He has later described the song: We smashed it when we used to play it live. I love the guitar solo and the drop down in the middle. Alan McGee obsessed over the line about being the underclass and wanted that to be the first single. For my part, all those songs that have a political undercurrent are real because I was just writing them from the heart. I don’t sit down and think politics let’s get to the bones of this shit. But at that point I was unemployed, in rented accommodation, trying to make it in the world, living from one week to the next, not knowing if you’re gonna have enough money for a pizza. You are in a political situation even if you don’t realise it, cos that is the battleground, that is the essence of politics: accommodation, food and trying to make a living.
That's why i never think oasis's lyrics are meaningless(some critics always say Oasis songs are meaningless , even Noel himself keeps saying that many of his lyrics are shit) In fact, most of their lyrics are so real and honest. Maybe Noel is not a poet nor litterateur, but when he wrote those songs, he is being completely honest and true to himself, that's why people around the world can feel connected to after so many years.
massively agree, when the original drummer was fired they never had the same aggression in their sound and started recording bollocks like she's electric and the cringing "don't go away, roll with it" etc
Simon G. Powell Your post was poetic in an Oasis way: spelling “shear” wrongly and referring to the existence of heaven which cannot be proved by science as a scientific fact - this is the epitome of oasis poetry

One of the most powerful and at the time, the most underated songs from this famous band. Here in their underdog times it sounds way better than the one they recorded for the official release. This fast and evolving rythm shows the energy and enthusiasm they used to have by those years.

Punky AF in places. Liam sounds so young! Like he's half way between his early Browny like vocals and what he became. Solid rhythm guitar, as to.be expected; Guigs totally audible in the break down, more than he had been since See the sun, I reckon. Noel's playing is tits. Absolutely nothing wrong with what Tony does on this, imo.
i dont either. the passage that starts at 2:13 where he dances on the top two strings rips a hole in my soul every time i hear it and how he ends it before the pounding of the drums is perfection. take it from someone who plays its not as easy as it sounds either. i think its noels finest moment on the electric guitar
Bring It On Down has always been in my top five Oasis tunes and it might be my favourite. The punky wall of noise coupled with Noel's insanely catcy lead guitar fingering is pure pop bliss. Later Oasis incarnations never matched this early raw and primal juiciness.
Compare this to the version Liam's band played in 2018. The lead guitarist sounds like a poser doesn't even attempt to play the correct notes for the solo. There's no replacing The Chief
A criminally under rated Oasis song, and this version captures the punk essence of the song better than the album version.
Second best song they did for myself
Exactly

Great song great vocals and guitar
great recording

WOW how bout them vocals!!! holy shit he actually sings

when you expect guitar solos on your favorite heavy metal songs, but with Oasis it's different, the solos are there because it has to be there.

He did mention once that he keep repeating himself on the guitar, so decided to focus more on the songs.

The sheer drill slide of the axe guitar fken ell edit yes i experienced it at 22 in 93 demo ep

From this to the interviews and the person Noel has become, London consumed him, so sad
100%. That snd the cocaine magnified his already considerable ego.

And what you rather him do? Stay in Burnage with the rest of the dossers? Not enjoy his success?
