This fiber optic cable is specified for campus network cabling for buildings where inter-building lengths are short enough that fiber installers will recognize saving from a lower cost of terminating tight buffered cables.
Indoor applications the cable is OFNR listed. For outdoor applications the cable is manufactured with an outer jacket that incorporates a UV stabilizer for protection against exposure to the sun plus an anti-fungus protection for use in underground applications.
    - These new designs meet or exceed GR-409 and ICEA-S-104-696
-Customers benefit from a more compact, lighter weight and more robust Indoor/Outdoor Cable
    - AFL offers I/O cable designs from 2-24 tight buffered fibers.
-Higher performance equals better value over previous designs
    Applications:
    - Cables are water blocked and meet water penetration requirements of GR-20-CORE (which helps ensure that any damage to cable is restricted to a repairable length of several meters and minimizes the likelihood of having to replace the entire cable in the case of backhoe damage)
    - Outer jacket is moisture-resistant, fungus-resistant and UV-resistant for outdoor use
    - With a Riser rating, this cable can be used in all environments: Riser, general inside plant and outside plant

It was an underground pull through existing AT&T utility vaults on the USC campus from the main MDFaround to an IDF vault almost a half mile away.Straight pulls except the ends where they entered the buildings. 8 utility vaults in between and figure eights the size of a bus. Poly-water is the bomb.

This is pretty neat, if only my ISP would invest in last mile fiber to the home..

    No metal for underground location?

What would you recommend for broadcast use? We need a reel of 4 strand single mode ST/ST Fiber and we are looking into lower cost options but I am unsure if we should get armoured outdoor or normal indoor/outdoor..

Hola from Mexico. Does optic fiber works at low voltage, this is for a swimming pool? I appreciated any advice🙏

This cable will work underwater but it's most common installation is in a conduit underground between buildings. You mentioned voltage, fiber carries light and no power. You reminded me of a customer who uses this king of fiber for his robot. He would use this cable for the signal and the robot would go in an oil tanker and inspect the walls.

UV resistant? For outdoor use? I have never installed fiber that wasn't in conduit, or inner-duct, ever. "Inner-duct to the tray, is what I always say". Connectorized is a not so good idea unless it's only the inner end on the reel. Pulling connectors through conduit, not so easy. And I wouldn't guarantee any conn. that was pulled through pipe. I did it one time, with a 144 strand MM connectorized 2,500 ft. in an empty 4" conduit. If it wasn't empty, no way. Every strand tested okay. Luck.
