Moral of the story: If youre going to build an AI you better be prepared to raise it properly. To this day I still hate that Frankenstein couldnt even bother to name their creation😒
@@RaeNapier64 Interesting when I read it I thought the creature was simply comparing himself to the biblical Adam rather than giving himself an actual name. I guess we'll never know because I don't think he ever introduced himself by that name at any point in the original novel
@@amphitritemists4595 oh yeah it was 100% a comparison to the biblical Adam but a lot of interpretations of it also have it as Adam naming himself, sort of sarcastically as Victor didn’t seem to care about naming him
@@firetarrasque4667 funny thing, from what the book tried to tell, this reinterpretation is way closer than every adaption beside the portrail in Penny Dreadful. They changed Frankensteins gender, they changed the whole setting, they changed the genre and still this is closer to the original in its themes, the characterisation of the crature and the overall message
I personally like the headcanon that this one is set somewhere around the same place as The Prisoner of Dorian Grey, since they're both more "modern" classic literature.
Okay so if each iteration is an attempt we can probably assume that each is about the same length so 3872*9 = 34848 minutes roughly 24 days That doesn't even count any long iterations or set up times, oof
Okay so I got reccomended this by a friend. Been meaning to get into The Mechanisms for a while but never found the time. The ending TOTALLY caught me off guard but I think I loved it even more for that?? Thank you for making this lyric video because I do not think I'd be able to get through this otherwise. Gotta check out more of The Mechanisms.
for some reason this is my favorite song of them all, its such a well rounded song of good traits, like, Oof i still get shivers about the story it tells and the NOTES they sing, oh my gosh, the AI's part, and frankenstein's high note of "Never" and then revealing its only a cycle, Oof
@@meliamanning7541 oh shit someone finally anticaptes that i got the pic from mbmbam and actually know nothing about french flick Amelie - ive gotten so many comments about my supposedly good movie taste w this thing lmaoo
Holy god, with each song my love for this band grows. I love it when they take an existing story and create a new one 7:35 This is just effing beautiful. Their singing, the way their voices blended together. And also the "no name" thing. If only the AI was treated like a being with emotions, like a person, instead just a thing to be used then discarded once it does something unexpected...
thank you SO MUCH for making these, I'm pretty fluent in english but I never completely understand songs, you're making it sooo much easier with the lyrics! it's the one band where I need to understand everything
0:00 Scene I
1:02 Scene II
4:55 Scene III
8:25 Scene IV
The line "The strings that you wrote have converted to ropes, they are binding and chaining me tight" is so fucking sick
Same with the lines
"In your anger all I ever had was burned"
"And from who do you think all my rage was learned?"
“And from who do you think all my rage was learned?”
honestly. the deadpan "failure" gave me shivers.

yeah, in no iteration ever they will win the parent of the year award
In the OG Shelley the creature is named Adam naming himself “the Adam of your(victors) creation” so yeah victors a shit dad but it’s still a name

God every time Raphaella sing in that low tone, my soul completely leaves my body. Like holy shit wow
Omg the neverending cycle made a chill go down my spine holy shit
It is horrefying as hell
That repeat at the end rarely fails to make me shiver
The moments at 0:01 and 9:09 are identical, except for *minor alterations to Jonny's voice*
"and from who do you think all my rage was learned?" that's sooooo powerful like. the AI is exactly what you made it to be, Frankenstein.
See people this is why you don't mess with AI, I have no mouth and must scream should have already taught us that.
This is a really cool retelling. Love the whole IA as the creature concept
This is a terrible adaptation of Frankenstein, if I'm going to be honest, but as a standalone story it is *very* good.
@@firetarrasque4667 I don't think that it is supposed to be an adaption. More like a reinterpretation of some parts from the original.

'You're responsible for all I've ever been' now that is one hell of a line
This makes me imagine what I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream would be like as a musical

Me, watching this for the first time: what happens at 7:35???
OH THAT HAPPENS! HOLY MOLY THE AWESOME!
7:35 i am already crying they did not have to pull this

you're welcome! understanding lyrics can be hard (lyrics videos saved my life so many times)
i’m fluent in english I still can’t understand them sometimes
Oh *chilling*
This song just makes me sad, the AI only wants a friend
Officially my new fav mech song
As a Frankenstein fan, I am so glad to come across this
well... at least this one COULD have a happy-ish ending.... eventually... for the ai...
holy shit that is so clever
i know this is supposed to be based of frankenstein but it reminds me alot of i have no mouth and i must scream
Oh same! The AI full of rage (as you’ve made it), the creator or human refusing what it wants and getting irrevocably changed, unable to die…
Thank you so much for making these videos!! They're seriously amazing
you're welcome! thank you!
Frankensteins monster is just AM with patience
My girlfriend showed me the mechanisms and this is my favourite song from them
Person who only ever read ihnmaims (me) voice: Getting a lot of ihnmaims vibes from this🤔
Wait what happens at 7:35??
Oh wow that happened, that's so cool
I.. I'm really late but can someone explain to me how the casting works? How come the AI has two people singing?
I think it might be three? And it's probably to give it a non-human/artificial quality to its voice
@@scouttyra Oh that's cool! Thanks!
Also the description shows exactly who is playing which character for each song :)
5:27 why the soundtrack here seems familiar? Was this inspired by smth?
Um, actually Frankenstein was the doctor
i can't tell if you're trying to make a joke or not
The twat wasn’t even a doctor he was a college dropout mummy’s boy and a shit dad
Technically in the actual book Frankenstein hadn't even graduated college ^^'
So wasn't even a doctor until the movies😅
