Hi Guys!! In today's video, I'm giving you the rundown on the things that I did in order to graduate in the top of my class in law school! It all started with my first semester of law school where I got finished out with over a 3.9 gpa and in the top 5% of my class. Watch this to see what I did to accomplish this.

Quick Notes:
1. Have a consistent study routine.
2. Cut down social life.
3. Go to class, pay attention, & outline from the beginning.
4. Get an accountability partner.
5. Practice issue-spotting and practice exams.
6. MEMORIZE and learn how to apply the concepts (through practice).
7. Don’t be afraid to talk to the professor.
8. Have a strong and flexible Mindset - don’t give up and lean on your support system. Remember why you enrolled in the first place.

I'm struggling out here. It's a lot to memorize
I failed 3 times, i lost money to reviews that never helped but the major thing is that I've not lost hope
Passing the LSAT is when you study hard,if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself help like Mr Thomas
I had interest in working with him but I was discouraged by my friends out of ignorance 😔
I have a cousin who never studied much,we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing LSAT, she passed and I failed😣, I asked her how she did it, just found out she got her help from Mr Thomas ..
Sometimes hard work doesn’t pay you have to back it up with smartness🤓, I think your cousin understood that perfectly

YES Practice Exams are so important! Studying without tailoring it to the test is pointless. Learned that the hard way first semester lol

I came back a second time to hear your motivation as I, as an older student, am in week three. Reality is setting in, yet I hear your voice in my head talking about how you were "chill" during your exam. So, thank you and, Lord willing, I will give you an update after my final exam.😄
I got accepted into university of Minnesota law school! I’m nervous/excited.
I’m super late but I just failed my midterms and feel like a total failure. I thought i had the grasp but golly this helps! Thank you. 😊
THANK YOU for being honest about the type of insane commitment I expect law school to be. I’m an incoming 1L and I personally do expect do not have a social life from August-December but I see a lot of TH-camrs say this isn’t necessary - I personally am planning on taking this really seriously so I’m glad to have someone who’s been through it validate my feelings 😂
You’re welcome! Everyone’s experience is difference but for my circumstances I was ready to make the sacrifice to cut out the socials so I could increase my chances of the best possible outcomes and boy was it worth it! Good luck!!

@@chloeorsamorsofiaormarcus it’s true the legal market can be competitive but if you do well in law school and go to a good school, I’ve found that job prospects are good. It all just depends on what path you want to go down but if you stay focused as you are now, I’m confident you’ll do great 😊 thank you so much for the compliment 💕

What the fuck am i getting into i asked, but, now i am in the books again. i am realizing that everything i want to become requires everything opposite of my habitual lifestyle and the change over is frustrating af. The classes and school do not wait for you, you have to keep up with it and shit, I have no support. For this reason, your videos and videos like it, encourage us to not give up. This is so inspiring!! This is the first time I’ve heard anybody say you CAN get good grades in law school. So thankful for this channel!
I think application really matters. Unfortunately, law school does not give you a lot of time or resources to apply the law. Also, mid-terms really messed me up since I did not get a study week.
I had to learn the hard way by experience. Soon after I realized the correct methodology of study I started having the A's.
What would you suggest is the best method of studying?

I don't have a social life. I have a 6 year old. He'll be 8 by the time I get there. (taking the exam in November for the following fall semester) No girlfriends on facebook wondering where I'm at. My boyfriend will just have to deal with it. And if he is supportive the way I need him to be for those 3 years, maybe I'll marry him. X-D

I’ve probably touched on both of those but not in great detail. I can go in more detail though. I knew since i was a kid (but not really knowing what that meant lol) and I took an LSAT prep course.

Something to add: talk to the precedents who took the same class with the same professor. They will tell you the habits of the professors. An energy savors to get A.
As long as students come to class, do practice questions, do the readings, outline, take good notes, listen and pay attention well to the teacher, and don,t cheat do law school students in America have a high chance of making it through law school?
Got a 3.2 fall semester so I’m looking to ace it in spring semester!

I wish I saw this before I started 😞 a few questions if you don’t mind answering:
1. Will I still do okay if I start outlining now?
2. Did you brief every case? Did you use Quimbee?
3. What did your typical day look like? What I do is get started on reading for the next day. I haven’t done any additional past that like reviewing material.
4. Did you use any supplements?
Quimbee for the win. Don’t waste your time briefing all the facts of all the cases.

I feel you when you said to do practice exams. When I studied abroad as an undergrad, I did a bunch of practice exams for my one politics course and I look at the final and THE QUESTIONS WERE LITERALLY THE SAME!!!

Now that I’m in law school, it’s like so many videos forget to explain the importance of your school being on a C or B curve.
I got all the points in torts intentional torts. But couldn't finish the test in my midterms.

How do you feel about having bf/gf relationships during law school like is that a distraction
Nira Bai if you’re already dating when you start, you just have to prep them. People don’t get it at first but they adjust and it works out fine. If you’re single going into law school, I would say focus on school for your first semester or two until you get the hang of it. I didn’t date at all my first year and it was nice because I didn’t have to stop studying early or feel guilty like some of my friends. 2L was a different story! I started dating and exploring the city a bit more and i actually ended up meeting my boo that year. So I’m not totally against it just make school your priority!
Any advice on books to read before starting law school? I got accepted for fall 2021. Should I go ahead and get the black letter law?
Hey I think your videos are very informative. By chance do you have any advice on how to stay motivated and overcome obstacles. It seems that right when I get close to achieving a career or mental goal some unforeseen obstacle appears that hinders me from my progress and then it takes way too long to rebound.

0L asking here, so might sound really clueless. When you do practice exam, how do you know if you’ve done well? Do you take it to the professors and ask for feedback? Is there a marking scheme for you to refer to? How do you know you were not writing a B or even C grade answer over and over again?
Yes definitely talk it over with your professor as well as some will provide an example answer that you can compare too.

Great Video! Please show how you mastered the essay exams & spot the issues. And any supplements that helped you ace the exams?
lovelygal2009 thank you! Ok yes i can make a video going into more detail. I didn’t use supplements except for property i used the barbri supplement because that subject is convoluted (lol). Generally, i don’t think supplements are necessary because the professors tailor their exams to their style and what they think is important. Just have a good outline and take good notes and write down examples the professors give and of course, practice! If you want a suggestion for supplements I would go with the examples and explanations series.

No we didn’t not have pass/fail. We were graded on letter grades and so there is a defined curve.
I know this is an old video, but how did you ask your profs for practice exams? Maybe its a dumb question, but I am surprised profs would send those so I want to know how to ask. Thanks :)

Thanks for making this, the tips were very helpful! How early did you start taking practice exams in the semester?
Jazymin Coleman glad to hear it! My advice would be to start taking them as early as possible but the reality is you don’t always have the relevant material to do that. I usually wouldn’t start taking them until midterms (if I had them for that class) and then when I started studying for finals which was about a month to a month 1/2 before exams.
