phenomenal james burtom has inspired many a guitarist around the world when i first heard it i said this is what i would like to hear it was love at first sight thank you so much dude for you existing...Brazil
Don't be too hard on the guy- James had been playing professionally for 60 years at this point and is one of a handful of guys that wrote the rule book back in the 1950s. In fact, he's the only one still alive and he's still going strong.
The fact that he had never heard of too far gone shows me that he really didnt do his homework and the constant thumb in Susie Q is so loud you couldnt miss it
Wow! Wish I could see James in person. I love him, he is a Legend but still so humble. Seems like a really nice guy, Elvis was blessed to have him. Sure wish Elvis had chosen to get to know James more & had stayed away from some of the others. The hangers on who betrayed him in the end. Oh well, in the past. Love James though, simply AMAZING!! 👍👏🏼
He definitely got to know and love James , they probably spent 1000s of hours together on stage and in the studio as well as jamming/partying in Elvis's suite. And I don't think anyone really 'betrayed' Elvis, he liked having those guys around too...this isn't an episode of The Bible for Christ's sake
@@w1lf1ewoo Well, Im getting ready to go to bed & in a good mood, checking out my youtube & get this... Im like, “What? Wait WHAT THE...” First of all, you have no idea what yr talking about. Secondly, yr rude as heck! I didn’t say anything ugly to you or to anyone else on here. I was jst admiring James. You didn’t need to put in yr 2 cents & certainly didn’t need to use the Lord’s name in vain to do it!
James Burton is truly one of America's Greatest guitarists. He has played on and written many songs, etc. - the man is an ICON. James was in demand from the time he picked up a guitar and until today. Mr. Burton is just so great - was and is - always in demand - he is to the guitar what Hal Blaine is to the drums. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER. It is sad that this gentleman doing the interview - he doesn't truly realize who's presence he is in. THIS GUY IS THE ORIGINAL ROCK GUITAR ICON. When a person gets to interview an "artist" such as Mr. Burton - if you get the honor, do your homework and ask the right questions.
Roger C oh I think he does. He was just born in '73. When he didn't know Emmylou Harris' " Too Far Gone" it is understandable. I think he's aware of James' status; I just think he's young in relative terms you figure he was like two when "Too Far Gone" was released. I thought both James and Albert, in his video, were patient with the guy.
That's probably true but he seems like a very respectful young man when he's talking and listening to James Burton. With that attitude he will do well. James seemed to relate to him easily.
The initial question about James getting thrown off the Louisiana Hayride for playing "too wild" is absolutely insulting to James who is known widely for his taste, economy, note choice and strict attention to the requirements of the specific song. Also, the reference to the TCB Band as possibly emulating the rock energy of Clapton, Hendrix, etc is ill-informed at best. One can tell that James is slightly put off by both questions....
There is no one like James Burton . No one . He is the Gold standard.
Mr James is one awesome guitarist as well as person. 👍👍❤️❤️🎸
Dude is a living legend, a term that is over-used. James Burton is a guitar monster and seemingly, a hell of a great guy.
James Burton is the greatest guitarist that ever lived and the most loyal friend of Elvis.

NickRatnieks agree man totally
Kudos to Mr. Doucet, it cant be easy to play side by side with the one and only.
The fact that he had never heard of too far gone shows me that he really didnt do his homework and the constant thumb in Susie Q is so loud you couldnt miss it
James - THE KING of the telecaster.

This is really cool James Burton first played with Rick Nelson... He later played with Elvis
An amazing guitar player.
An absolute brilliance in my opinion the greatest guitar player James was in the popular music field "play it James"
A strong singer and a hot band....priceless...
I served this dude at Cracker Barrel. I gave a legend his water. 🙏🙏🙏
How cool is that!! Did you get brave enough to ask for his autograph???
HAPPY 8 O T H BIRTHDAY!!!
James Burton🎸
August 21, 2019
T4TEXASTOM JOHNNYCAT I met him at Sun studios that day! Will never forget it 🎸
Love him, love his smile😘

James Burton is immortal
"We had a strong singer and I put together a hot band"
"We had a strong singer and a hot band."
yeah, the base playesrwas great too..Jerry Schiff(i may have spelled incorrectly)
James is not credited as written Susie Q, only a featured guitar player. Sad back then 1957, melody notes belong to James Burton.
THE MAN!

Let’s not forget that a Twin Reverb amp can make a 1 string broomstick 🧹 sound good 👍🏻. Plug a tele in with a player like James and you get magic
this young pup needs a lot of education on James Burton Play It James TCB Forever
That's probably true but he seems like a very respectful young man when he's talking and listening to James Burton. With that attitude he will do well. James seemed to relate to him easily.
Not to be too hard on the young man, but, c'mon. The look on JB's face at the end is priceless.
He's the best. Elvis wouldn't have anything but 💋♥️
great interview with pickin
Que limpieza para tocar clarísimo armónico. Impresionante cristalino.. admiración ¡ señor .se que fue guitarrista ni más ni menos que de presley
How did James Burton learn to play like this without TH-cam? 🤪
It's AMAZING... there actually was life before TH-cam!! (...and TV, and computers, and video games!) ;^)
Practice.
I bet the guitar part for "sleepwalk" came right off of a james burton lick! Probably Perfidea too.
At 13 the Susie Q GOD really likes Mr Burton
Elvis Presley AND James Burton
Can't believe you talked over Jimmy Burton's playing. Sacrilege!
Goat
the guy shows life is not fair,Like the P.C. guy
shows how today’s musician still needs some more study
James Burton #elvis

cool interview(er)
The guy does'nt even know the band..such a shame. Study before an interview dude. Elvis and the TCB band is basic knowledge
Super gitarzysta
This interview makes me very uncomfortable.
Why is this dude interviewing the great James Burton? It is obvious he doesn’t know his work! Hummmmmmmmm😠
