I use a microfiber cloth on my swiffer instead of their cleaning pads. I just tuck the corners of the cloth into the little holes. Works great.
Yep! Same here and i just use a cleaning product that i like. I found the floor wipes you buy for the swiffer to be expensive, not to mention bad for the planet
I saw a cleaning lady in my office doing this awhile back ago & I was duh why didn't I think of that 😂. Definitely a cost saver doing it this way.
OMG I was running to the comments to say the same thing. Microfiber cloths are the best cleaning hack ever! And you can use that swiffer to clean, walls, glass, ceilings etc.etc.etc........
It's so refreshing to see a normal home , it's so cute and cosy, I'm in Australia and lots of houses like this when I look up cleaning videos it always comes up with massive fancy brand new homes and i can't relate😅

I am absolutely happy with my Swiffer even if I don’t really use them for my floors. 😄 I have a steam mop for that.
I use Swiffer for my walls actually. It‘s lightweight and our walls are high and I can reach them easily with it. Our home is right by a busy road and our walls look like newly painted whenever I have dustwiped them with Swiffer.
I have also used it a lot for reaching things and might have caught some wall bugs with it as well. So yeah, it’s pretty useful to me, just not for floors except for emergency wiping when I don’t feel like bringing the steam mop out.

You can get a lint roller that's a kind of sticky gel, you just rinse it under the tap and reuse 👌
One of my favorite things is a good book or magazine after spending time cleaning house. Day off today and it was a crummy rainy day here in Chicago. Got lots of cleaning and organizing done and even decluttered five or six things. Now it’s nice and cozy! You did a great job on your place - even Samson was admiring the front stairs. ❤

I just ordered a gray velvet accent chair for my livingroom. It brings a modern vibe and was less than 200. But expensive look. It makes all the difference and is a comfy place for guests to plop down and visit awhile!!

Yes, it is so much more satisfying when your home is clean and you have done all your tasks for the day. I noticed how fast the reset was comparing it to your older videos. Not even remotely the same amount of things. I noticed it in my own appartement as well. Now that so many things are gone it feels a lot better and cleaning is so much faster
Good morning Carla! Thank you for the well wishes last week when I was sick with covid and couldn't clean. I am doing better now. Anyway, I regretted the Swiffer as well however I use it to clean my large bathroom mirrors and windows. Also great to wipe down the cabinets especially the high ones. I use a microfiber towel or any cleaning rag and just stuff it into the little holes. Works great for so many other things and not great for the floors lol. I use it all the time. Just an idea in case you decide to keep it. Have a great day 😊
Oh I forgot. They even sell a washable pad that attaches to the Swiffer that I really want to buy. I will use it for the mirror and windows like I said. And the cabinets and walls. No Swiffer for the floor tho lol. The vacuum works better. ✌️

You can get reusable pads made to fit on Swiffers. I use one on my Swiffer and spray Windex on my floor when I mop. The advantage of using Windex is you don't need to rinse it off.
oh man windex is an instant migraine trigger for me. that and pine sol are my biggest ones!!

My fridge gets the same and always has coffee grounds all over on multiple shelves even though I put a sealed package back in each time. The music you used over the bedroom segment had me shoulder dancing. Great reset video, thanks as always.

I highly recommend the Furminator pet grooming tool. It gets the undercoat out too, and you just push the fur off in a neat little bundle straight into the garbage. Also the Fur-b-gone brush and broom. Picks it up off any surface.
i have it it is awesome!! samson is the kind of dog that you can brush forever and fur never stops coming off literally!!!

For the swiffer, I use cheap washcloths. Dampen them or use dry. Toss in the wash or out. Works well for me
PS I use a lifeheit flat mop. One can use it dry or weet and there even is a tank and sprayer included. Just using water Werth vinegar. Reusable pads. I'm onehanded and it's the best system for me bc easy to use and efficient. U dont need both hands for it.

Those swiffer pads give me a migraine also, and that's what I use is a microfiber cloth. I put some hot water in a bucket a quarter cup of baking soda, quarter cup of vinegar and two drops of dish soap. Smells so good!!!

Hi Carla, I love those sheets. Makes me what to buy some colorful ones. I always go with a solid white, blue or pink. That said, I notice that you don't have fire extinguishers. I live in a 762 sq foot apartment. I have one in my bedroom the entry door. Walk down the hall and I have one just inside the kitchen. Walk down to my living room and have one that's reachable.
We are getting to a point in this country to where you can't depend of emergency services to be on time...hello Maui tragedy. Please consider getting at least two for your home.
I also for my car have two extinguishers in the trunk of my car for an emergency if need be. You have to think preparedness in this country now. All extinguishers tell on the label what they are good for.

I use that swiffer with a microfiber clothe and use it to clean my shower and walls to save my back and arms. Works great.
Hi there…playing catchup with Carla per usual. Haha I actually got sheets washed and bedroom cleaned up today. It’s going to be nice to go crash in the nice clean bed later. I also used my Swiffer earlier. I’m not sure if you kept the Swiffer, but I would keep it, and if possible, return leftover mop cloths? Trade for some dry ones or microfiber cloths. I never use the mop cloths either, but will use the swiffer pads. I do normally use/do my vacuum, but on occasion, I feel like the swiffer is the way to go…especially for shoving under the bed or getting in snug corners where even the vacuum wand has issues reaching. No tumbleweed fur balls under my bed tonight even. Ahhh 😌 We also have a king size bed and it’s hard to move very far. Swiffer is good for quick clean ups, and with it being really really lightweight, it doesn’t take a toll on my back.
I buy groceries every week or so and I got in the habit of wiping out my fridge before I go. It's easy to do when you are out of food and I can take stock of what I need. I rarely have to do a deep clean now. I do have two refrigerators because I live in the midwest and that's how we roll!

