- Ive always been tempted by H and M and browsed a few times in their stores which unfortunately just don’t seem to stock the plus size selection which is available on their website. I joined their free membership which gives lots of amazing discounts and perks, including free delivery if you spend over £30 and free returns.
This haul was so nearly there, I loved all the pieces the quality and prices were great, but the fit not great though that was also partly down to me as I get used to their sizing and start to acknowledge too many summer treats has meant i’m probably on the top end of a 20 at the moment.
I loved finding a large selection of on trend clothes in a plus size . I felt the styles suited me even though i’m in my late 50’s I didn’t feel I was dressing outside of my age. Though of course age is just a number and we are all free to wear what we want.
For reference I am 5ft 4 and although I like to say an 18 upwards, realistically i’m more a 20/22 at the moment……but watch this space!

Not your age Susan, that’s for sure, I mean, I’m 60 but what does a 60 year old wear? IMO you dress for you and according to your style! What do you like? What colours do you feel happy in?
I’m no follower of fashion and never have been but I have always been complimented on my style! For the last 10 years though I’ve been a plus size which has seen a change in my style and now due to the progression of my Parkinson’s, I’ve had to completely change my style! I’m a similar size to you but our styling is completely different which is what makes this so interesting! I am really self conscious of my arms and my tummy and I would never wear a t.shirt and I never ever tuck anything in lol….but that’s not to say it’s wrong that you do, we just have a completely different style!
In summer I wear dresses, or cropped narrow trousers with a tunic length top or wide leg trousers with a neater fitting top which covers my tummy!
In winter I wear mainly jersey trousers or other wide or straight leg trousers teamed with either a long knitted tunic, or dressed up with a pretty patterned overshirt in polyester! I do wear dresses with knee length boots but I never wear jeans now as they’re not comfy…..when I look in my wardrobe it’s a burst of colour but style wise it’s a kind of uniform! I miss the style I used to dress in but now comfort is everything but I still want to look put together!
Well that was a long comment…..sorry for rambling on! I guess what I’m saying is you do you and I’ll do me……no real rules, just what you like, what fits well and what suits you but age is just a number as is the one printed in the garments you wear! I’d rather wear a size 24 that looks nice than squeeze into an 18! ❤
Totally no need to apologise Lorraine, I always appreciate your comments. After years of hiding in big black baggy im only now starting to explore and play with fashion.....im learning what colours make me happy, what I feel comfortable in and if how I feel I look good how much more confident I feel. I was an 80'S teenager, neon and big hair I had all the confidence in the world then, but somehow it got buried under all the weight, not that Ive ever been slim not even in my neon highlight days lol. Now im rambling, lol but it is so nice to chat with you. By the way an amazing pair of jersey trousers coming up in a M & S video so make sure you watch that one 😜 which I know of course you will anyway lol take care and my thoughts of always with you x
@@susanknight7091 several years ago I had a beautiful white pair of jersey trousers from M& S….white I hear you shriek lol…..they were so flattering and despite the colour, somehow the styling was just right and they skimmed my lumps and bumps and unlike with other light colour trousers, my cellulite didn’t show at all! They’ve never stocked them since…..I scour the website every summer! X

The olive green skirt is super! Very unique and has a nice drape to it. Hopefully the next size up with be for you.
The striped shirt will go well with lots of things! The black trousers too! I like the black pants and they fit nicely. Don't hesitate to hem them up yourself! I've done that with so many pairs of pants!!
I really love that flowy skirt!! The pattern is not overwhelming and looks mostly black. I wouldn't get a matching top because that would be a bit too much pattern.
I do like the over-sized shirt. That is on trend now with a slightly fitted shirt underneath. It didn't look too big on you.

Hi Jean, hopefully if something is the right fit then comfort will also be there, but that skirt probably wouldn't have been comfortably to sit down in,lol. Ive never been on trend either hence my quest to be so, not sure I will ever get there but good fun trying and hopefully your enjoying process too. As always take care xx

Hi Susan, I am 68 and yes I have to think sometimes is that really for my age, but lets be honest we are in 2024 and anything goes. Nobody seems to be able to guess our ages as we are all looking that much younger. Buy what YOU love would be my honest answer, as long as it comfortable and you love it, go for it. You have a great haul here, personally I liked everything even the beige shirt which I think really suited you, just my opinion!!. Shame about the khaki skirt it was amazing and a super nice outfit with the t shirt. Thanks for sharing xx
Hi Tina, thank you for the confidence boost and the push to just wear what feels right for me. I spent so many years hiding not wanting to stand out or fear ridicule because the fat girl was wearing a short skirt so its hard to come out of that comfort zone and have the confidence to wear what I see so many "youngsters" wearing. Admiring the style and look they have achieved and wondering if it looks as good on me. But, lovely encouraging comments like yours really does inspire me to dress how I WANT to dress and sod anyone else's opinion 🤗

Susan have you seen easy tanks or tops? They are on HSN and cute! They are layered in the front and you can front tuck the layer, tuck in the whole top or leave the whole top and layer untucked. ❤

