A refillable pressurized water can would be a good addition to the ladder or header area. You get a lot of bang for your buck with that and it costs nothing to refill and recharge. You can do it at the farm. Just make sure you empty it or take it inside for the winter. Great job getting it put out, with the wind that would have taken off.
Add some Dawn dish soap to that water extinguisher, the surfactant in the soap will make the water go farther. Call the fire department first then they can be on the way while you put the fire out. They never mind coming out even if the fire is out when they get there.
Exaclty! Chemical extinguishers are horrible on class A fires because they can't absorb the heat. You can put out a lot of fire with a 2 1/2 gallon water can
For years my father kept a 4020 full of diesel by our front gate. It was attached to a14’ tandem disk. All of our neighbors knew the keys were in it. You stop a grass fire by suffocation and plowing works. Great job Cole
Your comment about Tiffany jumping in without being asked and grabbing those sacks of pre-mix reminds me of my wife. She doesn't think anything of it. I remember a few months ago you were calving and there was a brief shot of Tiffany observing a calf being born. She didn't seem grossed out by it at all. You may unknowingly have yourself a farm girl!
I was right with you when I saw the smoke rolling in the field.. oh my oh my .. So happy it didn't get out of control. Please keep a bigger extinguisher in tractors. Bless you all .
As a farmer that married a teacher I can vouche for the '' I married a wife not a hired hand!'' comment. My wife also appreciated it. Keep up the good work and the great videos!
No need to watch other channels - it's all right here at Sonne Farms, cattle, crops and comedy! Cole seriously - awesome quick thinking to stop that field fire! Uncle Jeff is a beast.
Omg Cole I was so afraid 😨 you couldn't stop that fire 🔥 I am so glad you got it under control thank God Brian and Jeff you are all such hard workers stay safe outthere
Holy Cra_!!!!! YOU had me sitting on the edge of my seat cheering you on all the way Cole... You said your going home to get some lunch but didn't mention a NEW Pair of shorts 😁😅🤣😅🤣 All kidding aside You kept your head & definitely saved that whole field... Hugs & Blessings Cole, Mom, Dad & Jeff💙🤗✝️... GBY ALL 🙏❤️💙💙🤗✝️
Grass fires are no joke and can spread faster than you think. Good job noticing it so quickly and getting it out. Tiffany is by far the best looking and nicest farm hand I have ever known of. You got nothing to worry about.
Great seeing Uncle Jeff in the video. I’m glad you were able to get that fire under control quickly since it looked like you had some windy conditions.
Good hustle on the fire! That wind could have made it far worse in a hurry. As for the “she ain’t a farm girl” comment..... doesn’t matter where she was born and bred, what matters is if she’s willing to pull in tandem, once hitched. Sounds like she is!
I'm amazed at the number of bad things that can happen to farmers and ranchers in the course of a season. I admire anyone who is in the agricultural industry. We need to think of, and be thankful to you when we go to the supermarket and casually fill our carts so easily with all the good products with which you provide us. Farmers and ranchers are the salt of the earth, and we are all indebted to you. God bless you all.
2 1/2 gallon water fire extinguisher. You can put window washer fluid in it so you don't have to worry about it freezing up. Get a couple, 1 for combine and 1 for the windrower. You can fill them yourself, just uses 100 psi from the air compressor to charge it.
Jeff is a wise farmer like his brother Brian, listens well and speaks when advice is needed to be given. This is a lovely family. The kind of people who made America great!
Whew, I was getting nervous there for you Cole, did a good job to get that fire stomped out and cut out! Looks like those gates should help you guy's in working and sorting the cattle. Your dad is a funny man, love his sense of humor, of course you may have a different take on it. Good to see Jeff. Great video, thanks for sharing, have an awesome week.
My aunt was a school teacher in Kingsley, IA. for over 30 years so I know where LaMars, IA. is and the Blue Bunny ice cream factory. Had many a scoops from there as a kid.
