to do a interview. The journalist was incompetent, she didn't do any research and he demolished her as a result. No excuse for that.
If your son has proper male role models and parenting at home, he's not going to be overly influenced by people he sees online. Tate says a lot of things which are true but then uses that to manipulate and exploit. His analysis of what's wrong with our society is correct. His prescription is skewed.
He only exists as an influence because of our absurd culture that demonises masculinity and leaves boys without aspirational male role models. Feminised men and women aren't what they want to be.

You’re asking him to be accountable for something he his repeatedly saying he is not responsible for. To claim that Tate is making children misogynistic because of the things he has said years ago is a fallacy. That’s not why children see him as a role model. In fact, I would a argue that if it was really about the kids the news would be interviewing Tate fans and getting their perspective. However this is clearly about Andrew himself (nobody even cares about Tristian huh?) and this cancerous idea that is spreading from nothing but word of mouth, people want him to be this evil guy so bad, his fans, including myself, see the complete opposite. The constant attempts to tarnish his name and get rid of him are quite literally creating a divide between the youth and older generations, and is not the youths fault. Everyone needs to wake up man, quickly.

I'll be honest, I have been on the fence about Andrew Tate for awhile. He seems very narcissistic, but his overall message seems like a positive one.
After watching the interview, I was actually more of a fan of his than before, because of how disagreeable and full of contempt and clear bias that the reporter had.
The press is supposed to report on the news, not make it. In my mind they need to present it objectively or as close to objectively as possible. This reporter went in there with absolutely zero intention on doing that, which plays in to what Andrew has been saying.
Now, having said that, as someone who has been using OLD apps for years, I have an absolute hatred for the scammers that target people who are looking for love and view them as ATM's. In fact, what he admitted to doing is borderline criminal fraud in my mind
He seemingly bragged about using attractive women online to find guys online who are looking for romance and pretend to be interested in them all while trying to get them to send "them" money.
There's no "genius" in that activity- it's called being a scammer and is logically no different than a stripper at a club trying to get guys to buy private dances from them while pretending to care about the guys.
It's not "genius" to manipulate people who are looking for romantic connection- it's disgusting, immoral, predatory, and despicable...none of which are qualities or virtues of a "good" person.

The simple fact that Andrew Tate even talks about it is a reminder to never be that man throwing their money away to cam girls, in reality it’s just an attack on onlyfans. Tate is condemning the business he was once a part of, while telling boys to never participate, that’s the best message, the one that isn’t being pushed.

She said it was about him hitting her with a machete because he cheated on her, whereas it was actually about her trying to kill him with a machete. She also mentioned the rape allegation even though they had been previously dropped. She's only mentioning that to make him look bad. Then there was the part when she said "I'm glad you find that funny" when she was pretending he was laughing about "intimate parts belonging..." whereas he was actually laughing about being the "most dangerous man on the planet". Had I been sat 121 with Andrew Tate, off the top of my head I would have done 2 main things differently:
-most importantly, knowing the type of person he is (thinking mainly of his ego), I would have approached the interaction with a friendliness, almost flattery, & openness to suspend my personal feelings in order to encourage him to explain things rather than put him on the defensive.
-I would have had a bullet point list of evidence for the points I am making, with reference numbers for the relevant clips in a folder so I could pull them up if needed!

He is also adapting with his ring finger while his hands steeple downward and presents at least two leftward head shrugs while his gaze reverts down and away and his head drops slightly before he lifts his head again smiling and attempting to recover. These are not what I expect to see if he really feels in control at this moment. I don't know if he is more concerned with controlling himself, the interview, or the entirety of the situation.

People try to glean too much from body language. Certainly there are psychological drivers that dictate how people move and speak. However you can never see those drivers directly, you can only intuit them based off of the body language downstream of it. Even with clusters of body language, there can be multiple interpretations and inferences made as to what caused that cluster to appear, and in the end they are only inferences. Nobody is a mind reader, or else the top poker players would always be able to tell when their opponents were bluffing.
I appreciate body language analysis, but I wouldn't put all your emphasis and confidence in that one single tool. There are many other things at work which you cannot see, and you cannot glean them all from a person's body language.

