Thanks for watching. I’m just getting started trying to figure out how to video while sailing.

I’m new to sailing and I bought me a 22 foot hunter 1984 about a year ago and I’ve been working on it. Haven’t even had it in the water yet but man it looks awesome. I can’t wait till I get mine out. There seems so peaceful.

I have a Catalina 22 that I purchased several years ago from one of the guys in the Dixie Sailing Club. I like the modification you made for bringing the lines to the cockpit on your boat. I have not seen one like you have. I'll be looking into a setup like that. I'm currently remaking some of the wood slides for the sliding hatch and the crib board holders. I also just repaired my sliding hatch as it was broken in the front middle section. Nice sailing.

The lines were already brought the cockpit when I bought the boat. I do like it though. We typically put the main up at the dock and wait till we get out of the narrow entrance to put up the jib. I can stand on the floor of the bench in the cabin and lean against the companionway sides and feel safe and secure in case the boat heels over too much when we first put the jib up.

Would you recommend the brown covering you have on the seats in the cockpit? I have seen that on many boats and it looks fantastic, but how does it weather? Does it hold water or shed it? Have a link?

This will be the 3rd summer with the deck covering. It is closed cell foam so it does not hold water. It really dressed up the cockpit. My cockpit had old epoxy that was spilled on it by previous owner and it did not look good at all. It is a medium density foam I would say. I have not noticed any weathering yet. It seems to hold up well. I have nicked it once when I dropped my tiller and the metal end corner hit the foam and nicked the top, but that was my fault. I don’t think I would want a big dog on it a lot as I think they might damage it with their claws. I don’t think I would want to put it on the floor of the cockpit with all of the foot traffic and such, but I am very happy with it. Only real issue I anticipate is when I want to remove it. I used some 3m spray adhesive to put it down. Based on how it has done over two hot summers and sailing, I don’t see any reason it can easily make it to 5 years or more.