Nothing like a little pucker feeling with a fire in a field of grass. Especially since the wind would of sent it across very quickly. Glad it turned out well
The Toro company should be thanked for bringing on the 🌧 so you could have some yard grass to mow and show it off. Nice job on the grass fire 🔥,makes a fellow nervous that’s for sure.
Love the song of the day and Willie Joel! Brilliant Brian you do think up some hilarious things 👍🏻 loved seeing uncle Jeff again, we need more of you 😘
Holy you had me clenching my cheeks when i saw that fire not going out. I was relieved to see you’re smart. As soon as the extinguisher didnt work i was screaming drive it over with the combine and engage the blades. You were in sync with my thoughts. Good stuff bruv
That wind blowing the grass could be disorienting. My hat's off to you Cole for your quick thinking to isolate the fire with your machine. That grass just looked too green to take off like that, but the wind make all the difference. I think you ought to take Ricky out behind the barn and have a talk with about how rude he was to squat in your buildings.
Cole, Good job getting the fire under control and extinguished! Yeoman’s work! A pressurized water extinguisher will work a lot better for fires similar in nature.
I don't know anything about fire extinguishers, but having bigger ones and/or more than one is probably a good idea. You handled that well, so give yourself a pat on the back! Love watching that pile driver on your skid steer. We all need one of those once in awhile! Thanks for another "exciting" video.
So glad you got that fire under control. It is horrible to watch things burn as I have so many times as a fire fighter. It pays to have plans in place. I have radio communications here on our property because cell service is horrible here in Pa where I live. God bless you guys and we’re praying for God to bless your harvest this year
While I’m a small city dweller, I chased two raccoons off my screened in porch last night. Each got a BB to the butt. It was at dusk and they came in via our cat door (now known as raccoon door). No - we do not leave food outside. In Ohio, you can only relocate to your own property. Last time I hired a trapper - I caught 6 cats and one raccoon.😂
Cole - I hope Ariat is paying you to wear their shirts! You make them look good. Not as good as they look on me, but I wasn't wearing them until I saw them on you.
I gotta admit, that fire had me sweating!! I was seeing that whole dang field going up in smoke. Without Cheech and Chong there too! Good thinkin Cole, you handled that well. I would have been afraid the wind from the cutters would have fanned the fire and made it worse. You done GOOOD!! EDIT!! About that mower, if I can't watch your videos from it, I don't want it. Let the dang grass grow!! I'll stay in here and watch the videos thank you!! It is a little cooler and the ice in my tea don't melt so quick. Thanks for another great video guys. I had the joy of working with a guy like Jeff. He was a Vernon. Big strong gently giant of a man that could (and would) lift, tote, bend, break, manhandle, move, anything that needed such handling. And, with the other hand, could cuddle a week old baby and soothe it to sleep. Loved that man..
I like that quick thinking!! Y'all are doing a great job out there!! Farming can be dangerous in so many ways but I know you guys can handle it. Thanks for the video.
Well job putting out that fire Cole! The one thing I’ve learned living in the middle of nowhere….I decided to make a makeshift fire truck out of my Chevy 2500. 2-330 gallon ibc totes and a high pressure pump and 100’ of fire hose. Works extremely well. We had our neighbors barn catch fire at 3am one morning. They called out 4 volunteer fire departments and it took 43 minutes for the first truck to arrive! Bad thing about living rural. That’s when I decided to make my own fire truck! It’s only 600 gallons but it’s better than nothing. It will work well for a grass fire!! Structure fire? Not so much. 😂.
" Cole started the Fire " .. Awesome Song of the Day !!
Look forward to the South Dakota Public Broadcasting of Sonne Farms and Storla Station.
The best of Brian busting Cole’s chops. That’s worth the price of admission.
Cole started the fire, love Brian's sense of humour !!!!!!
Lol! Brian's songs of the day!! Glad it all turned out OK!
The worst feeling is when a parent won’t answer the phone in an emergency no matter how old you are 😂😂
Your Uncle Jeff is a cool guy!
