    @onlyrock1 Thanks for the kind words! We're hoping to make the jump to HD at some point in 2011. It'll take a significant investment in new gear ...

    if you touch the seat returns on the drivers the seat will bottom out popping the trim on the seat adjustments.

    Hey Dan, great review! I was just wondering if you guys were thinking of switching over to HD on youtube. It'd be awesome to see your reviews in that quality!

    It's the fancy version of the Ford Flex.

    A ~5000lb luxury crossover and it hits 60 in about 6 seconds? What are you all complaining about? o.O That thing will roast many cars on the road.

    @keyofdavid888 High HP/Low Torque? The F150's EcoBoost V6 delivers 365 HP & 420 foot pounds of torque. Excellent numbers with your Crown Vic. It's all in the way you drive it! :)

    How good is the all-wheel drive function? How does the vehicle perform in the snow? Where can I find videos of these feeds?

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s been so long I can’t remember. 😂 The best bet for snow is a good set of snow tires. I’ve been happy with Bridgestone Blizzaks, but I might switch to Michelin x-ice this winter.

    As I watched the 0-60, I simply yelled "My God that's FAST!!!"
    I meant it too. Ford's 3.5V6 TT is a beast.

    @boboblocks That's a first ... never had a request for a specific color before ... :) We'll get to the Explorer soon enough, but I can't speculate on specific trim level or paint.

    @mpgomatic I like it in white :P. I really do like your reviews, mostly because you guys don't drive like idiots and then complain about gas mileage. You guys are definitely the. Most well rounded reviewers around!

  • @sideburns2009
    @sideburns2009 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jeep6242 who said anything about packaging, weight, or fuel economy? You were the one complaining about the performance being wasted in 'boats'. It was an example, not a comparison.

    Will my mkt 2019 drive in the beach??

  • @jeep6242
    @jeep6242 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @sideburns2009 The Ecoboost doesn't have the same packaging, weight, or fuel economy penalties that a V8 does which is why it's silly to compare it for use only in vehicles that have V8's today.

  • @nwhit1

    Do you think you could do a white 2011 Ford Explorer limited?

  • @mpgomatic
    @mpgomatic  13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @xxxn7zxxx Wow, that's a bummer. Alas, the MKT isn't a boat or a heavy-duty off-road SUV. It's a luxury cruiser with AWD.

  • @mpgomatic
    @mpgomatic  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @joewill1017 Think Miles Per Gallon Per Seat. 17/24 isn't too shabby for a three row luxury crossover. If it had a diesel, it could hit 30 highway ...

    Does the MKT or even the MKS provide a wifi hotspot for something like the iPad?

    @keyofdavid888 Have you driven an EcoBoost? It's a great engine. The take rate on the F150 is huge.
    If you think gas prices were high this year, wait until you see what's coming ...

    @zeal117 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jeep6242 I know what you mean. I would love to get my hands on Ecoboost 2.0 or 3.5 Ranger =), but for now the point of Ecoboost is to downsize displacement without sacrificing the V8 power hence the name Ecoboost.

  • @Holyrollah

    How low does it sit. SUV or car height. I need to know if I can slide into it or would no hafta squat down like a car

  • @sideburns2009
    @sideburns2009 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jeep6242 Because those 2 set the margin for the crossover. It's between the 2 and people that want the capabilities of both worlds with a more car like feel opt for crossovers. I didn't ask YOU anything.

  • @sideburns2009
    @sideburns2009 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jeep6242 Many were complaining that Ford puts the ecoboost engine in big boats and it doesn't perform like it should, etc. (besides you) I was stating that this 5000lb luxury crossover weighs THAT much but still hits 60 in 6 seconds, which is very impressive for something it's size and that the ecoboost is performing as it should in the "boat". You're a fool. Same reason they put the Hemi in the Grand Cherokee, etc. but not in the sub 3500lb avenger/etc, but the 4000+lb 300C, Charger, etc.

