These two wretched girls should never see the outside of a prison again. The way they tried to manipulate and make excuses for their heinous fantasy is disgusting. More so the parents trying to coach the one with books on mental disorders so that she could put on a better show for the doctors and court. Throw the parents in prison for a few years as well. It's clear how they became such horrible people at such a young age.
Every time someone tries to fall behind insanity plea it makes me so damn angry. As if schizoaffective and Bipolar Disorder cant get any more of a bad rep.
The problem is anime gore, if she's rly an otaku. I've watched gory anime before too, the majority of them will have psychological thriller content that seeks to bend your beliefs as part of the excitement. As an adult, it's thrilling in the moment, but you understand that's fake and made up in reality. As a teen, it's hard to understand what's real or fake. Ik this because I've had delusional thoughts from watching anime then being bullied at school, it was what led to my schizophrenia (yes I've actually had). Sometimes everyone is blaming the offender, but don't look at the root cause of their actions. In this case, it's more than anything the unhealthy influence of anime on teens. I've been there ik. Anime isn't all fun and rainbows. It can be a dark industry linked with profit gain at the expense of poisoning teens' minds/lives, and it's an industry with connections to the yakuza, the LEGAL criminal organization in Japan. Watch anime with caution, esp if you're not an adult yet. Lots of toxic reality-bending content to satisfy the wrong side of human nature and how our brains are wired.
Still, you're right. Anyone can watch anime and have delusional thoughts, but not everyone decides to act on them. It takes a bad person to be delusional then act on their sinister thoughts. So using the insanity card doesn't serve justice, because a bad person would show their true nature sooner or later in life. It's better to punish them early than later, as later would give them more time to hurt more ppl.
Kim Je Yeon should've been tried as adult because she was fully aware of what she'd done and must therefore be sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. The fact that her defense was "mental illness" only gave us more reason that she is afraid of being incarcerated just like normal people as you and me.
The fact that she tried to get a reduced sentence for knowingly murdering a young girl is infuriating, especially with the fact that she said she was schizophrenic. Schizophrenics already have a bad reputation of being serial killers in horror films, like any other disabled person, they are more likely to be taken advantaged of than being the aggressor.
Thank you! As someone who is Schizo-affective the main reason why I don't tell people except for really close friends about my diagnosis is because of the stereotype that we are psycho killers. I actually wrote a paper in highschool about this after my diagnosis and looked at a list of "famous people with schizophreia/ schizotypical disorder/ or schizoaffective disorder" and I found that the majority are entertainers (artists, writers, musicians, and actors). When it comes to Schizos and violence it is very much a "correlation does not equal causation" type deal. If somebody is a violent schizophrenic they are a violent person who happens to have schizophrenia. It sucks cause I have been getting treatment and got my illness under control but that stigma of being a Schizophrenic makes people think we're dangerous people and we're not. Everytime I've had to go to the mental hospital for "a tune up" me and the other schizophrenics are the most chill people to be around.
Dido. I don’t say ANYTHING to anyone about my issues. If anything I mention bipolar bc my emotional state tends to hit me at times when I’m at my end. But being schitzophrenic or having the personality disorder side of it, or hardly any visual hallucinations, it’s quite hard to have someone really understand since like you said if I tell them, they’re going to think I’m going to stab them in their sleep. I tried to do some creative writing as a means of expressing what actual mental illness is like in the Yandere ASMr type concept, a short story or something and let me just tell you, what kind of stuff I came up with from just simple thoughts was creepy and very unsettling. some people were like “you need therapy, you should have the cops watch you” blah blah blah. But I was only writing out the things a typical person with my issues was thinking, to help a character arch in these stories
It's hard for others to understand. I mean, I always feel like I have to be an open door about everything and anything even when it isn't appropriate. "Honesty is the best policy", But most times, things aren't worth blurting out because the wrong person will just hurt and get you more alienated.@@amberg4131

my heart sank when you mentioned they had to bury the victim in cut up clothes because there were still parts of her body that hadn't been recovered. I hope she's resting peacefully, sweet thing 😞🕊
As someone who is diagnosed with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder, often misnamed as Multiple Personality Disorder) I am disgusted that over and over these awful murderers claimed to have my illness as a way of both getting out of their crimes, and worsening the stigma against our community that is already impossible to escape for any of us. There are 3 things I would like anyone who is uninformed to know about DID if they never learn anything else about it: 1- Like any other disabled person, we (people with DID) are more often victims of violence than abusers. In fact, our disorder always comes from severe and extended childhood trauma, such as being abused or molested. 2- Because DID is an extremely rare disorder, there have not been many studies done to learn more about it. As such, even the people - doctors, scientists, and ourselves - who know the most about our experiences, truthfully know very little. If you are not a doctor or someone with the disorder avoid acting as if you know everything about it, especially enough to claim someone is faking a diagnosis. If someone confides in you that they have or believe they may have DID, please avoid questioning them based on your own preconceptions of what DID should look like. It is VERY hard to tell someone in your life about having this disorder. 3- We are not monsters. We are people, like you, who have been hurt very badly and had our sense of self irrepairably broken. And as my friends like to say, we can be several friends in one. :)
Megan I love how respectful and understanding you are when sharing these cases. You maintain a sense of humility especially due to the nature of these cases. Keep up the good work ✨👌🏽
Well since the first episode of Juvenile Justice is based off this case, I'm assuming the one who had all the lawyers probably came from a rather rich family. I remember the character from the show that this cased was based on was also from a prominently wealthy family and the parents weren't even in the country. This girl was pretty much left to her own devices
@@NFernandez-nn3zz From what I recall she was a highschool student so fraternity is out. Idk about congregation but I'm pretty sure her parents were just super well off in the episode
in this kind of cases where the parents always support their children's ways of escaping the consequences of their doings instead of encouraging them to face and accept the consequences, that made their children do what they did. how could kim jiyeon say something about wasting time in detention while she just unalived an 8 years old girl that supposed to be having a bright future ahead but had her live taken from her??? I feel very sad for the victim's parents, at the very last, even their child's body parts are incomplete, I hope the little girl rests in peace now.
