I am a Malaysian, close to 70. I started learning Chinese in school when I was about 7. But we were also taught English and Malay in addition to some traditional subjects, passing of some of which are compulsory for promoting to the next grade, such as science, maths, history and geography. I have never stopped learning Chinese, spoken and written. Today, I believe of the 3 languages I was taught in school, my Chinese remains the weakest although I am an ethic Chinese. You intend to learn in 3 months. That is a lot of confidence bth in you and your school. Btw, you are speaking quite well although probably not so confident with your vocabulary; also my weakness.
Great respect for making the effort and commitment to learn the language of the country you now live in. That is the only way you can look forward to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding the culture and people of China.

Congrats on the gig @ Omeida (Say hello to Anya!). As to the formation of so called karst topography. Remember the limestone is composed mostly of CaCO3 (calcium carbonate). Groundwater is naturally slightly acidic (atmospheric CO2 is dissolved and forms a weak carbonic acid). Reactions between carbonate mineral and acidic water alters carbonate to bicarbonate ions which increases the solubility of calcium. Exposure to atmosphere and oxidising conditions causes the opposite: outgassing of CO2, the formation of calcified or 'hard water' and stalactite/stalagmites. Hope this helps!
Big Lee needs to sign up as well! If he's staying in SZ, I'd recommend Shenzhen University. They have an intensive Chinese program which is very good. 👍

Hey Oli! Good to know that you're starting your Chinese lessons soon, and I can tell that you really mean this seriously from the pronunciation of your Chinese. I won't expect every Chinese learner can master the intonation and accent of Chinese since the language system is very different from the Europeans, but every time when you pronounce a word nicely and carefully, it sounds very different to a native speaker. So, wish you good luck! BTW, the geography of Guangxi Province is quite unique so there are many caves in that region. Please be careful when you explore them and better not go there alone.

Hello from Texas. Thank you to share your experience in China. Guangxi is similar but different from Shenzhen. You will love it. My grandfather and grandmother used to live at Liuzhou city, not far from your new place.
About how these hills/mountains were formed: This is called Karst landform and if you move towards northwest in Guangxi (the direction of Guizhou) and visit Hechi (河池)and Libo (荔波)you’ll see basically a max version of Yangzhou. Welcome to Guangxi . I'm from Guangxi. I studied in Guangxi normal University in Guilin. These mountains are formed by crustal movement, but as Guangxi people we don't climb the original mountains, we climb the mountains where roads have been built. I admire you for going to the mountain without other people. May I remind you pay attention to safety? The daily necessities you see may have been left by homeless tramps. It is recommended that you take a boat trip to Lijiang River, see the beautiful mountains and river, eat Guilin rice noodles, Gongcheng oil tea, and Pingle 18 brewed meat .
Great video. Fantastic drone footage. Interesting history commentary. Stay safe. Don't go alone into strange places.
Yangshuo is very scenic and beautiful. I will want to visit again. Many foreigners will stay there for a month or two before continuing their journey to other parts of China.
You are so lucky! I have never been to this lovely beautiful place!
Wow, I've never been there, but it's
really a beautiful natural city from your video.
Love seeing the evolution of your life there, in China. So encouraging to watch.
Wish you the best in Yangshuo. Your current Chinese pronunciation is very impressive.
Hello from Texas. Thank you to share your experience in China. Guangxi is similar but different from Shenzhen. You will love it. My grandfather and grandmother used to live at Liuzhou city, not far from your new place.
remind me of playing minecraft when you went out from the cave, world is amazing
About how these hills/mountains were formed: This is called Karst landform and if you move towards northwest in Guangxi (the direction of Guizhou) and visit Hechi (河池)and Libo (荔波)you’ll see basically a max version of Yangzhou. Best wishes from a fan of your channel( I lived in Yangzhou to study English 10 yrs bf and was born in Hechi).
好吧,为了鼓励你说中文,我留个言,我通过你的视频学英文,加油!
I was in Yangshuo back in 2018. I love this very nice little town. You should not miss the Li River Show "Liu Shan Jie". It is really spectacular. Happy for you Olie that you decided to learn Mandarin. Jia yow.
I am glad to hear that you are going to further study Mandarin, which will make it easier for you to experience the charm of Chinese culture!
My wife get pregnant after went to Yangshuo, which we prepare for more than a year. Yangshuo is our lucky city. We will go there again after kid get bigger. Have a good time there!
Check out the Romance Park. It's a cool Theater. Calm places in China can really bring you down and relax. Enjoy some special Bamboo Baijiu 😁 and not to forget the silver cave.
You say you're learning slowly but youre pronunciation and stuff is pretty darn good already
also, that's a beautiful city
This is a special landform, which exists in many places in China. if translated into English, can be called "Karst landform", Chinese called "喀斯特地貌"
Glad to see you already have a nice time at Yangshuo! and kindly remind that it is quit dangerous for a beginner to fly a dji FPV in the city, especially when you are not familiar with the control. please make more practice at open fileds and enjoy your new equipment!
这段时间一直在下雨,等雨停了。找个机会去阳朔跟你来个偶遇!
I like your positive attitude to the life in China and your comment about China without bias. Enjoy yourself in Guangxi!
These type of limestone hill/formations is known as Krast. Halong Bay, Vietnam is similar but in the sea.
Karst mountains. But in Yunnan they look a bit different.
I have been to Yangzhou. There are many bars with beautiful design inside and outside. You will love this place for sure.
Oli, that is a good move to enroll yourself at Omeida.
All the best.....I know you'll do well. ✌👍
陽朔is so~~~~ beautiful!! I have been there once and was so amazed!!! It is good that you can learn Chinese in a school. I can't wait to watch your ALL Chinese video in the future.
It's been a lot of years since I was in Yangshuo but is sure was a great place then. Even ran into a few friends from Nanning there.
I am a Mandarin teacher from HK and I would say the Chinese words you speaks in this video is perfect without any accent. Keep it up💪🏻As you are young and smart you are able to speak fluent Mandarin in a year.
Thanks Jess 😄