It's entirely true that if she had done a more effective job interviewing, the interview likely would have gone far better, but that wouldn't have been the interview that the BBC wanted to air. They didn't want to air their reporter casually interacting, building rapport, and _then_ hitting Andrew Tate with hard questions when he least expected, _and_ having the receipts if he tried to evade the questions (which, as you pointed out, this woman was sorely unprepared on).
They wanted a bunch of people with 45-second attention spans to see that Andrew Tate is a vile piece of shit (as you can clearly see, from the way the interviewer interacts with him from the very beginning, that she detests him) and to hear him deny the allegations (they already believe he's guilty, they just wanted to hear him deny it, so that they can write the denial off as a lie). And then they tune out. That's the narrative that the BBC wanted.

I think its key to talk calmly about Mr. Tate. He is exceptional at exciting and bringing emotional reaction to situations. When the chaos erupts and he remains calm because he planned for said chaos to erupt he is viewed as tactical or prepared when really anyone who walked into a situation with a plan to cause chaos will always be more calm than the people who were not prepared for that interaction.
I believe Mr. Tate has made clear his intentions are for wealth, control, and exposure and this is also what he preaches to his followers. I think the key thing to remember here is anyone who preaches to lie always will not refrain from lying to those they preach to. Mr. Tate preaches wealth, control, and exposure so it makes common sense that he would be using his audience to achieve it just as he tells his audience to use people and situations in their life to achieve the same.
I think Mr. Tate, just like any person, should be viewed with discernment and careful critical thought. Everyone has valid points because everyone has real experiences, but it is each of our own jobs to deal with those things ourselves and with our support system. Mr. Tate feeds off sharing his view in a light that can cause negative interactions between loved ones, strangers, and friends. When Mr. Tate is talking about manipulating people you can't only believe he is manipulating the people that don't agree with him. It is far more likely he is manipulating most of the people he reaches. This is due to the context of manipulation being portrayed as positive in Mr. Tates representation of it.
Take every person who claims to have the answers to your struggles with a large grain of salt. Most truly helpful advice is not a quick fix or something that requires you to manipulate people. It is often introspective and takes time to grow. Wealth is only as meaningful as what you use that money to do, control is only as valuable as how you manage your self, and exposure is only as good as the council and morals you keep and the message you share.

I believe that admitting we've fallen short (admitting we're wrong) in anything takes a massive amount of vulnerability. It is easier to be vulnerable in a space which feels safe and grounded. Perhaps we could've seen a reflective attitude in Mr. Tate if this atmosphere had been created.
To me: Safe does not mean everyone agrees with you. It means that those in that space believe you are a human with humanity. That you are trying to do the best you can with what you have, even if that best falls short. Then everyone in a space can approach as equals and not feel misunderstood before they reach the discussions that matter.
Outside of such a space, individuals who believe they are good (like Andrew Tate) will be arguing for their self-worth as a human being, rather than the heart of hurt which has arisen from whats been said and done.

The reason dangling beatiful women in front of unconfident men is such a common and effective thing is because it is MUCH harder for a man to get experience (and thus confidence) in having a relationship or even just interacting well with the opposite gender. It is not because these men consider themselves ''worth of being with a beautiful women'' but because they are unconfident due to lacking that valuable experience. In contrast it is really easy for a woman to get that experience, because in our current modern societies women have FAR more social value.
Completely ignoring most people of the other gender and believing they only deserve the very top % is more a thing women do then, as well. Women have a lot (as several times as much) more options then men do. That is simply the reality of the gender dynamic when it comes to relationships or social interaction.

@@sondra4789 all of his "strategies" are like Cliff notes version of BOOK OF FIVE RINGS with some ART OF WAR while using elementary Holocaust Denier techniques and reframing Pickup artist speech. Very easy to see through. Inside he is a little boy that masquerades as macho. His face is nothing but a mask which is why he usually hides behind sunglasses. His prime directive is intimidation and gets easily frustrated with a minor threat. Classic bully.

The best commentary on Andrew Tate Iv seen. Fair and balanced. Suspect your political views are more to the left. Why can’t most lefties reason and explain their position like this. I’m sure both sides would find a lot more middle ground .

He flat out lied about putting on his website where he sold his 'Hustlers University' course, that his method is to get girls to fall in love with him, get them over to Romania, then get them to do camera sex work for him. This is the 'business method' he was selling his paid up members, and forms part of his trafficking strategy. Tate took it down, but it's still out there. That's just one aspect of how he exploited those women. He also admitted on his site to pretending he was paying tax for them, but really keeping the money. He's a lying, cheating, exploitative scumbag, currently under house arrest, lying in an interview is nothing to him.