A beautiful sonne day
No matter who gets blamed for starting the fire, it was Cole's quick thinking that put it out and saved the field! 👍 👏
Your dad is hilarious ❤
Gotta love when a new Sonne Farms is uploaded!
A refillable pressurized water can would be a good addition to the ladder or header area. You get a lot of bang for your buck with that and it costs nothing to refill and recharge. Add about 3 oz. Dawn to it to emulsify and it just about triples effectivenous
I was going to suggest the same thing, I have found chemical extinguishers don't seem to work well on grass.
Exaclty! Chemical extinguishers are horrible on class A fires because they can't absorb the heat. You can put out a lot of fire with a 2 1/2 gallon water can
Same here. Found one on EBay for about $80. After filling with water just add a squeeze of dish soap. Then close and pressurize.
For years my father kept a 4020 full of diesel by our front gate. It was attached to a14’ tandem disk. All of our neighbors knew the keys were in it. You stop a grass fire by suffocation and plowing works. Great job Cole
Very true had a wheat straw fire and thats how it was put out
Your comment about Tiffany jumping in without being asked and grabbing those sacks of pre-mix reminds me of my wife. She doesn't think anything of it. I remember a few months ago you were calving and there was a brief shot of Tiffany observing a calf being born. She didn't seem grossed out by it at all. You may unknowingly have yourself a farm girl!
Loved Brian's song of the day at end! Pops is one funny guy!
Pretty impressive keeping a camera rolling while being fireman.
Favorite TH-cam channel (sonne farms)
Great video Cole. Sorry about the fire. Glad you got it out tho. Thank you Cole ,Mr.B and Jeff
Thought Jeff was going to do a caber toss for a minute there
I was right with you when I saw the smoke rolling in the field.. oh my oh my .. So happy it didn't get out of control. Please keep a bigger extinguisher in tractors. Bless you all .
As a farmer that married a teacher I can vouche for the '' I married a wife not a hired hand!'' comment. My wife also appreciated it. Keep up the good work and the great videos!
My grandpa would say the same thing.
Cole under pressure, great job handling things, Bud!!!
She might not be a farm girl but she will hold her own and help Cole with whatever she can possible. That's what a wife does. 💅💪
We love watching Sonne farms with Brian Cole and Ellie
Nice to see Jeff, Your dad has an AWSOME sense of humor.......I'm still laughing about the song of the day!!!!!!
Things and stuff pretty much keeps me busy all week.
Good video Cole & Brian & Jeff
Boys yal stay safe !!
Good job stopping the fire, Cole. I never saw you move so fast! 😂🤣😉
I’m glad it wasn’t windier, or that fire might’ve gotten away from you.
No need to watch other channels - it's all right here at Sonne Farms, cattle, crops and comedy! Cole seriously - awesome quick thinking to stop that field fire! Uncle Jeff is a beast.
Brian's best line yet ! you two are the best team !
Wonderful as always gentlemen
Omg Cole I was so afraid 😨 you couldn't stop that fire 🔥 I am so glad you got it under control thank God Brian and Jeff you are all such hard workers stay safe outthere
Cole you are so lucky to have such a funny Dad.
Holy Cra_!!!!! YOU had me sitting on the edge of my seat cheering you on all the way Cole...
You said your going home to get some lunch but didn't mention a NEW Pair of shorts 😁😅🤣😅🤣
All kidding aside You kept your head & definitely saved that whole field...
Hugs & Blessings Cole, Mom, Dad & Jeff💙🤗✝️...
GBY ALL 🙏❤️💙💙🤗✝️
Willy Joel. Omg. That’s funny Cole. Thanks Brian
Love watching the three Sonne men together in a video
You handled that like a rock star. Way to work under pressure. Takes a lot of gonads to drive an implement into a fire.
Just glad you’re safe, that’s most important!
Great video Cole and Brian
Stay safe out there, hope yall have a good week 💙
Grass fires are no joke and can spread faster than you think. Good job noticing it so quickly and getting it out. Tiffany is by far the best looking and nicest farm hand I have ever known of. You got nothing to worry about.
