This is true! People tend to forget that, I think. Thanks for watching & for your comment! Which band do you think came the closest live to their recorded sound?
Ok, to be honest, I usually cannot hear a real difference in comparison test like this, but here I DID! Guitar A sounded SO much better! B got nasally, and C even more! I sure hope for the snobs that A was the SG!
Hey, thanks for watching & for your comment! I actually used the cheap Strat knockoff on my last album, but not on the humbucker. The single-coil sounds on that thing are great! Again, the vast majority of listeners aren't going to hear the subtilties, so I could've gotten away with nearly any of my single-coil thangs, but I liked this one that day, so away we went.
Negligible differences at best; any one of those would be perfectly fine for live use. I have "upgraded" pickups in two different guitars and I was honestly disappointed each time. The humbucker swap yielded very little difference and the single coils I upgraded didn't sound as good as the stock pups. Live and learn!
I think you just need what sounds good to your own ear. If you're rockin it, no one listening cares if you sound like the real thing. Unless you're a tribute band, or another guitar player lol. You know, the ones who are there watching with their arms folded.
Holy crud! I did, lol! Man, that's gotta be some kind of subliminal mojo going on there. I suppose I could fix it & change the thumbnail... but I don't know, it might be cool... Thanks for watching & for your very astute comment!
Oh man, I couldn't "unsee" my mistake, lol. I had to go back & change it. I guess somewhere in my deep, dark subconscious I might feel like not all Jems are gems! (Most are pretty good, though!)
Wouldn't you know it, they all sound like guitars with humbuckers. Can't wait for people to claim they can actually tell a difference. Not only that, if we're talking about live bands at stage volume, good luck really hearing the guitar properly anyways. It's too loud to hear the nuances. :P
I couldn't hear a difference to say. I agree with Clark. They're all usable. They all recorded well. If you're claiming you could hear a difference then i honestly think you're lying to protect y9ur fragile ego.
Thanks for watching & for commenting! While there are some minor differences, I wouldn't be embarrassed by any of them. More embarrassed by my singing, lol!
@@damijai7862 Like the tone wood debate, perhaps, it is akin to colorblindness, lets call it "tone blindness" some can hear a difference and others cant, if you cant you wouldn't miss it , and perhaps you would think those that could were crazy, when in fact due to genetics , or too much volume over time, some people hear differently. there is no right or wrong, just different skills. i play with my eyes closed and my ears open. sorry if you feel like i pissed in your cornflakes, but if it tastes bad don't eat it. what was you saying about ego...?
A 71 SG with a Bigby. Cool stuff. 👍
Usually the band that makes a recording doesn't sound EXACTLY like their own recording when playing live.

guitar "b" sounds somehow more "refined", guitar "c" would be my next choice.

All will be revealed in a week or so! Thank you for watching and for your comment!
I'm rolling with the Chinese strat! Point is there's little difference, so why not the cheapest one?

Yeah, I've made similar mistakes. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment!
To me, guitar C had a more complex sound, with harmonics and overtones more pronounced. A bit more pleasing to these old ears.

Absolutely, that's what I'm hoping to get across to guitarists. Thanks for watching & for your comment!
@@ClarkColborn Cheers, keep rockin!
Ironic that you spelled “Gem” as “Jem”…(Ibanez)😁😁

@@ClarkColborn you're the only one who knows which guitar is which.. the differences were too minor to point out
