Fair Dealing
Source: www.gov.uk/gui...
Certain exceptions only apply if the use of the work is a ‘fair dealing’. For example, the exceptions relating to research and private study, criticism or review, or news reporting.
‘Fair dealing’ is a legal term used to establish whether a use of copyright material is lawful or whether it infringes copyright. There is no statutory definition of fair dealing - it will always be a matter of fact, degree and impression in each case. The question to be asked is: how would a fair-minded and honest person have dealt with the work?
Factors that have been identified by the courts as relevant in determining whether a particular dealing with a work is fair include:
* does using the work affect the market for the original work? If a use of a work acts as a substitute for it, causing the owner to lose revenue, then it is not likely to be fair
* is the amount of the work taken reasonable and appropriate? Was it necessary to use the amount that was taken? Usually only part of a work may be used
The relative importance of any one factor will vary according to the case in hand and the type of dealing in question.
Source: www.bl.uk/busi...
The concept of fair usage exists within UK copyright law; commonly referred to as fair dealing, or free use and fair practice. It’s a framework designed to allow the lawful use or reproduction of work without having to seek permission from the copyright owner(s) or creator(s) or infringing their interest.
Fair dealing law is not only applicable to text-based works; it applies to musical, dramatic, artistic, literary and typographical works too. However, it does not cover the copyright of printed music.
As an exception to British copyright law, fair dealing is governed by Sections 29 and 30 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, which outlines three instance where fair dealing is a legitimate defence:
* If the use is for the purposes of research or private study;
* If it is used for the purposes of criticism, review or quotation;
* Where it is utilised for the purposes of reporting current events (this does not apply to photographs)
A statutory definition for fair dealing does not exist; it will always be a matter of fact, degree and interpretation in every fair dealing case. Nor is there a percentage or quantitative measure to determine fair dealing. The Intellectual Property Office lists the key factors used to determine the validity of whether a particular dealing with a work is fair as follows:
* Has the use of the work impacted negatively on the market for the original work? If the creator or owner has lost potential revenue through the re-use of their work, it is not likely to be fair.
* Was it reasonable and necessary to use the amount of work that was taken?
The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 also outlines the potential fair dealing defences that permit the use of copyright works without permission from the author(s) or creator(s) under UK copyright law.

Vince Clark, absolute genius who will never get the recognition he deserves
Absolutely yeah, so pivotal to this genre and the classics we all still love to this day! Cheers
His genius gets quite a lot of recognition, IMO. Genuinely underrated is OMD, who directly inspired Vince (and Moby, while we're at it) to pursue electronic music in the first place.
He has sold around 100 million albums and is greatly respected in the music world. I'd say he's gotten plenty. And yes, he's amazing.
@@nagashtheforsaken OK in the music world and people like you and me. But ask the general public about Vince clarke or show them a picture and they would have no idea who he is. I suppose that's probably the way he likes it (Like Chris lowe).
But a lot fo people would know Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure (or at least know the songs when they hear them). Erasure should be as respected as people like the Pet shop boys, Depeche Mode, OMD and even a Daft Punk.
@@BAztid He gets recogniton maybe within the industry and people like me (and I assume you) you love music and aren't tied to one genre or see Electronic music as inferior to other forms. OMD definitely underrated
Erasure - Love to Hate You
Depeche Mode - Behind The Wheel
Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus
Camouflage - The Great Commandment
Gazebo - I Like Chopin
Pet Shop Boys - Opportunities
Peter Schilling - The Different Story
Depeche Mode - Shake The Disease
Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus - mostly guitar
“Love to hate you” definitely deserves a place here
PJ is notoriously more blues than synth. Shake the Disease is a minor attraction. But where the heck was Never Let Me Down Again?
@@wscottwalters74 Shake the disease a minor attraction? It is one of the best tracks of the 80's, like Blue Monday.
@@FedericoDLPExactly !
Missing from the list:
Q. Lazzarus “Goodbye Horses
Camouflage “Love is a Shield
Real Life “Send Me an Angel”
Anything Box “Living in Oblivion”
From the top of my head.
Send Me an Angel is a HUGE miss. Should easily be in the top 10.
I actually prefer Catch Me I'm Falling.
Oh damn, it's obvious you know your songs. I agree with your post.

13) Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round
14) PSB - Rent
15) New Order - Temptation
DM rulez! :D
That Top 10! xD Some different songs for me, but *totally* DPM!