Your videos never disappoint. Thank you for sharing. Glad to see you didn’t lose the field or the equipment.
Great seeing Uncle Jeff in the video. I’m glad you were able to get that fire under control quickly since it looked like you had some windy conditions.
Cole started the fire 🔥 🤣😅🤣
Great job getting it put out, I was freaking!
Cole, you are the Man!! Didn't panic and mowed the heck out of those flames!! Really great work. 🤗🤗😎😎🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
🎵 Cole started and Fire 🎶
Smoked hay. Something special for the cattles.
Great job putting out the fire Cole
Good video I enjoyed it. I'm glad the fire didn't do much damage.
Brian again makes me laugh out loud. Thank you, Brian.
Cole - WAY TO GO putting the fire out. Quick thinking sure paid off. That will get the heart rate going.
Brian gratz on turning 60, I will be turning 70 on the 28th. It's hell to be old.
Good hustle on the fire! That wind could have made it far worse in a hurry.
As for the “she ain’t a farm girl” comment..... doesn’t matter where she was born and bred, what matters is if she’s willing to pull in tandem, once hitched. Sounds like she is!
Such love and enjoyment between father and young son.😊

my favorite comment
WOW I had a fire situation in the past and man it can be scary. Great job putting it out.! You kept your head
Ok, my heart was racing when the fire extinguisher ran out. So thankful you were able to put it out. Great job and quick thinking Cole.
I was never a farm girl either, but have been a farm wife for 51 years.
Just what I was thinking!!! It sure is nice to have a Jeff around!!!
2 1/2 gallon water fire extinguisher. You can put window washer fluid in it so you don't have to worry about it freezing up. Get a couple, 1 for combine and 1 for the windrower. You can fill them yourself, just uses 100 psi from the air compressor to charge it.
Thisssss
Beat me to it! Was thinking the same thing.
A lot of washer fluids have alcohol in them and don’t put out fires ask me how I know….
@@timhunsaker they shouldn't have that much, if the windshield washer burns the alcohol content is to high and people will start drinking it.
You can add just a drizzle of dawn dish soap will stretch your water a bit more. But a 2.5 gallon pressurized extinguisher or two will save the day.
Brian makes the funnies so good he cracks himself up.
yeah
Reminds of the office, COLE started the fire 🔥, it was always burning since the blades have been turning, COLE started the fire lol, stay safe guys
Song of the day, "Cole started the fire".....Brian you are funny lol
I thank God that you were able to get the fire under control quickly and most especially that you didn’t get hurt while stomping on the flames!
Your dad is a hoot.
Good thinking Cole getting the fire out. Good luck with the rest of the cutting hay stay safe and positive
Good to be thankful for what you have. I was worried watching that fire take good job putting it out.
Great job of keeping your wits about you during a stressful situation Cole 👍
Great to see you're safe after the fire and were able to extinguish the fire quickly with minimal damage!
Thanks. Good to see Jeff.
Jeff is a wise farmer like his brother Brian, listens well and speaks when advice is needed to be given. This is a lovely family. The kind of people who made America great!
Hey I like that Shoppa's cap that's cool. That's my home town John deere dealer

Miracle.
“Driving the speed limit, I’m sure” quote of the year from cole 😂😂

Absolutely quick thinking on that fire Cole, you deserve a bunch of atta boys. Brian got you at the end!!!
Brian you are funny. Song of the day. I laughed so hard I had to watch it again and again. I’m still laughing 😂
Holy you had me clenching my cheeks when i saw that fire not going out. I was relieved to see you’re smart. As soon as the extinguisher didnt work i was screaming drive it over with the combine and engage the blades. You were in sync with my thoughts. Good stuff bruv

I love it so freaking much when Brian cracks up at his own jokes. Makes me laugh too, every time. Glad you got the fire under control!!
lol
Your a good worker Cole

Hey Cole great Job with handling that situation! Appreciate you taking us along during a really tough time! Thanks man
Miss u guys. It's bean a awhile since I seen u fellers. Miss watching Sonne Framez. Hope you and the intern are well.