I have a niece who's the same age as that poor little girl and this would push me and every member of our families over the edge: emotionally, mentally and psychologically. These girls deserve the death penalty there's no excuse for murdering an innocent child
When I watched the series I ended up weeping, unable to imagine what the poor little thing went through. To think it was something that really happened is horrifying! There are no excuses, even watching the episode I was disgusted when they tried to hide it behind insanity claims - but that girl really went and claimed split personality!!? It's both baffling and enraging
I've had that series on my to watch list before it even released and I have yet to even watch it because I know I'm not physically nor mentally ready for the anger and anguish.

Hi there Megan. I wondered if you've covered the victim Park chorong chorong Nari story? I have watched all of your videos and I dont remember coming across it. As well as the case last year, 20 months baby in Daejeon abused and murdered by 29yrs old guy surname Yang; who then believed she was his daughter. I read a few such cases even as recent as this year in South Korea. It is upsetting how crime and perversion never cease in this world. And ever thanking you for reporting and promote awareness about our own Asia's crime stories. I truly believe family upbringing, moral ethics, environment and social awareness/education are root to a healthy state of mind and bring about good values in individuals. It begins at home.
Megan uploaded on my birthday!!!!! so tired after coming back home but gotta enjoy the rest of the day watching several shows including megan's channel! so happy!!! (obviously there's nothing to celebrate about a sad and fvkd up case, but putting this here just in case someone misinterpret)
I finally finished watching it and all i can say they're both really F UP and deserves to rot in jail! Both knew what they're doing. Also her using the ''mental illness'' to get lesser sentence when there's a lot of people out there actually suffering from the same things and didnt do harm. The fact that she's more concern about being in jail than what she did SHOWS she's not sorry at all and she'll definitely brag it around if she wasn't caught. Also no wonder this case was familiar to me, back then Danganronpa V3 came out and i heard about this game being banned in Korea because of a real life case that happened about teenagers. I'm a big fan of Danganronpa and it is such a fun game when it comes to being a detective and solving cases, but also the lore surrounding the game is all about Teenager classmates k*ll*ng each other in order to ''graduate'' and THIS CASE was that reason. R.I.P to that innocent child. what they did to her was just unforgivable
Omg that was something....How could they give these girls the possibility of freedom.Evil such as this should never roam free in any society. Protect our children keep them these two locked away.😮
This case is brutal indeed a tangled ball of thread , untangling, unfurling and unveiling the truth is not plain sailing. Some cases are baffling enough to question how crazy human psychology is! I hope there won't be any cases where innocent are recipient of murders.
So many missing puzzle pieces here.. Horrible crime towards an innocent little girl, twisted minds of two, and a justice system that is way too lenient.
Hey Megan, can you do Singapore's unsolved murder case, the Geylang Bahru slashings? These innocent kids needed a voice that they were brutally murdered. 😢😢
I don't understand where the 'otaku' part comes in. Its so infuriating when people keep trying to use mental illnesses as an excuse. I have DID, Depression, and Aspergers among other things, doesn't mean I am gonna go murder someone. Also DID is EXTREMELY rare and like it was stated we are not aware of our other personality. I wasn't even aware I had another personality until some of my friends started mentioning things they had apparently done with me but I had no recollection, luckily they had text messages and eyewitness that confirmed I did the things they said I did. Its a shame these two monsters got away with such a heinous act, they both should have gotten either life sentence or the death penalty. There's more behind this case. Thank you Megan for shedding light on this case and being respectful of such a sensitive topic...it makes me wonder what they did with the body parts, if they ate it. May the little girl rest in peace and may the child's family heal.