I've always been partial to "True Faith" as my top New Order song. It's probably my favorite song of the entire 1980s, but I listen to most of the songs on your top 10 as well.
Some Honorable Mentions: Kids in America - Kim Wilde, New Toy - Lene Lovich, Saved by Zero - The Fixx, The Politics of Dancing - Re-flex, Talk Talk - Talk Talk, Is it a dream - Classix Nouveau, Lies - Thompson Twins, Charlotte Sometimes - The Cure, Election Day - Arcadia, Jukebox (don't put another dime) - The Flirts, No more words - Berlin, Why me? - Planet P, Rockit - Herbie Hancock, Promises, Promises - Naked Eyes, New Moon on Monday - Duran Duran, Der Kommisar - Falco, Is it Love - Gang of Four, 19 - Paul Hardcastle, and One of my submarines - Thomas Dolby.
Oh my god... i thought i was the only one in the world remembereing Planet P..... Static was altso a great track :)
@@kimshaky I love Static!! Out of all the YT comment discussions, this was my favorite because of my love for New Wave and Synth Pop.
and of course thriller by mj
Totally forgot about re-flex. Thanks 😀
New Order - Temptation, Ultravox - The Voice, A-Ha - Stay on These Roads, Tears for Fears - Sowing the Seeds of Love
What the hell are Ultravox and Pet Shop Boys doing in the mid 50s???
Pet Shop Boys have about 250 songs better than this top. Who knows the singles, partnerships and b slides knows i am right.
@@PSBradio1 I agree
What are you talking about? Pet Shop Boys are number nine with their signature hit.
@@FavreianVengeancethey should be number 1. In fact this should be a Top 100 Pet Shop Boys tracks video. OP should remake it.
@@FernieArielYou mean the Pet Shop Boys that only used boring synthezisers with standard fabric sounds....
At least Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Kraftwerk and others used some imagination when creating the sounds....
Once again the 80's reigns supreme! Such a great decade not ony for Synth-Pop, but all kinds of music!!!
So true, anyone who grew up then was spoiled when it came to all kinds of popular music! Thanks for watching
Depeche Mode Enjoy the Silence my #1
The world’s #1

@@PatrickMapper good! 😊
@@AsyaKuryshkina на заре?
Great to see Vince Clarke featured so many times. I would still add Erasure's Love To Hate You.
Likewise Vince wrote 200 songs for Andy Bell and are still close friends. ERASURE was nearly as good as DEPECHE MODE, love PET SHOP BOYS who have just released their 16th solo album ❤
Warm greetings from France
Es increible tener los mismos gustos , a pesar del idioma y distintas realidades. La música une es una de las pocas alegrias de éste mundo. Saludos cordiales desde Chile una fanatica del synth pop electrónico.
Erasures "Chorus" should be here
I miss the whole Abbaesque Maxi
Fade to Grey should have been higher
Much higher indeed.
Lots of songs should have been higher. This is such a bad list.
and Vienna?
@@airlane66 I think it’s pretty good, tbh, just far from complete. Am not sure why more recent tracks from the soundtrack of the movie Drive are included, even if brilliant, as the majority seem to be from the ‘80s. You mightn’t agree, but for me I just can see further than ‘Souvenir’ by OMD. Doubtlessly many others outsold it, like A-ha’s fantastic song ‘Take on Me’, the extraordinary video for which appears to have been watched by most of the world’s population 😂. But it’s Souvenir for me all day long. Love the ‘80s ❤
Shared No. 1..
Missing B-Movie Nowhere Girl and Duran Duran - The Chauffeur
Depeche Mode and New Order 1 and 2. I'm good with that.
Whoever compiled this list has no clue about synth-pop.
@airlane66 💯 agree
Incredibly stupid video.
Thats what I thought
"synth-pop"🤔 ja, das sehe ich auch so. Tolle Pop- Sounds durch und durch, aber haben teilweise im o.g. Ranking nichts verloren.
Why do you say that
Fiction Factory - Feels like Heaven (Biggest omission!)
Nits - Red Tape
Blancmange - Waves/Blind Vision
China Crisis - Christian
OMD - Genetic Engineering/Telegraph/Maid of Orleans
Yazoo - Nobody's Diary
Soft Cell - Say Hello, Wave Goodbye
Eurythmics - Who's that Girl?
