Lyrics
Beneath the streets, in the cars, on the trains
Or in the underground I'll be waiting
You can spare a dime or you're gonna be mine and
We're going dancing tonight
In the tunnels underground the subway rats run all
Around and hungry
So come and hide and step inside we're going on a
Midnight ride
On the subway underground it gets a little rough
This ain't
No tunnel of love
Hurricanes running through my veins I know that
You're lost and alone
And I feel no pain
In my sea of drains
In my, my underwater world
Welcome to the ocean
Welcome to the sea
Welcome to the jungle
Deep inside of me
Sink or swim, you dive right in
And you know this ain't no place
To mess around
In my swamp underground the quicksand
Slowly sucks you down
Down here I call the shots, like it or not
What you got I'm getting
You have to come down to my slum
Well welcome chum
Now sit down and shut up
So, welcome to the ocean
Welcome to the sea
Welcome to the jungle
Deep inside of me
I lay you wide open
For all the world to see
My, my, my underwater world
My, my, my underwater world
This album is an underrated 80s classic, Glam Rock at it's finest, it's like Roxy Music 2.0
Yup
A true masterpiece
Had a few of their tapes back then , my brother still has one left that made it over time...
I’m a rock/metal fan in general. Apparently I discovered Hanoi Rocks when I was checking for more of those 80s bands.. This is my fav song from them. Coming From a 16 year old. Rock Never Dies❤️
is this where GnR got the "Welcome to the jungle" lyric inspiration I wonder?
@@glennaldosf Axl says the inspiration came from the time he was hitchhiking, the words that the man said to him, but i’ve heard people talking about this song being an inspiration aswell, and i can def see it when i listen to both songs, and axl really liked this band, he wrote crash diet after the death of razzle.
@@glennaldosf I think some Guns n Roses and Hanoi Rocks members all had some part because they were part of the Rock scene in early 80s Rock
@@Emileguns yeah but Hanoi Rocks were around earlier than GnR. they clearly influenced them, not the other way around. This song came out even before GnR were formed and they had 5 albums out before Appetite came out....
I went through 5 copies of this record and proceeded to buy the entire back catalog and every bootleg I could find!
"I'd hitchhiked the country, and I'd been in New York, and we went to Seattle, and I actually started writing it in Seattle. That was one of the first songs we wrote when Slash joined the band - and it was just when we were getting a firm grip on where we wanted to go with the music and stuff like that. It was originally "Welcome To The City," but then we figured later that we had "Paradise City" and "Move To The City." The line "Welcome to the jungle" is in a Hanoi Rocks song, but it wasn't taken from that as some people have said. It was like all of a sudden we came up with ''jungle" to replace "city" - and then the next day it was like, "Oh, man, there's a Hanoi song that says that,” but then we figured it would be OK. We don't like to rip things, and it definitely wasn't intentional. But, yeah, I kind of wrote the song about L.A., and we were at a point in our lives - here we are, kids on the street or whatever and you just see so many things happening around you that it's like the jungle. If someone comes to this city looking for a decadent time, they can find it."
Axl Rose, 1989.
Back in the day Axl and me were the only people I knew that liked Hanoi Rocks
And now there's quite a few
Well, If you're talking notable musicians from the Sunset Strip 80's era, There was Izzy, Duff, Gilby Clarke, Tracii Guns, etc.. were all massive Hanoi fans...
And now here’s also a 18 year old who is obsessed with both GnR and Hanoi rocks lol
This whole album was pretty darn good 👍
Only 12000+ views?? FFS what happened to their fan base? Will always live on in my memory HR's. Great times!!
People are crazy!!!
"Welcome to the jungle, deep inside of me..."
Well, it's obvious where Axl got his inspiration from.
A big hit that never was
I heard this on the radio once, They just didn't have much good stuff there's like maybe another song or two I don't remember.
All of them kick ass, but Razzle on the drums takes the lead. Sick drums
2022 Hanoi fucking rocks
Hanoi ROCKS!!
I started listening to Hanoi after reading in circus magazine about Vince killing Razzle back in 1985 love this band
Kind of an odd way to phrase it. Vince didn't murder him.
@@MrOctober44 he kind of did yeah, drunk driving with someone else?💀but I understand him being young drunk and irresponsible, he still took a life and unfortunately he is paying over the years
Turbonegro sure liked this
This makes me think of the band up there as beautiful punk rock mermen, decorated with assorted bits of trash and shells they found while swimming, sinking fishing and whaling vessels to protect the waters.
Such a kick ass song!!
Love that sax
awesome song!
Great selection. Awesome band
Hanoi Rocks 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Very good band one of my favorite people of all time Michael Monroe nice clean glamour Rock way better than gnr and motley crue they need to be in the hall of fame for best 80 s band they had there stuff together for years and he's still going with the one man gang band still sounding good I would love to meet him
Great! !!!!!!!!!
I’m not gay but Michael Monroe is Michael Monroe
You aren't, but he is.
@@ALLMETAL1970 He's not. He's straight as faboulous he is
@@MissDafne92 no, Michael monroe is in fact homosexual.
@@ALLMETAL1970 man.. he has been married twice. One of his wifes has passed away in 2001. His current (!) marriage started in 2003. Stop being so confident with your stupidity.
@@ALLMETAL1970 he has a wife
Yeah!!
Jóia Finlandesa!!! s2
Cool
Fuck yeah
Sink or swim, you dive right in
And you know this ain't no place.
🤘
if you Listen at the end of the chorus, you can hear the name of another song which was respectfully taken influentially from a band in which i was the original bassist no big deal
What band, bro?
@@joshphillips7504 Hanoi rocks
Welcome to the jungle
GnR took so much from this song
I need to get this clearly Said that's these people weren't around until I Doug the president out of there seller's around the been
The cut final IS like Roger waters Happy in Pink Floyd
Guns n Roses pretty much stole the blue print of this band.
Even the solo on this song be Slash-sounding.
Lol. Axl sings with super intensity and anger. Monroe has zero anger in his voice.
Can't believe this is really my first time listening to Hanoi and I hear why. For my musical tastes they stink
L
Who asked you 💀💀
don't think you're important, nobody cares about you or your opinion
