      Thank you so much for these kind words! You made me smile so big at work (lol). My heart is full! You are my friend! And I love tea! Especially since I don't load it up with sugar like I do coffee. (I even put vanilla ice cream in my iced coffee. Shame!) My doctor would definitely approve of you and I having a cup of tea haha! Let me know where I can see your artwork beautiful. BIG HUGS

    You stated that you love the polys so you should be able to get to the point that you feel comfortable with the Albrecht Durer. Polys are my go to pencil and having the Durers as a watercolor companion works well for me.

      Jane! You get me! Yes, Polys are my fav fav fav pencils. They just work with my hands and the way I color. And I LOVE the colors. Which would mean that the AD's should be the cream to my coffee, right?? I am determined to get the hang of them. I just truly believe they could become one of my most favorite mediums. i'm just currently in the corner with a dunce cap on LOL

    🤣🤣🤣🤣 No math in art!!! Lol. You're such a peach. My favorite is your favorite!! Yes, an aged circus was an inspired idea. Thank you for the compliments, I love you too. I want to try the Toolie paint markers too. I have loved my Ohuhu paint markers so much!! Toodles. 🖖👽

    • @HappyCatastrophy
      @HappyCatastrophy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Doodles!!! You have the Ohuhu paint markers?? Ok that's it..I need to get them. You are my coloring spirit guide lol! The Tooli's are fantastic but spendy...and annoying in the way they sell them. They only have a few mixed color sets...mostly you have to buy them in sets of all blue, all red, all green, etc. That's too much money!! So I'm just frankensteining a bunch of acrylic pens together and using them for their strengths. It's just the Tooli's can do anything so ...sigh. My wallet cries again. BIG HUGS MY FRIEND

    You probably already subscribe to her channel, but Shel's Colouring Journey uses Albrecht Durers almost exclusively & does the most beautiful work. So if you're wanting to improve using that particular medium, I can't recommend her channel enough, Great wrap up video and happy coloring in 2024! -pocketfullasass

    • @HappyCatastrophy
      @HappyCatastrophy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do! Shel is the Albrecht Durer Goddess of Coloring IMHO LOL! I have watched and watched her. It's definitely not the pencils, it's the user. There's just something I'm doing wrong. I suspect heavy handedness and lack of patience. And don't you have a YT channel that I watch???

    Jade Summers & Coloring Book Cafe helped bring Coco Wyo back. I wondered though about Colorya, as I have been contacted by them for 3 of their books asking to do reviews which yes I did, no prob, BUT each time they said it was their newest book out, not yet on Amazon, & it took them 6 months each time to send it to me. They kept saying that they were having issues with their publishing company or that the book is in high demand. I do have their pencils, I do like those.

    • @HappyCatastrophy
      @HappyCatastrophy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah....that. Super sketchy. And if you look at their books..there's always something a little off. But they are cute! I just wish they were more transparent in their process. Name the artists. Tell us it is digitally augmented. Something. But don't try to pull on over on us. And really, once I got into that book I couldn't color the images because they were so "wrong". I would have destashed it anyway. The AI just goofed up the pictures. I still believe in their company and hope they evolve.

      I am so glad that is of interest to you!! honestly it was desperation that got me to figure it out and now its the only way I use those LOL. I am learning that every one has to find their own method of using every medium. I honestly probably would have given up on those expensive pencils if I hadn't seen so many colorists use them with great results. And I was determined to get my money's worth hahaha

    Lots of fun, Candice! There is, in fact, no math in coloring. Or there shouldn't be anyway. Lol so many great and wonderful things that you touched on in this video. I was tagged to do this too. I really want to do it but it is going to be a bit, yet, before I am able. Stay awesome! Look forward to the next one my friend 😊

      Thank you gorgeous!!!! This video was fun to make yet very involved. It does take a bit of research and I was surprised how long it took me to prepare for it. I hope you do it! Have you done it? I haven't seen it pop up yet....in fact...I haven't seen a video of yours in a while! I need to look into that...I suspect the algorithm. I will go spank it and find your videos. HUGS GIRL

      @HappyCatastrophy lol 😆 I have not made a video in quite a while. Work has been VERY consuming. I have not even had much energy to color. I will say that the art apartment is almost ready for a video! Then I will get all the stuff in there and do another. The hard reset at work should be done soon so maybe I'll even be able to use the art apartment. 🎨 we shall see. Thank you for continuing to allow me to hang out 😉🥰😍

    Candice, your pages are stunning! I wonder what printer you using for your mini pics for your journal? xx

    • @HappyCatastrophy
      @HappyCatastrophy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I use the Canon MX920. It's quite an old printer. But I bought it based on a lot of research and reviews about printing artwork. I make stickers. It does pretty good except it really can't handle thick card like watercolor paper which is a shame. But Canon is a good brand for clear printing so maybe a newer model could handle thicker paper? You must use an inkjet for most things...I've heard a laser printed image bleeds when you color it? Some colorists have their images printed at a copy shop. You can even take in the paper you want it on. I can't imagine that costs very much at all. I might do that with a few images I would like on watercolor paper. I do love my printer though and it has worked well for what I have needed it for.

    • @my6color
      @my6color 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much for your reply. Laser printed images should not bleed when colored. Anyway have a great day!@@HappyCatastrophy

    • @HappyCatastrophy
      @HappyCatastrophy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's right! It's the other way round...it's the ink jet pages that sometimes bleed. I just dripped some water on a page I am coloring ant the lines bled. Let me know what printer you end up with and if you like it or not. HUGS

      I'm an American Sign Language interpreter in the medical field. I spent my youthful years being the active interpreter who was always jetting off to exciting assignments and emergencies and arrests and all sorts of interesting things. Now that I'm much older and with long covid health issues, my amazing company agreed to place me in one setting supporting one client where there is a lot of down time so I can rest. (And color.) It really is perfect for me at this time in my life. Except that it is 1.5 hours away from my cabin so I have 3 hours of driving a day LOL. But I still love it.

    if AI is identified by how many books are produced than sorry Deborah Muller is AI she pumps out books at a ridiculous rate.

      hahahahah ! Right?? But she isn't. And there's a lot more indicators that need to be there than just productivity. She is one heck of a coloring book machine, isn't she? Love her.
