      The church guy....
He did everything right, except that he should have put one-and-one together a few months earlier, so that he could have still been able to achieve what he originally set out for.
That last one is the perfect example of a dumb bitch (OP) seeking the advice of a dumb bitch (Therapist... who is likely not dating, and basic women typically have this collective mentality of, "if I am not, then other women should not"), which has led her to misery. She knew what she needed to do, and just like every other basic dumb bitch, she did the opposite. No pity afforded to her scenario.

Last story: Bad advice from the therapist. There are so many ways to approach that fear of missing out that resolves it without breaking up or separating. Makes me wonder if the therapist was projecting his/her own issues onto the patient and leading the OP into the results the therapist thought was best. It happens more than people think

When I was around 17-18, I had to see a therapist or lose my caseworker ( I was a street kid and had a worker for housing and helping me with my GED and volunteer work.) That convinced me that I had bad "issues". They put me on anti psychotics and it took three of my friends to toss the meds and stop seeing the doctor. I lost my housing and was banned from getting a new worker. About a year later, I saw a new therapist who got me off the misdiagnosis and helped me deal with my issues ( I overwhelmed myself and caused took on too many jobs and classes to deal with to cover my depression, not having at time BPD. ) I came out better for life and not as depressed or anxious. As it turned out, I discovered by then my caseworker got paid more from the city if the client was an addict or mentally ill so he would try to shoehorn the clients or try to drop them.

    I remember this first story...
It's so disheartening to still see people behave so poorly in the context of religion... I'm not religious myself, but shouldn't religion act as a means of wholesome and kind union?
Acting so insufferable towards others because of their political leanings and ostensibly making it part of your religion is so gross. Do I ever wish churches doing that would instantly lose their tax exempt status.
That said, if 'Mr. Charming' really does believe in an afterlife, he better be ready for a really toasty eternity.

As someone who is religious, yes
As a Christian, we are expected to be humble and kind towards others like God wants his believers to follow
I don't like the ones who harass the people about not being religious
Like we tell about the religious beliefs and spread the gospel and if they still aren't religious it's okay
We did our part of it and it's their choice
      We respect it

As a Christian, myself, I don't see him going to hell. He could repent of his sin, and God would accept it provided he doesn't repeat. He might have repented the first time when he committed adultery. Therefore, God didn't punish those who told a small lie.
However, when he committed the egregious sin against the young man who ultimately was forced into another path, then ministry, God wasn't having anything to do with that. Notice that the young man's life wasn't totally destroyed for telling the little lie of "not me", even though God says though shall not lie? That is because that lie was probably forgiven when he asked for it.
If and when Mr. Charming decides to repent, God won't bail him out, he will have to be that perfect Christian before he even gets a small reward here on earth. As he chooses to keep with God, or not isn't for us to be concerned with. God has a worse hell for those that know of God, but refuses his word. That is a death, I would not want.

People seem really divided on the last story. Personally, I don't entirely think it's the OP's fault, she got a bad therapist that tore apart her perception of her life and relationship and used the vulnerable, intimate nature of their bond as patient-therapist to do it. You've got to remember that as her therapist, she's giving them every ounce of trust she has and they couldn't see something good for what it was, broke it, createe even more problems for the OP to deal with mentally/emotionally than they did before. They even convinced her that it was the right thing to do for several years before the OP figured out they were wrong.
That therapist either needs reeducation or a new carrier path because that is not okay.

Story 1: So much for "thou shalt not bear false witness" and "thou shalt not commit adultery". I swear, the more religious they are, they more they believe their own rules don't apply to them. Stuff like this, and the many bad actions of Mr. Charming (if you can even remotely call him that) are big reasons why more and more people are steering away from religion nowadays. The revenge the OP and Fred took on him was great. Too bad Mr Charming and the old pastor didn't lose their jobs after all of this, but i do find it funny and fitting that he ended up just being a shelf stocker afterwards. Glad to hear that OP did much better later on in life too, and hopefully Fred did too.
Story 2: OP isn't a jerk here, but definitely a dunce and really needs to move on here. You're basically obsessed here and its really not good nor healthy. You realized the mistake of breaking up with him, but you also need to realize that he's gone from your life forever... especially when the OP was the one to originally say they wanted no contact. I honestly dont get why the OP wanted to have a 'glamourous' nightlife when she had a pretty good life with he ex and his daugther.... to each their own i guess. If i were the OP, i would just try and accept that he is gone and has moved on.

Why wait that long just to say you want someone back after they've established another relationship? It IS creepy...
ESPECIALLY when young children that you've bonded with are involved.