Depeche Mode - See You/New Life (their best songs imo)
AHA - Stay on These Roads
Assembly - Never Never
A Flock of Seagulls - Transfer Affection
Marsheaux - Summer/Secret Place/Popcorn
...These would all be in my top 50.
Otherwise a good list; 'Fade to Grey' perhaps no.1 for me🙂
Thanks, yeah in hindsight i should have made this much more than a top 100 so whenever i do a part 2 or new version i will add those! Cheers
Great list - I was actually almost able to squeeze out a top 50 but fell short by 5. Off the top of my head what I would add that wasn't on here was Major Tom- Peter Schllling, Space Age Love Song - Flock of Seagulls, One of our Submarines - Thomas Dolby, Don't Walk Past - Blue Peter. Yeah definitely going to need to do a part 2 as well! Great list, difficult to rank and narrow down this many great songs isnt it. Cheers
My top 5 would be:
5. AC/DC - You shook me all night long
4: Queen - Tie your mother down
3: Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
2: Motörhead- Orgasmatron
1: Metallica- Master of Puppets
It's not a great list at all-Kim Wilde is not on there AT ALL! Here we go again, another completely dumb compiler deaf and blind to this amazing woman and her equally amazing brother's output-she was only biggest UK female of the lot, yet you make sure you put Eurythmics, Yazoo and even Bananarama in there. You certainly didn't listen to one of those songs on it-'Don't You Forget About Me'-as you clearly DID with Kim bloody Wilde! Then there's Sandra, Real Life, Camouflage, Information Society, Kirsty MacColl, Blancmange, China Crisis, Nick Heyward, Lene Lovich, even ABBA, it reads more like a who's who of who you DIDIN'T feature. Oh and Depeche Mode-who you couldn't STOP featuring! Oh D-E-A-R!
@@kyachdistent1301 So it's not a great list because some hack singer that you like is not on there. You are nothing more than a self absorbed egotistical narcissistic intolerant TROLL
Such a list without Being Boiled by The Human League is not perfect
You can really hear how ahead of their time they were with that, and the influence it would have had on electronic music overall i just never loved the vocal melody really. Will definitely be in part 2 if i do that. Cheers
This is basically a list of most of my favorite songs and artists.
OMD are the ones. Directly inspired Vince Clarke (creator of Depeche, Yazoo and Erasure) to become an electronic musician. Key influence on Howard J, Pet Shops, Frankie, Alphaville, Moby and many more. Heavily influenced the sound and image of early TFF. Incredible and perpetually underrated band.
I appreciate the work you did on this. I would have probably stuck to one decade, though. There are a few glaring omissions (Kim Wilde, Culture Club, early Madonna, Cyndi Lauper). But otherwise some solid picks.
Should have had John Foxx- Underpass on there. Such a heavy synth tune back in the day
💯 FOR SURE!! He was a Pioneer.
Or Miles Away .. an excellent song
1. Enjoy the silence - Depeche Mode
2. Blue Monday - New Order
3. Shout - Tears for fears
I saw the title of this video and said to myself, “If Blue Monday isn’t number one, this entire list is a waste.” Now I say, “Good job!”😊
Yes, you're lucky. As for me I also like New Order but a Flock of Seagulls much more.
Lol thanks! It could only be that really couldnt it!
Lot of songs on this list that is a lot better than Blue Monday 😂
Same thought here. Glad to know this list is so close to my favourites bands.
Of course, there’s never a perfect selection: I would love to see some germans ‘hit factory’ bands like Camouflage or Cetu Javu to get this even better but nevertheless I’m quite happy with that.
@@Media_RankerPet Shop Boys have about 250 songs better than this top. Who knows the singles, partnerships and b slides knows i am right.
Incredible job on the list. I love the addition of modern artists such as M83, MGMT, Churches, and The Weeknd! There was a lot of incredible synth-driven music coming out in the early 2010's to 2020. Thanks for putting this list together!👍
Thanks! Yeah i might do a separate modern synth pop video at some point too actually
The Cars - Drive
Kim Wilde - Cambodia
Berlin - Take my Breath Away
Camouflage - The Great Commnandment
Ladytron - Ace of Hz
Billy Idol - Eyes without a Face
Mando Diao - Black Saturday
Arcade Fire - Sprawl II
speaking of The Cars, I vote for Moving In Stereo
Thanks for this collection. To watch this videos was pure joy. The ranking isn't important - everyone has his own favourites. Great melodies, great songs...
