Not a rom hack, but a fan game I highly recommend is Pokemon Spork! You can pick any first/single form Pokemon as a starter, 18 gyms, and a great storyline!

Playing sacred gold right now and I can’t put it down. Who ever programmed this game deserves an award for the level system, route encounters, and just the right amount of difficulty that keeps you begging for more, along with all the bells & whistles/ little bonus features a 3rd title usually gets

None of the games in the video interested me & I've already played Gaia which was still pretty bland in my eyes. So after reading your comment I decided to give Clover a shot & I'm absolutely liking it so far; especially Professor Stump heh. I'm really liking the original music, sounds, starting with running shows, etc & the story seems great so far and not boring
For Pokemon Unbound they even implemented Z-moves and Dynamax&Max Raids! No new version has been released yet but they did release a Battle Frontier version, a whole other rom hack that focuses on competitive, and there you can find all the new features, and let me say everything looks awesome there! I highly recommend trying the Battle Tower
i just started playing pokemon grape in the first house ive already battled 30-40+ trainers and before you get to the first gym the whole thing takes place in an extremely long cave with zubats every 2 steps and no way to get repels
For all who are into Gen 2 Rom Hacks: Polished Crystal by Rangi is prolly the most well made and complete rom hack you can play.. crystal clear is also good
Do you know of any rom hacks that essentially remake later gen games into GBA games? Like use fire red as a base, and recreate sun and moon onto it? Story and locations, etc? I feel like that is unlikely, but figured I’d ask just Incase someone did make such a game lol
Quick tip, if you download these roms but you cant find them on your gba you got to download the game it was modded from. For example if you've dowloaded pokemon unbound you've also got to have pokenon fire red dowloaded. Once you done that you should be able to play it.
Real question though is where Pokémon Clover at the complete game is fire. Regardless of how scuffed the game and dialogue is (trust me, it’s really messed up sometimes), the game as a whole is fantastic, the story is finally finished and is now has an ending and has some incredible features.
Then try googling the rom file. The url is directed to pokecommunity and most files in there are ips which are for patching. If you cant find the file try googling the pokemon game rom file download. Youll find it.
Have you tried Pokémon Reborn yet? It releases in chapters, with 19 currently in development. It's a much darker story, with a lot of challenges, and currently 7 generations of Pokémon available.
How did none of Drayano60's Hacks make this list? Sure, that don't add too much in the name of story content, but they are just better versions of their base game. Pokemon Blaze Black and Pokemon Storm Silver are by far my favorite pokemon games, and they didn't make the list T_T
First time visiting your channel, i really like the video but i think there's two things you can improve upon - try talking a little bit slower and don't repeat yourself - if you stutter when recording, which happens a lot, just record it again
My personal fav from the hacks I've played so far, is "Firered: Rocket Edition" (I really liked how your actions show a segue into the reasoning for certain canon game events), and the best part, it's complete! ....well, save for the post game. The post game's a little barren, and the creator's taking a break from it for now.

Pokemon Gaia is the ULTIMATE Romhack as it's the ONLY one out there that's so good it's quality is basically on par with official games from Gamefreak. It just understands what a Pokemon is, and should be perfectly. It doesn't force edgy story on you, it doesn't try to pander to specific groups of people, it isn't wasting your time with gimmicks, it doesn't hold your hand at every oppurtunity and it isn't hilariously unbalanced, It's just...A 10/10 Pokemon game that has SOUL. In fact the game has so much soul it reminds me of pre Gen 6 Gamefreak.

I have to wonder your opinions on Pokemon Clover. I understand its not for everyone, a lot of the humor and writing in it can be grating or offensive due to the situation of its making, but despite that, it has some of the best designed and balanced fakemon i've seen, and a lot of interesting quality of life changes. Its a really complete and well made hack if you can either enjoy, or ignore, its writing.
Do most of these rom hacks still require trade evolutions for Alakazam, Machamp, Golem, etc. or is there a way around them? I always thought the trade to evolve mechanic was terrible but with rom hacks, wouldn't it be impossible? I'm new to all this. Just trying to figure out how it all works.
I have played MANY rom hacks, and like 90% either include 1 of these features. 1. Trade stone, use this on any Pokemon with a trade evolution and it will evolve 2. Level evolution, for example Kadabra in some games they may make it evolve on lv 36, or maybe 40, and etc. It will usually will not be higher than 50 tho
