It's honestly really dumb that MF is transparently designed as a parry-dodge boss, the devs intended for you to just run from him, and deal reprisals, no commands, no d-links, and a majority of Command Styles just don't work on him. Limiting options and giving him huge numbers to fabricate challenge is such a lame move.
That makes me think that MF was added in at the very last minute, or they were going to have a different kind of playstyle up until he was made as a boss, but they changed things, yet didn't go back and change how his fight worked to accommodate.
@@OsakaLover he was most definitely added last minute. Hell, he wasn’t even included in the original Japanese release. Likely a mixture of his poor design and rushed development.
A parry-dodge boss where he has full invincibility during most of his parry windows. Truthfully, I don't even think they thought THAT hard about it. They just were so focused on making him HARD, that they forgot to make him GOOD. Hence everything about the fight seeming to punish you for using BBS's mechanics that it had taught you up until then.
I feel like if Doom worked the way Marluxia uses it in ReCoM, 2, and 3 instead of whatever the button mashing shit is it would make this fight infinitely more tolerable.
One thing that always bugged me about Mysterious Figure, and it's admittedly a complaint that doesn't really matter that much compared to all the other issues with this fight. What's the point of all of his absurdly long combos when half his attacks automatically reduce you to 1 HP, and the other half hit so hard that they deplete all your health instantly? If hit 1 is enough to kill me from full health when I'm level 60+, the other 12 in the string feel pretty redundant.

Most I'm seeing with this mod is...What if Kingdom Hearts BBS was like Tales of games and you had guard/dash/Spell cancel.
That's bad. We need to except that we will never get a normal KH game made again like 1 and 2.
