    Thanx muchly for sharing, Sam!
Hadn't seen this since it was first-run.
    Go, Rowlf, go!
Ha! The Muppet Singers, with the Jim Henson Muppet, should have done that song on The Muppet Show.
RIP, Jim and Jimmy, and thanx so very much, for the magic, music, and memories.

So, we're two dinosaurs still roaming the Earth! I remember Rowlf's spots on _The Jimmy Dean Show_ vividly and fondly. My parents weren't country music fans, but they enjoyed Rowlf too, as well as the up-and-coming comedians Dean had on the show, such as George Carlin. Weren't the live shows just the absolute best? I always loved when Rowlf ad libbed Dean into helpless laughter.

Jim Henson was so grateful for his break on JD's show that he offered Dean a 40% interest in his production company, but Dean declined on the basis that he had done nothing to truly earn it and Henson deserved all the rewards for his own work. A great performer and very humble man.

I didn't know Dean did that. How exceptionally generous and cool! Henson himself demonstrated a huge amount of generosity in offering Dean a chunk of the Muppets, too. Those two guys were gentlemen to the bone.

Thank you so much for sharing the Rowlf clips from _The Jimmy Dean Show._ I've loved Rowlf since I was about six years old, watching these wonderful live shows. He's still my favorite Muppet 61 years later. I was charmed and fascinated by Rowlf's two working hands. And Dean set the standard for human/Muppet interaction. He really helped Rowlf become a living character for me. Again, thank you for letting me relive the memories.
Edit: To the best of my knowledge, Ohio is the only state in the US with an Official State Rock Song -- "Hang On Sloopy." Why? It's an OSU Marching Band fan favorite, and has been since they began playing it during halftime in the 60s.