Thanks!
A-ha and The Romantics are the best for me in this era
Great list!😎 Plenty by Vince Clark, who is the all-time Synth GOD!😇 One BIG omission for me is Propaganda's "Duel"!
Yeah he really is isnt he, involved in so many huge songs! Thats fair, ill definitely make sure its in part 2. Thanks
I don't know what "Synth -pop" is,but, the only thing that i understood ,is that ,90% of these songs are just ... GREAT!!! 👍👏👍
Thanks for watching
@@Media_Ranker You're welcome 🤗!
Your video reminded, to me,some great songs, that i had forgotten, they existed!👍
Naked Eyes - Promises Promises
Shannon - Let the music play
Herbie Hancock - Rocket
Icehose - Icehouse (Hey little girl should have been higher)
Arcadia - Goodbye is forever & The Flame
Duran Duran - The Reflex, Union of the snake
KIm Wilde, Kids in America, Cambodia & Water on glass
Howard Jones - Hide and seek
Depeche Mode Marster and servant
Nik Kershaw - Wouldn't it be good
Fiction Factory - (Feels Like) Heaven
Talk Talk - Talk Talk & Today
Yazoo - Nobody's diary
Prince - 1999
So many really but thought they deserved a mention
Just a fantastic list!! Well done, you!! I saw Clearest Blue and IMMEDIATELY hit LIKE. But the remainder of your choices were TOP NOTCH.
Thanks Tony! Yeah i tried to get a few modern ones in there as well
@@Media_Ranker It couldn't have been easy narrowing it down to just 100. And even determining whether a song fit into the "synth pop" category. Hats off to you my friend. Truly. 👏👏👏👏
@@TonyLeadholm Yeah that really is true actually on both points, sometimes a song would come up that was just part of the New Wave era but technically wasnt Snyth Pop etc. Cheers Tony
The Sound Of The Future
Here are 11 that are not on your list, that are awesome: Metro/Berlin, Every Day Is Halloween/Ministry, Send Me an Angel/Real Life, Saved By Zero/The Fixx, Groove Is In the Heart/Deee-Lite, She Blinded Me With Science/Thomas Dolby, What's On Your Mind/Information Society, Sexual(Li Da Di)/Amber, Crucified/Army of Lovers, Hold Me Now/Thompson Twins, It Feels So Good/Sonique
There's more lacking than this-hell there's no bloody Kim Wilde: the 80s Queen and music Queen is NOT even there ONCE! No 'Cambodia-R', no 'Chequered Love', 'You Keep Me Hangin' On' or 'You Came', never mind all the even more important masses of them that always get ignored: 'Bitter Is Better', 'Ego', 'Take Me Tonight', 'Stay Awhile', 'The Second Time', 'Hey Mister Heartache', 'Child Come Away', 'Boys', 'House Of Salome', 'The Touch', 'Shangri-La', 'Dancing In The Dark' etc.
There's no China Crisis, Shakespears Sister, Natasha England, Real Life (you did mention this act above), Blancmange (unless I missed them), Kirsty MacColl, Thompson Twins (which you also add), 'Til Tuesday, 'Voice Of The Beehive', 'Machinations, Kids In The Kitchen and more. List is just done to put Depeche Mode in as many times as possible (I don't know why, they completely abandoned their sound in the 90s so stop sucking up to them people). There's decent Duran songs should've been here: 'The Promise', 'Election Day', 'Skin Trade', 'All She Wants Is', 'Sound Of Thunder' too.
Send Me an Angel. Yeah, right now. Real Life had 12 months of brilliance.
@@kyachdistent1301It's certainly an odd list, but fun to check out....What perplexed me most is the 1 Heaven17 song in the rankings was Temptation. What happened to Let Me Go? 🤣
@@BennyBrilleman One way of putting it, seems quite layered towards certain people too.
Excellent list. I was getting worried until you got to #1!👍
Thanks! It had to be that didnt it
I would add the song In my arms of Erasure. My favourite song ever!
The last 50 songs should have all been DM!
I can live with this list.
Nailed it with the top 2.
Thanks for the hard work to compile this list!
Thanks! Yeah i think most would agree with the top 2
e r a s u r e ;-),Mr. Vincent Clarke - Synthpop Genius...