  • @mpgomatic
    @mpgomatic  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @clarda1 9 MPG city? Ouch. Park on a hill and get a rolling start! :) I had a Dakota with the 5.2. It was doggy ... always regretted not going for the bigger engine. These EcoBoost V6s are wicked fun to drive. The new Pentastar V6 is excellent too ... just wait until they bolt a turbo on that one ...

    Hey Dan. I have to say you gave me a whole new outlook on this Lincoln. I always hear people saying that the Lincolns are just badge engineered Fords and you really aren't getting a car that competes with the German and Japanese Luxury SUVs on the road. I would have to say that you have shown just how nice a Lincoln can be an I must say I am blown away by how nice some parts of that interior look. Not a big fan of the center stack though, looks a little last Gen and plasticy to me. NTL good car.

    i hope ford makes some variant of all their cars with ecoboost.

  • @clarda1
    @clarda1 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @mpgomatic yeah highway is around 17-19 though which is mostly what I do so its not tooooo bad. yeah the 5.2's are very doggy compared to the 5.9l's, the 4.7s even put down more oomph than the old 318's!

    @mpgomatic after i saw this vid, i bought lincoln MKT and sold my chevrolet trail-blazer, i went to the river and tried to cross it, when it got stuck i pulled out and swimmed to safe spot, after tht i was watching my car heading to the waterfall and exploded, i didnt knew it was off-road car :(

  • @90Mrknowitall
    @90Mrknowitall 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    It looks Like a big white bird I'm not crazy about the style it's just bulky! But the interior is nice and has a badass ecoboost engine!

  • @sideburns2009
    @sideburns2009 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jeep6242 No one asked you to like, drive, own, or buy a crossover. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't going to sell. They sell more than minivan's and suv's.

    Short of that horrible grill, excessive chrome, and the lack of magnesium paddle shifters, I really like this car. If I were in the market for an upscale van crossover-ish vehicle, I'd totally put this at the top of my list. All the luxury and poise for a high-class family, with all the power dad needs to roar down the freeway at 100+. Nice job Ford. Work on removing chrome though. It died in the 70s.

  • @clarda1
    @clarda1 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I dont think the days of the Big V8 barges are over just yet. Most true enthusiasts (not soccer moms or van lovers) prefer the V8, even if the V6 gas two turbos and makes just as much hp and if not more torque. My 2001 Durango has a 5.9L and it will always have a place in my heart for how torquey it is, but gas mileage is terrible! So yeah i guess these high tech V6's will catch on in bigger vehicles sooner rather than later. Wanna test my mpg dan? can you beat my 9mpg city? ;)

    I dunno, keyless ignition starting seems "neutered" There is something in sensual in putting the key in and turning it on.

    @sideburns2009 What the hell does the sale of minivans and SUV's have to do with anything? Your the one who asked the question what are you complaining about. Don't ask a question if you don't want an answer

  • @jeep6242
    @jeep6242 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @sideburns2009 A 5000lb luxury crossover. That sentence is all the definition needed to explain my bitching. :)

  • @jeep6242
    @jeep6242 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @sideburns2009 1- "What are you all complaining about?" = Question open for anyone to answer 2- A crossover that retails for around 50-57K such as the MKT has nothing to do with any minivan and nothing to do with most SUV's No one shopping for a 30 k Honda Cross Tour, or a 30k Explorer, or a 30 K minivan, is cross shopping a MKT so I would reassert that Minivan and SUV sales have little to do with anything. Just have to agree to disagree

  • @jeep6242
    @jeep6242 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ecoboost engine = cool. Ecoboost engine showing up only in giant behemoths = not cool. How about an Ecoboost in a new Ranger or sub 3500lb rwd car please and thank you. They trade away such awesome performance and mpg by only using it in boat anchors.

    Better pray your water pump doesn’t go bad. If it does, the whole fucking engine needs be removed to replace it.

    • @Kevinb1821
      @Kevinb1821 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Better hope your headlights don’t go out. If they do ford wants 1500 a piece to replace.

      At least it doesn't look like a Buick Roadmaster now THAT WAS A WHALE...!!! Looked like a damned bathtub on wheels. No this MKT reminds me more of the older VW Passat wagons that have been since discontinued.
