I have 9 state titles in high school football. We train HARD Saturday, Monday, Tuesday. We do prehab stretch roll on Wednesday, followed by a CNS activation workout on Thursday. Our kids get a chance to hit a “meditation” type relaxation workout on gameday, followed by an activation workout when their position groups head out for pregame. We focus on 4 week cycles followed by a week of reload. Constrict ROM as you get further in the season, etc…
Coach every coach say that Barbbell better than Machine because of stabilization…… But then Why not Dumbbell better than barbell for the same reason? If most important thing that can use heavy weight then Machine is the best… or most important things are balance and stabilisation then dumbbell is the best? So Coach What do you think about this issue? Why Barbbell?
The barbell is much more variable in terms of whole body exercises for improving trunk stability. Exercises like snatch, clean, jerk, back squat, front squat, and single leg squat all improve balance and stability. The barbell allows for much greater weights to be lifted for the athlete which allows for greater force development which is applicable to most sports. We still use dumbbells and are great for stability. Especially, doing alternating dumbbell movements, but they should be looked at as accessory movements to the main barbell movements. Hope that helps 👍
So I'm trying to get ready for next season because I'm not playing this year, I'm currently trying to loose weight and when I get to my goal weight I wanna start lifting to get ready for football. Should I focus on loosing weight right now or should I like "prepare" for when I get to weight lifting. Sorry if it dosent make sense
We actually get this a lot. You can still get stronger while trying to lose weight. The main aspect is making sure you are at a caloric deficit. You need to burn more calories than you are taking in. Keep weight training and improve your nutrition. This will get you in a much better position for next season. We promise you 👍
I’m a senior this year and I play center I used to be really good in the past and I start this year but I am having trouble getting off the ball and am having trouble moving the guys I have to block I am 5’10 210lbs any tips you recommend for me
@@Kreepzex Hey man. I would recommend talking to your coaches about technique. But to be honest, we have a lineman speed training program that we think could legitimately help and improve your performance during the season. If you're interested you can check it out here 👉 www.garagestrength.com/products/how-to-get-faster-speed-program | Make sure you check off the LINEMAN option