It is interesting to see these TH-cam videos that show Japan and South Korea as not being these crime free utopias. As some people in the west seem to think they are.
Your voice is perfect for narrating ! Your voice is so soothing Its right up there with listening to Peter Thomas (original narrator for Forensic Files) Which is a huge compliment btw and not an insult
We can all agree that Megan never disappoints Us with this content and I love all your vids so much, also can we just take a moment to appreciate how good she is as a person. I love your energy and your videos always are interesting! 😊
It's so easy for underaged children to get away with murder. No justice at all. Then seniors should be exempted too because of their age if they commit a crime
It's a bit unfair to use "OTAKU" in the title since they're not an otaku but mostly CRAZY and PSYCHOTIC girls. As if people don't look down enough to otaku people and the otaku word having a bad reputation in japan already
@@23Lgirl but it's also commonly (one could even say mostly or only) associated to the anime and manga community, especially outside of Japan. So yes, calling these girls "otakus" is irresponsible or unfair as the original commentor said and just a keyword grab in my opinion These girls wouldn't be characterized as otakus by most people. They would be called obsessed, disturbed, twisted or similar
Justiced cannot well served when the element of influenced behind the scene. I thought what potrays in kdrama were fictional but irl is true. No wonder it was very sensitive when mentioned about high profile people. May the little girl's soul rest in peace.
I watch this like 3 weeks later, and I agreed with the other commenters here. Kim ji yeon and park ji hyun should BE GIVEN a heavier sentence. They just murdered an 8 years-old child who have no idea what's going on. And worse is even more sadder and hard to accept for the girl family members. This to girls are too heartless. They should be given life sentence instead. They aren't even 20 yet, and they are capable of murdering a human being. that's too horrible to be honest. I literally don't want them to be out of prison. I'm scared for the other kids too that might fall into their trap once again. they are too scary to be put back in the society. I wish they were given a much heavier sentence, cos it's too crazy of a crime to be commited by a 17 years old and 19 years old. Too crazy of one.
Wow, I knew I read it in the comments but it boggles the mind that she was able to obtain 14 lawyers, 2 of which were former judges. That fact absolutely suggests she came from a well connected background. Probably on her father’s side since he was an executive.
This remind me of a case in Malaysia. Where a male cosplayer killed female cosplayer with a dumbbell and he told court, he has split personality making his prison sentence reduced. Anyhow, I don’t think I have the right to say this. But any killer using mental illness to reduce sentences should put in prison for eternity
I loved Juvenile Justice. It is an excellent, disturbing show. To find out that not only was the murder in the first episode based on a real case, but that reality as usual beats fiction...Christ. That poor, innocent child. Both of these animals should spend the rest of their lives incarcerated, at the very least. What a sham.
How can you plead insanity when you picked a victim you knew couldn't defend themselves all in the name of your self righteousness at the end of the day
I already know the minor law in Korea and Japan is horrible but honestly the parents how could they keep a cat and let her roam around Korea often seems messed up sorry but still this kinda law puts adults and everyone else in danger because they know they aren’t gonna get punished.
I know its not a large part of the case but can people please stop dropping dead bodies directly into the drinking water of other people? Please. Also if you have to ask "Is there any chance that I, and my bag of body parts could get tangled up in this?" then you are probably going to jail.
Parents in South Korea don't teach their kids not to talk / trust strangers ? Even some friends / relatives you can't trust anymore , the world is an unsafe place now for unsuspecting people . 🤔😞llee

Omg that was something....How could they give these girls the possibility of freedom.Evil such as this should never roam free in any society. Protect our children keep them these two locked away.😮
I am always waiting for your uploads
This case is brutal indeed a tangled ball of thread , untangling, unfurling and unveiling the truth is not plain sailing. Some cases are baffling enough to question how crazy human psychology is! I hope there won't be any cases where innocent are recipient of murders.
So many missing puzzle pieces here..
Horrible crime towards an innocent little girl, twisted minds of two, and a justice system that is way too lenient.
Hey Megan, can you do Singapore's unsolved murder case, the Geylang Bahru slashings? These innocent kids needed a voice that they were brutally murdered. 😢😢
It's widely believed to be related to an illegal tontin scheme the parents ran. A disgruntled gamblers revenge. Poor young innocent souls...RIP
@@JacLaiyywhat makes you think that? 🤔
@@wallacetang_ Cayleigh Elise did a video about the case. Somebody else reuploaded it.
@@Violentinthedaylight really, can you send me the link?

Thank you your voice and videos are just chef's kiss I just subscribed😊
🤍 The Way You Told The Crime Story!!!
I love your voice and tone! I also love the way you tell the story without a bunch of BS thrown in. Thank you!!
