    Hi, internet mechanic here. Just add some Moreys oil stabiliser, will fix all your issues. Your welcomes 😊

    How much oil pressure was it running at the track?
    Cut the oil filter open to inspect for bearing material first.
    If there’s crap in it, drop the sump and inspect each rod.

    • @RCrazyNZ
      @RCrazyNZ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @pj3635 oil pressure was good and I didn't see anything alarming in the oil filter hence my apprehension in removing the motor!

    I spoke to Rotofarian and he reckons it's because your engine goes up and down not round and round! But jokes aside, to me sounds like bottom end knock. Personally id start by taking off drivebelts to eliminate any auxillary stuff, pull the sump and inspect as well as spanner checking over the car as best I can. Lemme know if you need a hand mate

    Have you checked timing chain guides and tensioners? I was going to mention exhaust gasket/s as well but it sounds like you’ve already looked at them?

    • @RCrazyNZ
      @RCrazyNZ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah had a look this morning chain tensioner is tight so is chain with no witness marks on the chain guide. Good suggestions though! Definitely areas that could make those noises.

    might have a loose bracket or bolt. like one of your mount bolts might be half out and only rattles when your torquing the engine one way

    • @RCrazyNZ

      Good point I might take the sump off to start with.

  • @vr4gotti
    @vr4gotti หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Take the sump off first before pull motor out and check for play or any signs of metal shavings I had this issue were you could only hear it when your on the throttle and was a rod bearing me personally I would of got that motor checked over first before I put in being 2nd hand engine as that’s a hit and miss but each to there own ratchet this happen for you hopefully it’s not to major the problem

    what oil you running ? hopefully 15w60 on the track ? what other oil mods was done to the sump ?

    • @RCrazyNZ
      @RCrazyNZ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      no oil mods but it wasn't driven that aggressively on the track tbh. No oil mods to sump. Oil was 10 40 castrol. It's what I've run for close to 20 years now with no issues on track or drag strip.

    Timing chain tensioner gone bad? I don't know exactly what type of tensioner they use, but have heard similar to bearing noises coming from buggered ones 😅 if they're fed by pressurized oil, its probably fine, if it's hydraulic/standalone, could be worth taking the valve cover off to check if there's heaps of slack in the chain, turn it over by hand aswell and check the slack at different points as the tensioner might suddenly compress more than it should at a certain point of rotation 👌

    • @RCrazyNZ
      @RCrazyNZ  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are a mechanical unit, I've had chains stretch and hit the chain guide before and make a knocking noise. I didn't think to look for witness marks on this I'll take a look at that. Good point.

      Tbh I'm on the fence on what to do and thought posting a video up would provide me alternative feedback to consider. I'm pretty sure it's rod knock but there aren't any metal flakes in the oil filter or oil pan. There's a lot of smart people out there who have experienced different things so thought I'd put it out there.
