Scott, I can't tell you the number of times I wished you'd elaborate on your involvement with this film! Honestly, this video feels like it was tailor made just for me. I'm a massive Tarantino fan and an avid researcher of Hollywood history. Your channel is utterly amazing.
Anyone who hasn't seen the 6 degrees of Helter Skelter, by all means should take time to view it on TH-cam. Its definitely the "mother of all Manson documentaries " the last word if you will..again great job Scott!!
Just watched it for the first time. Thanks for the recommendation. Truly sick and evil in the world. So sad for the people that were butchered by the Manson Cult.
@@kimsinclair9100 you're absolutely right. I was 10 years old growing up in Southern California in 1969 and remember the murders vividly, and the thing that upsets me the most is the younger generations that seem to glorify Charles Manson and his family..there's a good reason why those murderers are still in jail, and should damn well stay there!
I love that in addition to the usual collectibles, Scott always gets the stuff no one else would consider but is SO important and interesting. No wonder Tarantino contacted him
Just caught this tonite, which is great bec. I just saw the movie last night for the first time. I enjoyed it very much. A longtime researcher of the Tate/Bugliosi/Manson subject, it was good to see a film where Sharon & friends did not get murdered for a change. Your souvenirs are beyond cool. You went to the Oscars!!! Good for you! I could not see Jay Sebring's shop last nite in the movie. I think you have another video on here where you talk about it more, and maybe I'll find some clues. LOVE that shirt and t-shirt! Thanks much for sharing this with us.
I absolutely love Scott’s attention to detail in everything, as well as his love for the movie, and everything related to that year, 1969. Thanks, as always, Scott.
I love all of his movies but this is my favorite. My love of Hollywood, having lived there forever and the Tate/Manson story. Helter Skelter is the only book I have ever read 3 times. I have consumed everything about it. In 2009, on the 40 year anniversary, my friends and I drove up Cielo to the house. While we were kind of hanging around on the street, someone drove in through the gate and we could see on the property (for the first time) that there was quite a bit of movement. It seemed as though they were having a 40 year anniversary party there that night. We of course then drove over to Los Feliz to the LaBianca's home. I love, love, love the ending that he created in the movie. It breaks my heart in the best way every, single, time I see it. It's strikingly beautiful. So awesome you got to be a part of it!!! Great video as well!
That was so great Scott. How cool, you and Troy got to go to the Oscars! That’s got to be a Wow moment for the both of you. I just love your videos. You both do great work. Thank you both.
I had a bottle of Hai Karate as a kid. It came with an instruction manual of karate moves to use on the women who attack you because you're wearing it.
Trivia for you. What is the connection between Elvis Presley and Jay Sebring? The answer is stylist Larry Geller. He left working for Jay Sebring in 1964 to be Elvis' stylist and spiritual guru.
You're looking very flamboyant in this video, Mr. Michaels! More superb work; I've enjoyed your collaborations with Jordan the Lion as well and want to say thanks for keeping us up with happenings (past/present) in the L.A. area.
Scott’s passion for this subject is so infectious, no wonder QT sought him out as an advisor for (the movie), well let’s face it who else could he have gone to? 10/10 👍
Thank you, Scott, for sharing all of your memorabilia from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Margaret Qualley (Andie MacDowell's daughter) was sitting on the bus bench in front of Pandora's Box, which you mention later in your video. What a fabulous experience to work with Quentin Tarantino! So happy he's restoring The Vista Theater, on Sunset Blvd. I wish there were more people like him who appreciated old Hollywood like he does. Super cool!
Scott , for how much you ( and I as well ) are enamored and into old Hollywood , the fact that Tarantino kind of made a time capsule for you to experience is amazing. Wish I could've seen it myself !!! Great video as always !!
Thank you Scott for sharing your experience & your historical input into the making of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I am reading the hardcover novel now which includes some special goodies. So many of us truly love the film. You just don't want the film to end! Peace & happiness to you & Troy.
I know what you mean about not wanting the movie to end because deep down we wish these Manson murders would have never happened to such lovely people who still had so much life to live ahead of them before they’re lives were brutally cut short. 🥀
Hi Scott, I finally got to see Once Upon A Time In Hollywood yesterday and I absolutely loved the movie! I want to watch it again! You should be proud of the work you've done on the movie because it is amazing! Thank you for all your content! I am bummed I never made it on one of your tours, but every time I am passing through Palm Springs I am waving at you and saying "Hi Scott, wherever you are!"
Very cool. I saw it in the theater, the day it came out on DVD I bought it... I've seen it probably 18-20 times since. It quickly became one of my favorite movies, ever.