Using "otaku" on the title is just for attention grab. Made you watch!
Thank for sharing Megan. Your voice is beautiful and soothing.
Thanks for another video Megan. I could watch your content all day every day. :)
Megan ❤ i love your channel 😮❤
Love your videos. ❤
yaaay new upload 💜💜💜
Thanks for your content Megan appreciate it.
Was waiting for the video❤️
Love your work ❤ 파이팅!!
Thank you Megan for this great video!
Stay Blessed❤
It is interesting to see these TH-cam videos that show Japan and South Korea as not being these crime free utopias. As some people in the west seem to think they are.
Your voice is perfect for narrating !
Your voice is so soothing
Its right up there with listening to Peter Thomas (original narrator for Forensic Files)
Which is a huge compliment btw and not an insult
I've never heard this case, oddly enough. I've really been enjoying your channel; you would be an outstanding newscaster. ☔️💜
They can do it again once they get out. Both should never be released from jail. 😓
We can all agree that Megan never disappoints Us with this content and I love all your vids so much, also can we just take a moment to appreciate how good she is as a person. I love your energy and your videos always are interesting! 😊
Hey, just found your channel. Really enjoying it, I've a suggestion for a video the murder case "Toa Payoh ritual murders" from Singapore
Another good video from Megan! Can you do a video about Nurin Jazlin Murder Case from Malaysia?
They should be in jail for life.
Wow. That happened on my 17th birthday and I was her age too. Crazy. 😮
Firsttt ❤❤ ly them as always megan
You’re wearing white! I think it’s the first time I’ve seen you in white hehe! Love your videos!
Can you do Tsutomu Miyazaki!! He was a cray cray.
Otaku means that you are obsessed with something in Japanese.
@@23Lgirl but it's also commonly (one could even say mostly or only) associated to the anime and manga community, especially outside of Japan. So yes, calling these girls "otakus" is irresponsible or unfair as the original commentor said and just a keyword grab in my opinion
These girls wouldn't be characterized as otakus by most people.
I got chills this is sick
Your videos are so well made! I want to make videos like you too! Great videos! ❤
I am from asia too! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi idol...Am I too early?😊 very interesting content again Idol...more power to your youtube channel Idol...❤
This is the danger of letting children go home with strangers.Schools should not let children go home unless being pick up by parents
this case reminds me of that first case on juvenile justice, was that based on this story??
Unfortunately yes
Nah no way. That date is my birthday.
🎉🎉🎉
Good video btw keep on!
Why do all these cases in korea claim mental health STOP SMEARING MENTAL HEALTH as if mental health needs more misinformation and misunderstanding wtf
Dear Megan, please cover the crime story of a 🇲🇾 Malaysian beauty entrepreneur Sosilawati Lawiya 🙏🏻
This is gonna be a super tough one, I can bet on that.
I echo OshaneC92's comment that I appreciate the respect and insight you have when explaining these cases. I also love your voice; it's very relaxing.
Wow, I knew I read it in the comments but it boggles the mind that she was able to obtain 14 lawyers, 2 of which were former judges.
That fact absolutely suggests she came from a well connected background. Probably on her father’s side since he was an executive.
I hope they both rot in jail. They deserve no protection or sympathy.
The poor little girl... May she rest in peace.
Gmmtv writers take notes…
wait.😢😱
I think there should be a ban, or at least a regulation for those kinds of websites.
Exactly. Because mental illness can stay for life. If he released, he will do it again
Excellent job parents...../s
How can you plead insanity when you picked a victim you knew couldn't defend themselves all in the name of your self righteousness at the end of the day
I already know the minor law in Korea and Japan is horrible but honestly the parents how could they keep a cat and let her roam around Korea often seems messed up sorry but still this kinda law puts adults and everyone else in danger because they know they aren’t gonna get punished.
It’s not their first time. And they had help.
They both should have got the same sentence life in prison. I dont get the murderer get 20 years and the mastermind get life. Both are despicable.
I know its not a large part of the case but can people please stop dropping dead bodies directly into the drinking water of other people? Please.
Also if you have to ask "Is there any chance that I, and my bag of body parts could get tangled up in this?" then you are probably going to jail.
Hey Megan. I discovered your channel one month ago and absolutely love your content. Can you cover the Ryan school murder of India next?
They named every disorders they could to escape their punishment🙄
I’m no expert but I never thought people with multiple personalities didn’t rat each other out.
Wow!! 😳😳😳
Parents in South Korea don't teach their kids not to talk / trust strangers ? Even some friends / relatives you can't trust anymore , the world is an unsafe place now for unsuspecting people . 🤔😞llee
Am Igetting dejavu? I think one of the episode for a Kdrama: Juvenile Justice has this story covered.
Shouldnt such a dark virtual community be shut down?
