I love that he has a Jamaal Charles jersey dangling over the fireplace gate. One thing I've always appreciated about him, besides his music is that he also really likes sports.
+Chad Foltz Jesus, talk about low standards. He takes a shit every day too - just like you! - but that doesn't make it worthy of appreciation. Use your brain.
Asked him about that today after they did a KEXP session in Seattle; he said he just had a "special feeling" about Jamaal from the second he saw him, and mentioned he has that same special feeling about Patrick Mahomes now. He thinks the Chiefs fleeced Washington in the trade and they're going to be on the up and up this season. Pretty rad.
I like the old poetry books!!!!! Back in the day poets were relegated to printed pages and construction paper covers. I also liked the sculpture, but did his wife mind that it was featured on camera?????
+Robert LeRoy Can't forget the Motor City, especially when you're promoting empty consumerism, violence, and a primitive, anti-intellectual approach to life!
Stephen's facial expression while on the swing right at the end of this video is priceless! Sort of "What? Well f*ck you with your phony documentaries and judgemental insights, I'm just having fun. So what?" Brilliant! :-)
If you want to know what Stephen Malkmus *doesn't care about, watch this video. Contrary to popular belief, irony is *not his default setting. Many more engaged and engaging interviews with him here on TH-cam.
I have to run so far to find a clear spot in the hot Sun's all hottin' and a-rottin' hot Swamp's all rotten 'n' stinkin', uhh Vegetation's hot Sleepin' in a bayou on a old rotten cot
Not really. There's a variety of poetry sub genres such as vagina poets, hair poets, not to mention the western-modern hegemony critisism smell poet movement in the early seventies.
Wow, depressing. So many great songs, talented guy, seems very intelligent... yet he's into mindless sports like most of the apes. Also, while he usually comes across as a bored, hipster know-it-all, here he's just boring.
Maybe he just likes to play, rather than the much more mindless fandom and tv-watching that you're probably referring to. I could be wrong but I think the hat is probably ironic considering it's for the Detroit pistons. Nawmean?
Hey man, he's not gonna big himself up and be all energetic if that's not his personality, just him being chilled out doesn't make him dull and boring, but your comment makes you look like someone with a very short attention span, so I bet in fact your a bit boring
Malkmus looks like he works at quick stop
hhaha, I love how he kinda sounds sarcastic.. like you can't take anything he's saying seriously

Jamaal is from the same city Bun B grew up in: Port Arthur, Texas!
I'm not a big "art" guy, but i really dig his wife's sculpture. Two human beings were molded down by the media into news headlines and glitzy rocks.
But all that's missing is the sculpture representing Brian Jones.Keith swooped in on Bri in Morocco and swiped his gal. I know. I was there.
duck brewster where in Morocco?
is horrible!
Nice Pistons cap, Steve! Detroit loves you. Well, I do. And I speak for Detroit!
A Don Van Vliet sketch for a Stranglers picture disc - HOLY COW!
my king
Oh Stephen, you are amazing. Still got it. :)
I like the old poetry books!!!!! Back in the day poets were relegated to printed pages and construction paper covers. I also liked the sculpture, but did his wife mind that it was featured on camera?????

Tigers - by the jicks. 9 years late but I hope you got the chance to listen to the song!
That Pistons hat though. Way to represent Detroit Stephen!
+Robert LeRoy Can't forget the Motor City, especially when you're promoting empty consumerism, violence, and a primitive, anti-intellectual approach to life!
I've got more guitars than Stephen and i'm useless - I feel bad about that.
Awesome.

Sculpture looks like a chunk taken from the Beta Bridge. I like the Obama couch better. P the gp
“Language poet”?? Aren’t all poets?
Not really. There's a variety of poetry sub genres such as vagina poets, hair poets, not to mention the western-modern hegemony critisism smell poet movement in the early seventies.
@ugetdownfrmthere Agreed
Please don't feed the troll.
Stoner dad of the year, tied w/ Kurt Vile
. . . He's still alive
I woudn't like that sculpture in my living room.
That sculpture...More like, belongs in the trash!!!
Honestly can't tell if he's serious about his wife's "sculpture" or he's just having fun with us. What ever happened to real art?
Cmon Steve... the Pistons suck
i can't listen to pavement when i'm high.too snotty wimpy arty creepy
Laurie woods haha interesting
RIP Stephen... you will be missed!

You seem closed-minded
Actually, I'm into thinking about and discussing things. That's why I'm here, watching videos (getting new information) and inviting comment.
Maybe he just likes to play, rather than the much more mindless fandom and tv-watching that you're probably referring to. I could be wrong but I think the hat is probably ironic considering it's for the Detroit pistons. Nawmean?
Wow what a strange and boring comment