Absolutely! Thanks for watching
Great compilation, music was so good back then!
Thanks! It really was
Thank you for the interesting video 🥰, I liked it 😊, Depeche Mode and Tears For Fears are the coolest and favorite bands for me, always in my heart 🥰❤️😍, but it’s just a little disappointing that your list had very few Depeche Mode songs,😔🥺 on first place I would put Stripped or Black Celebration or Master And Servant 🤔
Thanks for watching. Well there is 6 Depeche Mode songs overall i just thought for this i couldnt have too many songs from one artist for a top 100, even though its subjective and overall for my personal taste i probably could have picked a few more too, including those you said. Cheers
Okay, thank you for your answer ☺️, I really want them to make a second part, maybe these Depeche Mode songs that I mentioned in my comment will be continued 🤔🙏
I especially loved the sound of the early eighties. Of the songs listed, I would place Fade To Grey, Hey Little Girl and the Flock of Seagulls stuff much higher. Their first two albums are excellent. Further songs that come to mind are Johnny And Mary ( Robert Palmer), City Of Night and Coboloid Race ( Rational Youth), View From A Bridge and Cambodia ( Kim Wilde) and Static ( Planet P Project). You mention Together in Electric Dreams from the " Electric Dreams" soundtrack, but I feel the Jeff Lynne songs on there are a cut above the rest in terms of quality. Most people do not associate ELO with synth pop, but you should really have a listen to the brilliant " Time" album ( Twilight, Here Is The News) or tracks such as Secret Messages or Heaven Only Knows Alt. Version. I would also recommend the APP albums. Some of their songs might qualify as symphonic synth pop.
Enjoy the Silence is the greatest song ever.
Great list, I’d have gone with new orders “your silent face”for #1 and joy divisions “atmosphere” is criminally over looked!
Some favorites from this century:
Goldfrapp - Strict Machine
Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch
Royksopp - Only This Moment
The Knife - Silent Shout
Robyn - With Every Heartbeat
Roisin Murphy - Primitive
IGO - Synth Love
to mention just a few
They couldn't even remember the most valuable like Kim Wilde FROM the era of the synth. Look at it there's hardly any women there, you got loads from later.
Love Goldfrapp!
Kraftwerk The modell it appeared on the lists again in 1981. And managed to get to first place in England. Kate Bush topped the charts again in 2022 because of Stranger Things. Gary Numan Cars was also a hit in 1980
Yeah, not surprising with timeless music like this. Computer Love was used for a Coldplay song too. Cheers
Where are "The Great Commandment", "Breath Of Life", "Domino Dancing, "Living In Oblivion", "Go West" and "The More You Live, The More You Love".
Yes but this first: WHERE IS KIM WILDE?! She's not there even once and she owned that decade-'Chequered Love', 'Water On Glass', 'Boys' and 'Cambodia-R' from '81, 'View From A Bridge', 'Ego', 'Bitter Is Better' and 'Child Come Away'-'82, 'Love Blonde' and 'Dancing In The Dark'-'83, 'House Of Salome', 'The Second Time' and 'The Touch'-'84, 'Rage To Love' and 'Turn It On'-'85, 'Schoolgirl' and 'You Keep Me Hangin' On'-'86, 'Another Step (Closer To You)' and 'Say You Really Want Me'-'87, 'Hey Mister Heartache', 'You Came' and 'Never Trust A Stranger'-'88 and 'Four Letter Word', 'She Hasn't Got Time For You' and 'Love In The Natural Way' from '89. If this isn't covering every year, I don't know what is!
@vendettavaldivia I agree...Anything Box should have at least 3 or 4 tracks on here. Answer Me, World Without Love and as you mentioned, Living in Oblivion.
You have no idea how much number 1 made my day ^^
Though not gonna lie, bit sad the Polish artist Marek Biliński didn't make the list, even though he might be obscure outsude of hus home country, he has sone really amazing music.
