Yep, Class 66 was built by GM-EMD. Pull off the Class 59-derived bodywork (funnily enough, 59 is also an EMD product) and it's basically an SD70 with a double-ended boxcab and the engine in a different tune. Yes, this includes the HTCR radial trucks, or in Queen's English, self-steering bogies. There are certainly worse locomotives to convert
Little tip, you don't have too, however when entering a tunnel or passing through a station, pip the horn to warn others. I like to get creative with the tunes, Imperial march for stations. Its great fun.
British Brandon actually they removed that one from the real rulebooks so I hear. Still fun to do though 🤪

I'm an American but I really love the class 66. It's a lot smaller than us locos but it's still beautiful and it has that amazing EMD 710 sound.
The 66 is a EMD locomotive made for the smaller loading gauge of British railways; but it's been exported to a number of other European countries.
You wouldn’t love it if you had to drive it regularly. I drive them in Belgium/Germany/Netherlands. They rattle, noisy and uncomfortable. Also the British loading gauge makes them a pain to change cabs. Mainland Europe has a larger loading gauge. All our drivers are happy to get a Bombardier 186 traxx or a Siemens Vectron. I will say one thing for the class66, when climbing in wet weather they will not let you down, they are like slow mountain goats.

there has been alot of optimisations. i used to play on an fx8300 with a gtx 1050ti 4gb and fps used to be lower than 40 but now its like 96fps on ultra

In Train Sim World 2, on a Sand Patch Grade scenario where you are required to tow 2 GP38-2 to the summit, I managed to get the rear locomotives fully set up to "push" my consist from behind by leaving 1 reverser key in the trailing locomotive set in reverse with the generator field on, up a 0.8% to 1.8% gradient and it worked, you can quite literally drive the tail end locomotive from an open window on this scenario.
I don't know what it is but you can talk rubbish and it will sound great. I found this very chilling and peaceful. I like watching this stuff rather then playing.
As someone who doesn't own a high performing PC, I'm glad this game is offered free to play on XBox game pass ultimate.

My dad started work on the Brighton line at 15.Tea boy then Firemen made engine driver on 1949. Must have gone up and down 1000's of times. Passed away at 62 in 1985. He was based at Three Bridges.

Great video and great mission. Only improvement that could be made is to take the passengers off the station because if there's a landslide there would be no passenger services and the line would be closed.
Only one thing missed that’s not a marker light you didn’t change the tail lamps but apart from that and speeding not to bad

5:19 I'm not sure if this is quite the same, but in the long island railroad dlc, with the passenger door/comms keys, your character appears to carry more than one. Basically each train car in the long island railroad dlc has one doors/comms board for each side; one for the left, and one for the right, yet you can put a key in both at the same time, so I think it would be the same for the reverser keys

I agree, train sims generally tend to ignore us. I'd love to see the Central to Lithgow run, with that climb up the Blue Mountains, for example. Plus in TSW we could do what Sydney Trains and NSW Trains seems to fail to do, and actually run the trains to time.

I can only assume you have been listening to me and my friends Conversation we had hours ago lol. We said the same thing about TSW. Needs more scenarios and more creativeness. The lack of difference in each DLC puts me off them. I'd love as you say some user created missions. Would be great fun.
Interesting that they tell you to release the brakes when turning around. Every trains I've seen requires you to put the brakes into emergency to stop it from rolling away when changing ends.
Unfortunately thats because the DTG don't know what they are doing when it comes to that side of things.
@@lolzlolz102 actually, they DO know what they're doing. As far as i know there's a difference between braking systems. In the US trains need air pressure for braking. In Europe we need air pressure to loosen the brakes, so when you disconnect your locomotive all the brakes will automaticly apply

I find it hilarious in countries where they drive on the opposite side of the road and their trains are set up to drive on the opposite of ours in the States
France is like that because its network was initially built with British assistance. With the exception of the Alsace and Lorraine regions in the east of the country, which were part of Germany from 1871 to 1918.

I have driven that train IRL. And tbh, to have 2 trains cuppeld is not necesarry or practical. The driver room is very accurate tho. In Sweden there are some mote panels for train safetey systems and stuff. This is a very brittish engine. The worst with the engine is that it is very loud especially at throttle stage 7 and 8.
I just wish he continues the TMCN

Talking about the class 377 I'm actually driving one from Bedford station my hometown st. Pancras then continuing the journey on the Brighton mainline in the class 377 in Southern you don't know the class 377 used to run on the Midland mainline and I've got class 43 HST in East Midlands on the line and the meridian and I've also got class 319 and class 700 from superalbs my scenario takes place between 2016 and 2017 somewhere in between when the class 700 just entered service and I got class 319 and class 377 the class 319 I got from Armstrong Powerhouse I got the volume 1 and volume 2 to that means I've got a load of variety on the line in train simulator 2020

