Our July addition to the CAS fleet is this barn find BMW E30 M3 Convertible. Raj takes us through the story behind this iconic classic car, shows you how bad it really is and talks about the future plans. First and foremost... we need to get it started!

With my E30 M3 that was stood a long time I found the injectors were all frozen, I found this after a full new fluids change and fuel tank drain and new fuel, I also turned the S14 over without plugs and a drop of oil in each bore and to pump new oil round the engine first, injectors needed the small nipple on the end pushing back to allow the new fuel through, once clear she started a treat..

Nice find. Seems there are quite a few of those 786 M3 convertibles in the UK, despite the rainy weather :). I bought mine in a similar or worse state 4 years ago also from UK and it is in the final stages of a nut&bolt resto. Some parts really hard to find if you want to make it perfect
Great purchase, hard to dislike an E30 M3 cabriolet. The clean up will be a good episode, they will have their work cut out on this one. Good luck with the service, I think the work for an MOT will be a bit more than oil and spark plugs.........:)

Congratz on the buy... 125 of the 786 cars have Heated Seats and AC, and 17 of them have Black 2 (668) color.
You need to watch some Jonny Smith on how to start cars that have been sat. New fuel, penetration oil bit more TLC
Can’t believe you didn’t take the plugs out & crank the engine over on the crank first of all to make sure it spun ok🙄🤔
The fuel will have gone off I have no doubt at all, drain the tank & put fresh fuel in, clean the plugs for know & it will fire up.👌

I always had a dream to get my hands on one of these e30s old school bmws and mercs etc, but as I live near Heathrow, and ulez nonsense is expanded my dream is shattered unless I move out from London, to have such car maybe a project as these cars are going up in value already, ulez needs to end hope it won't stay long so my dream can come true sooner.
Do it the "cas" way. Restore and bagged... want to see every step done, from south africa

Once the car has been started, MOT’d and detailed, we will then decide if we should sell as is or continue with the restoration process.