Thanks, definitely going to be more synth pop videos in the future! Cheers

I like how most of it is 80s music
Definitely the peak era for this sound and genre wasnt it! Thanks for watching
It should only be the 80s for this category
I thought that " Take on Me" would be #1..... after it wasnt, i went with Blue Monday
Some favorites from previous century:
From France: Elli et Jacno - Main Dans La Main and Desireless - Voyage Voyage
From Italy: Matia Bazar - Elettrochoc
From Japan: Yellow Magic Orchestra - Firecracker and P-Model - Logic Airforce
I do love a good rank! I think I would find it impossible to come up with my own top 100, even with a loose definition of synthpop! I would struggle to not fill it with Mesh tracks for a start, as well as John Foxx, Blancmange, Royksopp, Parralox and Naked Lunch!
🖤🎹🖤🎹🖤
Yeah i could have, and probably should have, made this much more than a top 100 really! Thanks for watching
You spin me round by DOA should be at least in the top 20.
This list is fantastic. Might have to create a matching playlist in Apple Music.
Thanks! I will be making playlists for all the videos eventually, but that will be on Spotify.
Modern Talking forever!
Pretty Good List. My favorite bands are New Order, OMD, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Midge Ure, Great list.
All legends! Thanks for watching
Good to see Vince Clarke featuring heavily in this list. There could have been a lot more.
Pretty decent list. I'd quibble with some of the placement and maybe about ten entries or so that I don't think belong on the list. The real problem is the inclusion of songs that aren't synthpop except under a very generous definition of the genre.
Cheers. Yeah it seems there is a debate on what counts, all these songs had synth pop as at least one of their genres if it wasnt the only one though. I will likely do another version of this in the future
Love that there are new songs on this list too, but I didn't see The Midnight (probably the best of the current synth bands) who has some absolutely beautiful music.
Thanks! Ill be completely honest i dont know them, at least not immediately by their name so ill definitely check them out. I think i will probably do a separate modern synth pop video as well actually. Cheers
Great ranking 👏🏼 but missing Peter Schilling!
Thanks, he will definitely be in part 2
Tolle Musik, in einer echt geilen Zeit, bin jetzt ü60 und 😢😢😢😢schwer krank.
Book Of Love - Boy , Righeira - Vamos A La Playa, Mecano - Maquillaje, Lipps Imc. - Designer Music, Sylvester - Doy You Wanna Funk, Freeez- I.O.U., Imagination - Just Am Illusion, Missing Persons - Destination Unknown, Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out, Total Coelo - I Eat Cannibals, Kano - I'm Ready, George Kranz - Trommeltanz (Din Dan Daa),, Laidback - White Horse, Tarzan Boy - Baltimora, Stephen ''Tin Tin'' Duffy - Kiss Me and any song from the Thompson Twins....
Loved OMD and still do

for me 1. Smalltown Boy 2 Everything Counts 3 Blue Monday 4 Nighttime XX 5 Not Enough Violence Ariel Pink
Thanks, ill definitely add those others for future synth pop videos
@@Media_Ranker Based on your selection, you would definitely love the band Black Marble , check out It's Conditional for example. Awesome track
#1 SAVAGE - Don`t Cry Tonight 1983
"Blue Monday" #1 yeah !
what about "Close to me" from Cure ?
I Love Erasure !
Well that’s the soundtrack of my youth summed up perfectly 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks! You definitely grew up in a brilliant era for music
Born in 1970 so lived through all this - and I took it all for granted! Great count-down. Never did like Blue Monday though 😂
I often heard their songs it thru cd or mp3 but some of it never see their video. Music videos in the 80's are limited to watch coz its only tv station has capable get it abroad & broadcast it locally
Japanese 80s synthpop scene was also really big and great, one reason japanese produce Roland and Yamaha syntetizer, unfortunately japanese dont promote worldwide their music, here is some examples, Meiko Nakahara - Dance in the memories 1986, Miharu koshi - Parallelism 1984, Miharu Koshi - Ryugujyo no Koibito 1984, Jun Togawa - Yume Miru Yakusoku 1985, Minako Honda - Satsui no Vacance, Kikuchi Momoko - Deja Vu 1986, Wink - Turn it into love 1988,
Done by a complete amateur. Only one Kraftwerk song in the whole top 100 ? Seriously? The pioneers of electronic music. I know this video is only one person's opinion but come on.... at least do some bloody research!
Why do people keep missing the second one lol. But youve contradicted it with the opinion point because this isnt about the most significant to the genre etc, its about the sound of the songs. Otherwise it would be Kraftwerk and Gary Numan at the top with one or two others lol. Cheers
I'm shocked there were a couple I didn't know! So good to see Tears For Fears, New Order, Gary Numan, Human League represented and shocked Heaven 17 ranked, one of my all time favorites!