That lady from the seconds story just sounds like an absolute toxic mess. Not to go all weird-o man-o-sphere or anything but there is a certain type of life style that some woman kind can run into where they're constantly chasing glamorous urban life styles at the cost of social and family connection. They get told by social media that they can 'have it all' when in realty no one can do that. You gotta find that balance that works best for you, not what social media tells you should chase.

story 2: typical western female therapists. It's amusing seeing how other women keep going to "therapy" with another woman, who encourages and enables someone to do such things. There's a saying where I'm from, men are problem solvers while women are good listeners. If you want to dump something off your chest you go to a woman therapist, but god forbid you go to one to find a way how to fix a problem. I've been listening to these stories for a while now, and this is a recurring theme which is hilarious. Seeing so many therapists going for patient retention than actually helping to fix their problems. Warning someone of the downsides of a choice and inherent risks is the most basics of offering advice. If your therapist isn't highlighting your flaws and instead is enabling you, you're getting played.

I think that Mr. Charming's wife is the way that she is meaning she radiated bitterness, resentment and repressed anger because she was well aware of her husband's ways towards the youth. I mean this guys was hitting on junior high to college age students. Now I don't know if my denomination is the same is the original poster's but mine if are a junior high you are at least in grade 6. To be in grade 6 you are normally 11 - 12 and mister charming was 40+ (meaning 40 - 49) so the age gap could have possibly been as large as 38 years years. No wonder why people says mister charming is a world class creep.

Last Story - OP is the biggest jerk, pls don't become an even bigger jerk to connect with him. A smart man will not accept a stupid woman who throws away the best life has to offer even if you all had a good time together before. Guaranteed he is not stupid. Leave him/them alone and don't stalk anyone, it makes you a desparate cheap trash.
Therapy does not help all the time, use your brain/intuition or go read more about happy couples' lives. I don't understand why you would live your life according to someone else's words. Also, you need to grow up and stop comparing and being materialistic - remember this is what you get for your past actions, so change your attitude because it is your attitude that directs your actions.
Sorry for the harsh words but hope they wake you up.

For that last story it seems like her therapist wasn't really a good therapist. Her therapist said she should understand herself better which I agree with but completely shutting off and closing off your relationship with others is never a good idea. She wasn't burdening her partner and even so if this guy is going to be there with her for a while I'm sure he would want to help. That's not like she would be a malignant trauma dumper. Shit therapist. shit decision. shit outcome. no big surprise.

Day 3 of asking for these stories because I cannot post on reddit, my parents don't want me on it, (rightfully so,) but I have a couple stories, and I really want to get mine into a video.
Crazy Lady From my school wants Me to leave the bathroom because a smaller kid peeked under the stall, and I got mad.
So, for reference I was in the 5th grade at this point, and I was in the bathroom minding my business, doing... what you would usually do in there, when this kid smiling runs up to the stall and peeks under, I yelled in both Suprise and anger. he was probably in about 2nd grade, so he should've known better at this point.
I was in the downstairs bathroom, because, at the time the upstairs bathroom was gross as hell. A lady nearby says: Hey! stop yelling at little kids you are older! You have lost your BATHROOM PRIVEGES. I'm sorry, What?!?!! Schools are so controlling. I denied and told her what happened. she did not care at all. She continued to count down to call the principle over this. she came and ended up acting really chill (which is not usual) and waited for me to be done. I asked for her to be talked to, (I really just wanted this lady fired) but I don't think she was ever punished, nor the kid.
Am I the Jerk for yelling?
Random karen get mad for me saying excuse me. This is a rather short story but I will tell it anyways, I was at the arcade with my dad. And this lady and her baby was in the way of the claw machine That I wanted to use. She wasn't using it I think she was just changing a diaper. I politely asked: "Excuse me"
I lost, and we moved on bu. She went through the effort to go all the way around. And yell and: Excuse me!!!! with her horrid breath in my face.
Am I the jerk for- Nah.
Crazy principle won't hear that I that I zoned out. So I was just getting done with recess and kind of just put a Hulu hoop down on the ground.
And the Recess duty, Asks me to put it away I zone back in and ask her what she said And she was already calling the office over this. I told her that this was a misunderstanding and I zoned out And she said that that was somehow worse! I got sent to the office, And had to wait for my crappy school lunch for like an hour more than my classmates. Someone finally gets inherent of course. It's the vice principle who's always Super mean for no reason. I just explained what happened and she said. Okay, are you never explained it again? That it was by accident and it might happen again. I'm not one to just lie, And say it will never happen again. Just cause they want me to. But she kept repeating like a broken record player and Kept saying do you understand?? do you understand?!?!?! Am I the jerk for zoning out