Does your hoover not come with an upholstery tool? Would make those stairs so much easier and can use on sofa etc. Plus the main long floor brush for the floors? You should be able to order them separately from the maker 😊 would save you a lot of work ❤
when it is full size it is not getting the fur and i cant figure out why!! i gotta check if there is a block orfsomething..works amazing when it has the tool on it tho!!❤️
@@TheCarlaProject yeah maybe the brush part isn't spinning properly because of hair caught around it? Mine looks very similar to yours...you can rinse the filter out and let it air dry too...I do it every few weeks to keep it smelling fresh 😀
Try putting the bookcase in the living room to cover the wall heater. You will get more storage space and hide the wall heater that you don't like.
I agree about the swiffer mop smell. I use mine with a paper towel or microfiber cloth…spray with a water/vinegar/soap cleaner and mop the bathroom with it.

The swiffer pads are disappointing, but the mop tool is good. I do just put microfiber cloths on them instead and squirt floor cleaner on the floor. Companies do make fluffy microfiber pads just for sniffers. Those look pretty substantial.
You are the only TH-camr I see using that absolutely amazing spray from Trader Joe's. I truly love that stuff.
I have that swiffer... I love it. But I don't use the pads with it, I use a microfibre cloth exactly as you suggested.
Oh my goodness it's so true always open ur mail. I need to practice this more I just found a check for 77 dollars from my health insurance that they sent me a year ago. Good thing I opened it b4 I sent it to recycle land lol.
That tool would of been nice to have when we had our sweet cuddles she shed so much. B4 u took the tool to the stairs didn't look like there was really any hair... it's crazy how much hair you got off your stairs with that tool. You could probably of made another Samson doggy with all the hair you vacuumed up :)

Over the summer, I brought home piles and piles of junk mail from my dad's house.. from the past 3 years... I'm not sure why, but he opened everything, but then put the junk mail back in the envelopes and stacked everything neatly in the living room.. It was a mess! I found all sorts of dollar bills, postage stamps, coins, calendars, address labels. It took a really long time to sort and recycle everything. I gave him back the money and he was shocked that it was in there. lol.
I love the retro stove and frig. I agree with you on the wet Swiffer, hate the smell and it doesn't clean up to my standards. I use the old fashioned mop and bucket and rinse my floors once washed.
I thought my Ragdoll cat shed a lot... but Samson gets the Olympic Gold Medal!!!

That was an epic stair cleaning ! So satisfying ! I don't get the Swiffer's either due to the smell. I use a vacuum, and then a duster like a Swiffer but with the peel off and wash end. About 9 months ago I got a steam mop for the hardwoods and OMG it's Ahhh mazing. It just uses hot water and you can drip some essential oils on the pad if you want or just use the hot water. It also has peel away pads. I generally buy extras after I know I like it because things change so fast who knows if the pads will be around by the time the ones that it came with wear out. Plus it makes it nice to get a few of them used up before using a whole load just to wash a couple of them.
i keep hearing about steam mops! i will have to check it out and see how big they are...loved the slimness of the swiffer but that was about it! 😅❤️

Yes they are so good and you can get them with removable bits to do the shower tiles and grout and stuff like that. Mine works well even on my (old and rubbish) laminate flooring.

Carla, I tried the Swiffer too and rejected it. I have 4 cats. I’ve gone back to just vacuuming frequently. I thought about getting a robovac but my cats take turns throwing up and I thought it would just spread the mess. I had to laugh at the fridge clean out. I have the same problem. I can’t figure out how it gets so messy from spills when I don’t remember spilling anything!
yessss!! daily vacuuming is my current fate haha. robovac was awesome but doesn't get my corners as well as i do with the little handheld attachment and samsons fur loves to collect in every corner and crevice!!
I use reusable crocheted covers for my swiffer. Got them on etsy. Use those between vacuums to pick up cat hair - but then I only have one cat.
I watch your cleaning and wish I had your energy! I can only do one thing a day and get worn out. But I am older with some disabilities. Never get old! 😂
I love thé fur scraper tool. I use it on the front of my couch bc my shedding machine of a dog likes to rub himself along there. It works great.

We just got the @ViledaCanada ultra max mop system and that thing is amazing! We use water with a bit of industrial strength vinegar and the amount of dirt it lifts is crazy! Plus the mop heads are washable and wash well

You probably have washable filters in your vacuum. I always empty the canister when I’m done and wash all the parts every month or two. It does wonders.

I think the dry swiffer is best for maintenance. I use it three times a week to keep up with my cat. But for a bigger dog and a big cleaning job, that may be more than the dry swiffer can keep up with. Sorry the wet one gave you a migraine. I get them to, though that hasn't been a trigger for me.
oh my it knocked me down for two days!!! commercial cleaning products do that to me...even smell of scrub daddy which i know people love.❤️