Paul...in response to your comment re Dovetail games policy on fixing earlier DLCs, unfortunately it is a bit hit and miss. They tend to go back and fix earlier routes if they are intending on releasing new content for them (ie loco DLC). An example of this is the Rapid Transit route which was one of the earliest routes which had numerous PZB and signalling issues and was left in this state until they brought out the 182 loco DLC....16mths after the route release !
I dare say, they probably would never have fixed it if they hadn't released DLC for it. There are similar examples with other routes, I don't think we will see this pattern changing in the future until an editor / workshop support is released which will allow modders to 'fix' older routes or even better merge routes (RRO & RSN for example share a common endpoint station as does LIRR and NEC:NY...those seem like no-brainers to merge in the future once the tools are available)
Each loco has it's own key , should be stored on board. Y ou partially released the brake from the rear loco , and then presumably left it like that when returning to '089. Brake should have dumped prior to vacating , but should have done so automatically when removing the reverser key. To "cut out" the brake - I presume you mean isolate, for dead-in-train hauling - the brake must be dumped before any such isolation takes place. If not , well, runaways have occurred for this reason , and it kinda spoils your day ! Not sure about brake isolation from the EM2000 , rather than the E70 on the brake stand, but Ill let that go! Nice work with the sim , and as we know, it never rains in England.........
That needle above the speed is not the trend its the G force when accelerating and braking.
Ps, I'm about done with this game, got it for the Xbox One, the motion blur with wipers on is horrendous, 18months after realise, still.not been fixed, but they keep pumping out DLC at £25 a pop, that would be great to cross over something else that was promised but they have declined to do for the XB1 so I've bought DLC for scenario maker that isn't coming.
I can't get over the graphics they are amazing, is it easy enough to use for a newbie like myself

I sure loads of people have said this but this game was created by a different company from train simulator and when the game first game out it was a cheap game that was created so Xbox and ps players could play it as pc had train simulator but as the game got so popular it was then brought to pc then of course more and more DLCs started to come out and they have been fixing glitches on the Xbox as I play Xbox and more of the glitch I have found have been patched with In a week or so 🙂

And there would also be distruption in Manchester because a landslide in the south east according to network rail caused delays in the Midlands and the north
8:20 I thought England used kilometers regularly, why did you say it uses mph here? When I was in school we were taught that the systems of measurement were The Metric System and the "British System" so I assumed that the UK used feet, miles, gallons, pounds (weight), and Fahrenheit.

@squirrel I couldn't agree more. I love playing TSW, but after you do the 4 scenarios in each DLC, it gets boring and repetitive playing different timetable slots over and over. They need to focus less on new lines and trains, and put out missions for the existing DLC. I also would pay to add missions to the DLC packs I already own.

It would also be nice to swap the owned locos/units/rolling stock etc, on the different dlc routes, as you can do on TS. Like a class 47 with Mk2s, on GWE🤷🏼♂️

I've only recently discovered your channel after buying ETS2, awesome stuff! I did have a question though. You mentioned in older videos about where the devs could take the game, especially for players who have accumulated a lot of financial resources, etc., the way fines and costs end up having little meaning...
I've watched a fair few (mainly Russian) dashcam vids in the past; what do you think of the idea of the game being able to hit the player with events more akin to out of the blue total disaster? Having to deal with that sort of thing? For example, a truck coming in the opposite direction jack knifes, or even turns over. Or cargo falls off a truck just as it gets close, spraying the road with grud knows what, or a truck infront sheds its load, or - many vids of this - a truck nearby suddenly loses its entire rear wheel assembly, or a wheel flies off, or (most commonly of all) a car nearby does something stupid. And I think you mentioned at one point the idea of external environmental events such as land or rock slides, flood, etc.
Or how about disaster at home, a fire in a garage one owns. In other words, thinking of real life, there's a lot more one could include in the game, and the severity of such things could be defined precisely so that they either only happen to the more experienced or rich players, or only if one ventures to parts of the world map where accidents and crazy events are more likely (Russia being the most well known of course, but not the only place), or - if one is not rich - one chooses to allow such events to be possible even when only at a lesser level.
On the dashcam vids, it is quite extraordinary how sometimes a truck driver is able to avoid the chaos that has erupted infront of them, though of course they're not always successful. If you knew such things were possible, that'd keep you a bit more on edge, especially in bad weather, while of course the payouts for dangerous destinations could be all the higher to account for the risks. Wild animals on the road, abandoned cars, a collapsed bridge...
Just some random thoughts from someone who atm knows almost diddly squat about this, but I have spent a lot of time discussing general notions of immersive functionality in game worlds elsewhere, so I think the base concepts are much the same, especially the potential for emergent behaviour.
I'm not sure how it could tie into multiplayer though, that's a fair bit more complicated.

Squirrel they arent really old trains as far as trains go there kinda new they just have an old design because they where baced of the class 59 which are older
Have this on my Xbox but cant get this service going, go to the other cab and the brakes won't release but on the timetabled section to get aggregate to and from Lewes to Newhaven its fine

I run an ryzen cpu and nvidia graphics card, they work fine together.