Loved this video! Your knowledge and history regarding Charles Manson is amazing and you so deserved to be a part of this movie! Love the fact you have so many souvenirs from this once in a lifetime experience!! Also our son lives in LA so every time we come to see him we have to go to El Coyote (so yummy!) and we have sat at the table they possibly did or didn’t sit at. Even had us drive the route from the restaurant to close to Cielo Drive lol
❤Exceptional fun video and such a great time for you to be part of such a memorable film. I think i first became aware of the film by watching Jordans channel and he had completely came upon the filming and transformation of the city just by accident as he was just video taping his neighborhood. As with many, i was thoroughly charmed by it all. I am not one to be a Tarantino fan or horror show fan by any means. However, because of the time frame of it, and once i realized it had to do with Tate/Manson lore, it especially had my attention. So knowing it would have Tarantino touch, I knowingly watched the whole thing twice so far. I mean, it is so HISTORIC! Ha. I hooped and clapped all myself watching how Manson people got whipped!! How everyone would have wanted that!😊
Can't wait for his next and final movie. Takes place in the late 1970s and has some kind of "movie critic" theme as Quentin LOVES Pauline Kael (you should read some of her books if you see 'em in used book stores for $5.00). Her reviews are very "outside the box" and can have you looking up words in the dictionary . It would be cheap and tacky for me to guess the plot: " A film maker gets revenge on all the critics from his past that hated his movies". Too obvious.
He filmed the fox studios scene at Excelsior High in Norwalk, two blocks from my house. By the time I put it all together they had just pulled the MO yellow signs down. Wish I grabbed one!
Thanks so much, Scott, for sharing this! Loved it! It's like the companion piece to your OUATIH podcast with Dorsey, which I've listened to, well, several times, let's say. No detail is to small for me. I check periodically to see if the Director's Cut has come out yet; hope you give us a head's up when it does.
Scott thank you. It was very interesting. I really liked the movie so I bought a couple of copies. What a great twist at the end of the movie. Cheers to you sir.
Wonderful memories for you to cherish Scott on having a creative contribution to this Tarantino movie. Congratulations and thank you for sharing it all with us.❤️🙏🏻🌴⭐️
How very chilling the scene where Brad Pitt insists on going inside to see Bruce dean. And the girl who was supposed to be squeaky fromme doing her scene....!
WOW Scott this was an amazing video. Love Tarantino and this was a great movie. Thanks for sharing all of this with us. Your videos are the best. Much love Scott.
Thanks for a peek of all your swag. I have hiked the location of The Spawn Ranch many times through the years. They did such a great job of building the set for it. I wish I knew the secret location of where they were actually filming a few miles away that I know about now. I hiked there also a few ago and wish they had left some of the set for people to explore. I live just up the hill from Paramount Movie Ranch and it was a great place to walk my dog before it burned down. Off subject a little, so will just say thanks for the share.
The BLACK tote bag is not cheaply made-- it;s heavy duty. I bought one on eBay and I asked the seller "Is it cotton CANVAS or that cheap plasticy re-cycled material ? ". The seller had NO CLUE what cotton canvas was. So I took a chance and bought it - it's good quality.
You have such great stuff and very cool experience for you. We recently went to LA and did the Universal backlot tour. We saw the saloon where Leonardo shot the western scene and got to take photos. They also told us QT had tarp put all around so no one could see what was being filmed. It’s one if my favorite movies.
Scott. Cool to see you wearing the Champion spark plug shirt. My first job was at Champion. East side Detroit. 8 mile and Van Dyke. On outer drive behind the very first Drive inn. Bel-air drive in.. Thought you might like to know in case you didn't Detroit home boy..
I haven’t seen the movie but certainly will, love your memorabilia and collections Ty for sharing. Leonardo is going to be in a movie called Murderer of the flower moon about my husbands tribe the Osage can’t wait to see it love Leonardo
Your a cool guy man and I love your channel I am sorry I missed your tour when you where still out in LA but have been enjoying your videos on Hollywood history and your collection of memorabilia.
Such an awesome collection! I'd bet it's one of the most complete collections out there! I need to rewatch this movie again! I love the time period and the historical significance of the movie. I was so distracted when I watched it, I hardly remember any of it! That's a shame. I've seen the new Elvis movie twice already in a day and a half! Although Baz Lehrman's movie isn't extremely accurate, it gets the point across and what a dirty sob Tom Parker was. Thank you for sharing yur awesome "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood " memorabilia with us. It was stunning the amount of pieces you have!
Glad to finally get to see your collection after working on this film. I didn't notice your special thank you credit. I think I saw you had an advisor credit. Nice to hear thingee is still in your vocabulary. Fun vid. Thanks for posting! Hope to catch up one day.
There's a florist near Franklin and western painted in the exact same color scheme as the Pandora's Box. I always assumed they filmed that scene out side of there, My mind is blown to know they repainted another building just for that shot.
I love love love Once Upon a Time.
Scott, I can't tell you the number of times I wished you'd elaborate on your involvement with this film! Honestly, this video feels like it was tailor made just for me. I'm a massive Tarantino fan and an avid researcher of Hollywood history. Your channel is utterly amazing.

I agree I bought a copy many years ago
@@mikeball188 I have the same. 2 sided dvd. The Boneyard pretty good too
I bought it 10 years ago at Walmart for $5. I watch it every year. Great doc. LOVED One upon a time

This was awesome. I love your collections. You were the perfect person to hire as a consultant.
I wish this was an extra on my copy of the movie, lol. I was so pleased with the ending of Once a Time in Hollywood.
