you are punting along very nicely nowadays ty! it must be fun to watch your older vids and see how far you've come with your riding. :) we had a CRF450X up in quebec and hardly anyone wanted to ride it as it wasn't really cut out for the gnarly steep rocky sections that formed so much of the terrain....

You are right- its clearly a full out mx track bike .Im sure it can be improved for the trails but perhaps there are better options...

Your plenty fast dude! I'm 42 years old and was way faster in my 20s. Now I'm trying to be that guy anymore. My knees creek every morning and don't need to be that fast anymore. Just get my old ass to work and everything's good haha. Great video as usual!!!

Would be interesting to see you revisit some of the bikes you have tried and see if the times compare/changed..
Fun video and great trail. You'll find that if you stand up, you'll not only get faster, but you'll have more control over the bike. When you stand, it puts your weight on the pegs and low on the bike putting the center of gravity much lower than with your butt on the seat. That and you can react much faster when needed. Not dissing you, just something to think about and possibly practice.

keep your Honda 450x!!! i bought one at the start of October (love it to bits) and I did 280KMs of off roading over one weekend. I found that by riding the clutch a bit and keeping the revs up it never stalls on the jump ups or slow stuff. As long as its well warmed up.

Hey Tyler, I compete in NASA Rallysport on an efi crf450x based Christini dual sport. I have to tune the idle to sit at 2200 rpm or higher or it isn't happy either. Its definitely a bike that likes to be pinned and not a rock crawler or single track Enduro type riding that's for sure.
Yeah for sure! I was really surprised that it tied with the WR250f. The WR was a lot faster (for me) in the tighter stuff on this trail, but you can see how much ground the 450x makes up in the straights! It's definitely a great wide-open desert racer!
Nicholas Dunn. How do you like the christini? I'm thinking the awd may make up for at least a little of lame offroad skills.
David Lockhart. I absolutely love it. Its a beast in the sloppy stuff where others have a hard time. This bike just trudges on through it. Hill climbs are a lot easier as well since you aren't spinning the rear as much. Think of it as traction control. I have mine setup for rally with taller gearing but still take in on quad trails and does very well. Any single track stuff the bike doesn't like because of the my setup. But the motor (crf450x) in general likes to go fast. Its a desert racing motor.
eveRide ADV definitely makes all its power up in the high revs. I think it's almost 7500 rpms if I'm not mistaken where they max out
Awesome! The 450X idle issue might have something to do with the TPS or fuel screw adjustment. Jacked up adjustment on one will throw off the other and then you end up with high idle or dying idle

I believe that the times you show for all the bikes are close enough to show it is more about rider skill. I know I know there are variables an blah blah. This is a Dual Sport Channel NOT AMA Monster Energy Supercross Channel. It is for fun and for regular guys like me. Thanks Tyler, keep on keeping on.

Yes I believe that's the name of the bike trail to the right a ways off the end of the "single track" part of the ride.
My 450x won’t start in gear I have to put it in neutral. And when the motor is cold it will stall when I put it in gear. It’s annoying but it’s s great bike. I rarely stall so it’s no big deal. And when I’m about to ride the bike cold I’ll just pull the clutch in like 10 times before I put it in gear. It seems to help. When I say ride the bike cold I mean it’s just idled for a minute or 2

I'd like to know if you took the Black Widow on the commute today, how much faster would you be than the original run?
jaetheo I too wonder about this. Between changing terrain and rider skill these are not very objective comparisons.
They're more for fun than to be objective... but it would be *more objective if I raced the DRZ hot on the heels of the 450x to see just how much faster the 450x is. I'm putting a new tire on the DRZ and then I'll get out there and do it. It should be fun!

Hi everRide! I recently bought a 2005 crf450x that came with a spare WORX long range tank identical to yours. The only problem was that it has two holes on the bottom of each side pannel, does something bolt into them? if so what are they? love your work by the way!
