The way I see it, The chaos invasion is already underway turn 1. You have chaos factions all over the place. they are just separate problems, easier to deal with but still horrifying when you think of them in total. It is just that they incorporate into the regular game without any real impact. I agree that this suggested mode sounds more fun. Instead of making them just a good fraction of the total factions you have them all hit at turn 100-150, having something to play further into the game for.
Exactly. Right now Valkia is someone who I take out in about eight turns with Malekith. However, having her show up with a ton of stacks late on, with the potential to cause enough corruption that I wind up with a serious Bloodthirster problem emerging too would be far more fun and challenging.
I definitely feel like it would be a more engaging and climactic ending than we have right now. Personally I turn off the endgames because I don't find them enjoyable at all, but this I would happily play through, specially with the Chaos factions being held in reserve for that ending, rather than being overexposed like they are now.
Would be cool to see. I think in that mode you're suggesting maybe if you play as a chaos faction you are setup like a mini invasion that is tasked at least in part to cause as much damage as you can before some untold event happens (Archaon's invasion) at which point it'd also be cool to see an option to join the big chaos force or split off and try to claim all the glory for yourself. I think there should definitely be thematic buffs and rewards for each option so that it's narratively incentivised. As a general observation I feel like a lot of the quests and narrative things in the game just aren't that compelling to go after gameplay wise. But overall I love the series and have been playing them for a while.
In warhammer 3, if you send 2 or 3 stacks to invade whatever, it will confront a megazord empire of whatever faction and will be vaporized from the existence in 2 turns. In my opinion, turn 50 at minimum, and maby turning back with the magic pool, wich in w3 you just can make a carpet bombing of death wing or whatever magic cheat.
I actually do like Daniel :) I would like to see a Chaos endgame option. I would also like to set the turn time range for them individually. Dynamic Disasters mod does this, but is out of date alot. Makes a thematic gameplay so much more fun example, Vampires and Tomb Kings kicks off turn 50-60 at 50%. Greenskins at turn 55-65 at 75%. Chaos and Chaos Dwarfs happen at turn 65-75 at 100%. Skaven at turn 80 at 75%. Before Warhammer TW I never got into the setting so some lore things for me don't matter as much as die hard loyalists. I love this game tho
Interesting thought. I like the suggestion, hope that CA works on it. Having several game modes availalbe would increase playability. But getting rifts back again...? Let's just say that I was really happy with the mod that removed the rifts.
In this instance I'm not talking about the constant pop-ups that Realms of Chaos had (I HATED base WH3), but rather something limited to the Chaos invasions and that could be stopped by closing them and countering the corruption. Basically it's just a way to make the invasion relevant to those factions who aren't based near the poles.
One mode that i would love is, no legendary characters. No legendary lords no legendary heroes. The faction buffs are there but no lord buffs. Lets see how interesting it is when players create their own lords and play some roleplay with customizable armors and weapons like the demon character daniel. There is a mod in warhammer 2 i remember where you could create your lords but it was i think only for high elves.
I reckon they should remove all the demon factions form the vanilla game and make them "Emerge" randomly during the campaign like destroyed beastmen factions or horde Greenskin factions for the same reasons you outlined. Feels weird having Skarbrand and co just having established territories. Should be in vanilla imo. Adn mega factions should also happen towards late mid game.
Yes, I find the presence of daemon factions on the map like normal ones incredibly jarring. Especially 'Daniel'. That Build-a-Bear stuff should be player only.
@@WarmasterMoloch Yeah, I really like your ideas about, I guess story/immersion type suff. And the way that the game seems to go out of it's way to make the awesome and amazing/terrifying seem mundane. It's not so much 'bad', it's just missed opportunities everywhere. A tiny bit of fluff/storytelling here and there (without needing to impinge at ALL on sandbox freedom) would go a long way IMO.
I agree...but warhammer 2 chaos invasion was terrible...it was a few predictable places where chaos invaded.....and at the end I believe you killed archaon, kholek and sigvald and they all vanished. A better way is a mix of narrative and playable mechanic....your suggestion of massive defensive elven force, dwarf etc is good...we need massive stacks...and somehow re-tweaked version of lighting strike....the dumbest thing CA did was add two skill points to reach lightining strike and compensated that with increasing skill points from 30 to 50. I actually liked the limited way to tone your LL heroes etc. also realm of chaos should be brought back into immortal empire...and player should travel to hell and defeat the daemons there in an incredibly hard final battle (with intelligent battle AI) to vanquish evil once and for all....also make nagash incredibly a force to reckon with.
The game in general needs more narrative to the campaign (i.e. interesting things going on). Currently the whole thing is just a fishbowl where everyone eats up provinces and you see which guys come out as the biggest; it's boring and has no story to it. For example if you play as Empire, your "allies" / fellow civilized nations feel mostly passive and useless. There really needs to be a "front line" that nations all rally to in order to fight chaos. Think LOTR, Wheel of Time, hell, Warhammer lore itself - everything is against the backdrop of rallying and going to fight a larger enemy. WH 3 is totally the opposite - it's just a clusterf*ck.

That would liven up the end game, I would love that.

Yeah better endgame is needed
