a couple of things - it took me 23 seconds to realize that Jonny starts out bc he is the KING of character voices - Toy Soldier gets up to a G5 in its verse, which im pretty sure is its highest note in any Mechs album
I found this song through a random shitpost meme mentioning that this album was set in space and had canon queer representation, and I had never even heard of the mechanisms before but came faster than the speed of light
this album makes me wanna read Once and future king and I just know how fucking pissed im going to be seeing guineviere cheating and lancelot being an asshole and arthur not in a healthy poly relationship
Literally this song invented romance. The number of times I have listened to this and wanted to cry because they were just so fucking in love is insane.
I do appreciate that Jonny and the others subverted the idea that the only thing to fix the tragedy of Camelot is a poly relationship between the three. Like yeah no, fate and their individual faults still lead them to tragedy but hey, at least they never broke apart this time. And I find that better then a 'love conquers all' narrative.