Thanks, yeah Heaven 17 are underrated i think!
I will go through these music videos, I am familiar with about 90% of them.
My two favorite parts of 80s culture is neon and synth music.
Yeah i tried to get a few modern ones in there too, 2 of them are from the movie Drive, thats great if you havent seen that. Thanks for watching
@@Media_Ranker That is a great film!
@@Media_Ranker The song "Only You" by Yazoo is at the finale of the film Can't Hardly Wait.
Highly recommend watching that!
@@btetschner Dont think i have actually, ill have to check that out. Cheers
@@Media_Ranker Cheers
MAJOR thanks for the uploader! 👋
Although, MAJOR different opinions about the final TOP from my side 😷
Thanks! Yeah fair enough lol what would your top 10 be?
@@Media_Ranker Thanks for feedback! 😊
I have to think about it a bit, but I'll post it here a.s.a.p in near future, if is's ok 🙂
Great selection but i missed bands: Berlin, Camouflage,Fad Gadget, Blancmange, B-Movie etc
Definitely going to be a part 2 of this. Cheers
That’s a fantastic list! Even though I didn’t always agree with the order every song was amazing!
Thanks!
You can't convince me this wasn't compiled with a random number generator 😂
Surely not those top 2 though? lol. Thanks for watching anyway
@@Media_Ranker I'd swap them round myself but yeah I can't argue with the top 2 I guess 😅
Спасибо брат! Мне 60.
Пахнуло молодостью.
Nicely done Sir! Pretty much dominated by the Brits 🖖👍🇬🇧
Thanks! Brits definitely excelled with this sound!
@@Media_Ranker big new wave overlap
Although I am a die hard Depeche Mode fan, I miss Being Boiled by Human League 🤔
Good list, although there were a few "new' songs in there that should be removed.
Talk Talk and Tears for Fears. ❤
Did I miss Berlin - The Metro? I've never even heard of the #5 song or band
No but actually youve reminded me i really could've/should've had Take My Breath Away in there! Definitely will for part 2 if i do it! Temptation by Heaven 17 is great you should give it a full listen! Thanks for watching
W młodości miałem chopla !! Na punkcie synt.popu. new romantic .często wracam do nich. Bardzo lubię. Ubierałem się w stylu.new romantic cudo! Lat 80.super.
Dzien kuje
Some bands cannot be strictly classified as synth pop. I would doubt Duran Duran, for instance.
Not synth pop as their only genre thats true, but every song here had synth pop as at least one of their genres so thats what i used for selection. Cheers
Sad indictment that there is only one modern track. But no1 and 2…. SPOT ON!!!! The 12”inch of blue Monday is awesome and the Spence mode takes me back to being 18 again!!!!
I think were was 3?. But actually i might do a modern version of this, but really the golden era for this has gone hasnt it. Thanks!
Great music!
Such a great genre isnt it! Cheers
John Foxx... Any track from "Metamatic" 🖤
My number 1 favourtie song of all time was at number 9 :D :D :D
100% a classic! Thanks for watching
I miss 80's
Needs And One, De/vision, Beborn Beton, Camouflage, S.P.O.C.K., Welle Erdball, Mesh, Iris, Melotron, !Distain, Wolfsheim, Seabound and many more…
Pretty good, but I would have included Hold Me Now by the Thompson Twins, Take My Breath Away by Berlin, Send Me An Angel by Real Life, Love My Way by the Psychedelic Furs, Steppin' Out by Joe Jackson, 99 Luftballons by Nena, Wonderful Life by Hurts, plus Tainted Love and Take On Me should have been in the top ten.
Thanks, definitely include those for part 2!
Give me 100 Depeche Mode songs - that’s all I need! 😊
This is actually a great list. It is missing The Chemical Brothers - Galvanize and every Missing Persons song.
other than that I am good.
Yeah thats fair, i kept The Chemical Brothers for separate dance music videos really, and for future ones too. Thanks for watching
Where is the Peter Schilling's music? Major Tom or The Different Story?
The Weeknd Above of KRAFTWERK? WTF
Depeche Mode is the best! ❤
I loved most of these and can't dispute a lot at the top. It's my life might be favourite track but this was a great list.
Thanks! Yeah that is a great song it maybe could have been higher actually
