i love how jonny can ace batshit crazy cultist voice no problem but his american accent sounds like he ate a georgian cosplaying as a texan. 10/10 i love it
This song made a lot more sense to me when i learned the people on the space station did not, in fact, know they were in a space station and that their Idea of a sun was just a fleuroscent lamp
...Oh. I mean, I knew intellectually that they were in a space station, but for some reason I just kept imagining a desert planet, ya know, western cowboy movies style, even though the space station part doesn't really fit in that mental image. But now...yeah, the sun would be scary as f for them...specially since they actually are gonna fall into it
Well, the Ghouls have seen the sun as part of a coming-of-age ritual, in fact I believe Marius stared into it for a few days because he didnt know it was supposed to be extremely taxing and dangerous, and now they think he's a messiah
And this album is why I’m doing a cowboy campaign in dnd with the theme of a desert station covered in the searing heat, save us soon before we all fall into the fire of the bedamned orb of flames
ESPECIALLY that last chorus, if mechs songs were mixed better i think i'd get actual chills. sometimes this band just does like way too good for no reason i don't get it how are so many people so talented I'm sad now
honestly this isn't even the catchiest mechs song and yet it's my favorite. probably just cause i love how extra jonny is. love me a song where the artist loves to be singing it
I love the idea of performing, and I desperately want to do theatre. This is slightly hampered by crippling stage fright, self-doubt, and general hatred of myself. Yesterday I said "fuck it", and performed this very song in a semi-public event, to a room of strangers. It was the first time I've sung out loud in seven or so years, and I slightly stumbled with a sentence or two. But I think my delivery managed to be sufficiently deranged to sell it. So yeah, this song was my personal breakthrough.
Love this song but the thing is that while Jonnys accent here for Galahad is Interesting but it at least nails that old south Georgian fire and brimstone vibes and fits, so like if he could make it work here why does Lavinia stone sound like That
If you would like an apocalypse in a different flavor, go check out The Magnus Archives!! It’s really good and there are a lot of the same voice actors too!!

As a texan I can confirm this description is painfully accurate

My brain: cowboy desert planet
The lore: space station
BIG BRAIN: ARTIFICIAL PLANET THAT IS COWBOY DESERT THAT IS PILOTED BY A SPACE SHIP CORE
Well, the Ghouls have seen the sun as part of a coming-of-age ritual, in fact I believe Marius stared into it for a few days because he didnt know it was supposed to be extremely taxing and dangerous, and now they think he's a messiah
TUBE SUN
this is top tier line delivery tho. you can hear the theater kid jump out but it actually works somehow
What are fire and brimstone preachers, if not theater kids
Exactly. Once you see multiple preachers like that, you start to recognize their style
I wish I had found this for a drama club performance
When I'm older, I want this man's intense chaotic good energy
Yeah yeah Arthur + Lancelot + Guinevere are a great love story, but they don't hold a candle to Galahad + yelling about Hellfire
And Galahad and Brian, ofc. I’m imagining a spider-man style kiss scene except Galahad burns his lips and takes it as a prophetic event.
Fr like this changed how I imagined Galahad ‘looked’ like; I had to yassify him
Everything Galahad says is the most intense thing I have ever heard
And this album is why I’m doing a cowboy campaign in dnd with the theme of a desert station covered in the searing heat, save us soon before we all fall into the fire of the bedamned orb of flames
how did it go?
2:50 jeesus christ Jonny needs to sing in his higher resister more often, that is STUNNING.
I mean have you listened to the beginning of Our Boy Jack? I still haven’t recovered from beauty of it

Them bones, them bones, them drryyy -- Ahem, I mean, hellfire!
Also interesting -- Galahad in the myths is the son of Lancelot. Hmm.
"thigh bone's connected to the, hip bone! :D"

This is what it's like going to a private school.
TRUE
This is second hellfire video. Please eleborate
Katie go look at a private school. Even better if it’s a religious one on Chapel Day. You will either understand or perish. Or both.
@@kninenights I am pretty sure there are no religious private schools where I live, but I will take your word for it

i am SO proud of you

That's great!! I want to do something similar and your story is awesome :))
FUCK YES
This hits different when it's one o'clock on the first Wednesday of the month.
Anthem of Arizona in the summer
Yeah I can agree with this because I went there in December and it was still warm
sound of the summer
As someone who has experianced religious trauma, this song hits hard.. Still a bop though!
I hope everyone in this comment section knows they adapted this song from Dem Bones, aka "foot bone's connected to the leg bone"
the beginning is so ominous i love it
Jonny really sells this song. Love it. This is the best Mechs album I've yet listened to.

On purpose, to fuck with the listeners ofc. Murder isn’t Jonny’s only passion!
They offer apocalypses in different flavors now . . .

god this is such a banger
Idk if it's on purpose but he has a perfect Jim Jones impression. [don't look him up if you enjoy liking humanity]
galahad was spittin straight hellfire with this one
Just wanted to say I appreciate someone making a lyrics video. They’re always helpful to me. So thank you.
:)
you're welcome :)
its "orb of damnation"??! I always sang it as "auburn damnation"
Looking at these lyrics video really makes me realise how wrong I am with what I think they're singing.
Probably because they’re talking about an actual sun, not whatever artificial light they think is a sun
Same meaning, really
@@dragoncatentertainment7462 this song is tube sun erasure
this song gave me intense physical damage in a fun way? slight religious trauma over here

that escalated quickly ^^
OK OOF
wait at the beginning is he talking about *the sun*????
