That's the best response "its not for trivial reasons, how far do you want me to go" Ppl are really patronising even fsmily. when i have cried to my mums mum about my mum and they just stare blankly at me, no offer to help or ask questions, no hugs just more excuses. I like the reason when it finally shows up in your physical health its really time to take drastic action. i feel less shame. my mum was also jealous of my relationship but more so when i was a teenager. my dad wasnt the best husband but my mum wanted me to be closer to her but then she never wanted to get to know me or play and do things with me she just wanted me to be her shadow and just do things for her at her request. shes also expects my brothers to be at her beck and call too, but im only one that says no to her.

I totally get you. My mother is very manipulative, narccissistic and controlling with me but she modifies her behavior in front of other people outside so that they don't see her true nature and even though she has done some good things that i do give her credit for i know that she is very toxic and manipulative and i thank you for coming out with your story and im glad to know that you've healed from this as I'm still trying to do the same.