Thank you so much for making these videos. It has given me the courage to buy clothes. I was put off as I have put on weight but as you say size is a number. Sizing is so changeable between brands. Would love to see a video perhaps showing outfits that range in size but all fit. I got some White stuff and the tops I had to really size up but the jeggings were an 18 and fitted well. It is only a number x
Hi Alison, It is so disheartening to be a certain size in one shop then go to a different one and realise you need to size up. I just wish the brands would get together and there be an industry standard across the board. But that isn't going to ever happen and in reality even the same size can fit and look so different due to where the weight is being carried......so the only way is by trial and error. So often in the past id try on one or two items and feel a failure and hit the biscuit barrel as nothing fits me anyway, now I realise you need to try on lots and lots to find those gems. A number on a label does not define us or equal are self worth, it is just a number, i'm so glad i've inspired you because its lovely subscribers that you that have been so loyal and come back every time to watch and comment that has inspired me to carry on. Hi Susan, great haul. I’m short like you, a little shorter and because H&M don’t petite, when I order trousers I always order slightly cropped and they tend to be a perfect length on me! I’m on a mission to find a skirt that suits my figure xx
Hi Julie, thank you, I love you in your M & S linen trousers that you've recently been showing in your videos, and its a good trick to go for cropped to fit us shorties lol. I'm a recent convert to skirts and now I can't seem to get enough of them, lol. xx

Hi Mitsi, I live in a rural area too, my local highstreet (15 miles away) literally has a small primark and a M & S and of course all the pound shops and charity shops! So, online has always been my preferred method .Most highstreet shops don't want to admit fat people exist so hide their plus range away on line but also allow them to get that tick for being size inclusive! Sorry got a bit ranty there lol. I admire your style so much, you don't comform to the rules, you make them and I really hope one day I can be that confident to wear pattern skirt with a stripy top and not care because I love the look. X

Wear things that you love, that make you happy and feel good, I think everyone has their own style, you don’t need to conform to fashion trends, just take things you like and make them work for you. I’m loving trying things in from ‘high street’ shops that are on trend, then I realise that I don’t always like anything as I don’t like to look ‘samey’ lol I find that things I get from charity shops or eBay are things I wear the most. I am going to to do a shop my closet I think as I have so many clothes, at the moment I have a floordrobe! 😂🤣 I need to go through it! I’d love to be one of those people with a capsule wardrobe and everything hanging up in order….im not sure I’ll ever be able to achieve that though! 😂 x

Another great haul and you look so pretty! I had a viewer on another channel not even the girl in the video call me creepy that I talk about tucking in my outfits as though I was telling the girl to do it or look bad. I like untucked on everyone better than on me. And I work with a lot of male clients so 360 tucked in is mandatory or a belted dress. Since it’s my style I don’t mind but coworkers have said and I felt for them like I feel bloated or just not right and want to untuck this but we can’t. I’m rambling like I do sometimes but I love your tops in and out depending on your outfit. ❤

@@susanknight7091aww thank you sweetie! I love the outfits you have tucked in here and the polka dot tank is so cute! I know it’s kind of a baby doll style made to leave out and it’s not my usual comfort zone as I love the feel of my tops tucked in but I might have to try that top! I love how it still gives a waist so maybe I won’t mind it. Every time I try to wear my top untucked my friends say I look cute and they want me comfortable with other options but 360 tucked is just me. Eventually I’ll go to the ladies and I tuck it in.
I have always liked H&M. The clothing is usually well made, nice fabrics and with pockets, which we love ! The khaki shirt an T looked great together.❤

Susan , I wear what I want , always have . What is dressing for one’s age anyway ❓ The 60 year old woman of today does not resemble the 60 year old of the 1970’s for example . My dear old nan LOOKED her age if you know what I mean . I love that Cargo skirt , have been looking at some from George , will you size up ❓ I would . The tee looks nice with the skirt , I’m sick and tired of trousers being SO long . We aren’t all 6 feet tall ‼️. The flower print skirt is gorgeous and suits you SO well. A shame about the top 😟 I really hate linen Susan , it’s itchy and scratchy and those creases 🙀 All in all a very good haul , I’m pleased for you …much love 💕💕💐
Hi Sue, I know exactly what you mean, my mum certainly looked her age and dressed accordingly and I think i't's because of that ive this self image of what's is appropriate. In fact she would have loved the floral skirt as that was her "uniform" teamed with a t shirt and cardigan ❤️. Anyway, I will have to look out for the cargo skirt in Asda I haven't seen it and it may be a better fit for me. Dress for you. Express your character through your clothes. Two different people could be the same age but have a totally different outlook on life. Doesn't make sense to dress according to age. The clothes would be wearing you rather than you wearing the clothes.
Hi Karen, I feel that is the crux of my issue, for years I used clothes just to cover and keep my self warm. I gave up on myself basically and being so big I lived in big, black and baggy. So now im having to learn how to express myself through how I dress and it's hard letting go of those beliefs of what's appropriate especially as I have such a conformist and conservative personality lol but I am trying 🤗.
