    I spent 40 years as anaesthesiologist and intensivist in the intensive care and the operating room trying to do my best. After some years I learnt when it was useless to keep to prolong the life of a patient when there was nothing you could make for having a "positive result". Putin started a war declaring that he was not going to start any war but a very short military special operation. He has completely failed as a leader,as a commander in chief but above all as a human being. He is as old as I am. I can understand him. In any case his life is over. And it will be over with the FAILURE of his crazy mission. Reestablish 1988 USSR. The USSR of his youth. Sorry Vladimir , but whatever you are going to do,your patient is a dead body. Game over. Not Ucraine,Russia is over.

    Ben Hodge really knows what the situation is. I think he's right. Germany and the US should give the permission to use the long range weapons inside Russia and stops being scare of Putin. This interview is so interesting. Thanks

    • @moxie591
      @moxie591 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rumor is that Biden won't give permission for firing into Russia, besides his usual ongoing fear of escalation, is that it's political and due to the upcoming election. He's worried that if he overly upsets Putin before the election, Putin will do an "October surprise". (Last minute, often in Oct, event, that turns election to the other side.) IE, do something bad enough in the war to cause all US opinion to turn against helping Ukraine or escalate in some manner, it'll cause the democratic candidate to lose the election.
      Silly though, as Putin will likely do it anyways, as he (as well as Israeli PM) wants Republicans to win. Currently, Israeli PM actions really hurting democratic side. Putin, already messing in US election to help Tr**p, as he'll give him Ukraine to Russia, is quite likely to do anything and everything to stir trouble.
      So not sure if permission will matter or not, though US news is mostly silent on Ukraine using own weapons to strike long range air bases and munitions with its own weapons. Not even the Toropets or other outstandingly awesome strikes by Ukraine are in US news. Partly due to 24-7 election coverage (boring). Partly due to US media mostly caring only about Israeli war. Think popular US opinion for use of weapons in Russia would increase if Americans knew Ukraine had already obliterated "red line" using own weapons.
      But maybe not, with 1 candidate running around saying it's going to be WWIII all the time, and trying to win by fear, as he has no other real play, and truly is against Ukraine .

      @@soldierssoldier.1503 Scholtz is a tool, probably compromised. The missiles are a collab. They hold the strings, whomever they are. Developing Ukraine's own arsenal is key and comes with very minimal restrictions. Engineering, resources, manpower... are required. There is much that is not said, be ok with this, don't get upset. Be at peace with what you cannot affect. Put your anger in what you can change, but with love. Keep a cool head and focus on what you can do. It will help you, it will help your country, it will help Ukraine. Be well!

    Reportedly, when Russian forces were driven out of Kherson, Russians still fired missiles back into Kherson. If Russians are driven back beyond the 1991 borders with Ukraine, what is to stop Russia from launching missiles, glide bombs, bullets, or any other hostile substance back into Ukraine? What is to stop Russia from further aggression short of being forced to surrender and sustain a regime change as occurred with NAZI Germany?

    • @AOMA_UTOR
      @AOMA_UTOR หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a civil war brewing in russia. And it is mainly caused by the Ukraine's advancement into russian territory.
      The populace was promised victories all the way to Paris. VICTORIES not SECURITY. They were promised a victorious march of russian army through Europe. The security issue was brought up, but the victory shows had better ratings.
      Propaganda implanted everyone with the idea of threats coming from NATO and the "ferrocious" West. Yet no bomb shelters were built. Noone cared about security because the threat was so real that "we will kill them all before they ever reach out territory. We are not pussies. We do not need shelters, we need shelter busting bombs. Security is not an issue if you have a lot of bombs and some of them are nuclear." Right?
      Now, when they can't deliver victories nor parades, the populace is asking questions. They paid the tzar, by allowing him to steal all the resources, to see their army parading in London, not being masacred in Bahmut. They wanted a horse dose of pride, from another annexation, but got a humiliating dose of shame. The recent eliberation of cities in Kursk region, showed the size of the lies propaganda was feeding them. They can't even defend their borders. Who will let them parade in Ukraine?
      Questions are going to be asked and they will be looking for scapegoats. They will find the scapegoats . And who get to take their place will be decided by the aformentioned war. There are many private armies, nationalistic militants of all kind, ethnic groups who want independence from moskovia, FSB, etc. None of them are united by one ideology. Each group is radically different from the others. The only idea that united all these groups, was the great mother rusha, that protects its children from NATO, gays and Coca-Cola. Since mother russia did not bring victory, she was supposed to at least assure security. It didn't. So the war for other mothers soon com to russia.
      To be continued...

      Depends, if khuylo ends up at the bottom of the deep end, all fresh out of lively bubblies, or in his already awaiting ICC cell, and is replaced by a, relatively, more sensible head of state; then if the boys at the retreating end of the front want to misbehave and display unsportsmanlike conduct, which I really doubt yet there are some unsavory characters out there, their "retirement" shall be swift, one way or the other. Muscovia soldiers weren't "selected" for their gentlemanly features. I can only hope the new head of state will want, more than anything, (to) display redemptive features rather than good ol' "boys will be boys"attitudes.

    Thank you, Henry. Good interview.
    Gen. Hodges is one of a very few war analysts able to say, in clear, plain speech, what is going on from a strategic perspective.
    I share your's and Gen. Hodges' frustration with Biden (insert NSA Jake Sullivan), and his needless restrictions on western weapons use against Russia.
    I'm at a loss to understand such timidity against a nation that has been our primary enemy for 75+ years. They still are, and pose a greater danger to world stability than ever before. More so than even the Soviets.
    In the last few days, Trump has increased his anti-Ukraine rhetoric. His outlandish lies growing bolder and ever more far-fetched. I think it's more for the MAGA audience than any other.
    But, there are many of us Republicans that DO NOT support Trump. Many of us will be voting against Trump, and for Ukraine, by supporting Harris. I do not agree with many of her domestic policies, but it's important to know that, at the very least she will support Ukraine as much as Biden has. And hopefully, much more so.

    I have been very impressed with Ukraine's ability to McGyver weapons, use them, improve them, then mass produce them. They can't use long range NATO weapons, then develop your own. We need to save Ukraine because they are so adept at making weapons, we need their knowledge. They have produced several weapons in just 2 years, weapons the US and NATO would take years to develop and produce. They may not be as sophisticated as the NATO weapons, but they are effective.

    History teaches us one thing. Dictators feed on weakness & indecision; it emboldens them. For Ukraine, 1994 then 2014 were the West's weakness. This weakness led to Feb 22. Putler was not deterred. 🇺🇦🇬🇧🇺🇦

    Sorry, too busy on my personal soapbox to thank you both for an excellent interview. General Hodges I am following you and have been since you started being invited to comment by bloggers, and journalists. I like the straight forward way you explain policy decisions and how strongly you speak in defense of Ukraine and that the US , Germany and the UK need to do more. Thank you and I apologize in advance when I use your interviews to my own ends.

Enough to say that the list supporting Ukraine is growing expotentially.

    I just read in an AP article that Trump stated, "the Ukraine is dead and Zelensky should have taken the deal (whatever that was) that Russia offered to Ukraine prior to the invasion." He also dissed Zelensky over his remarks on Vance.
    Do a Wikipedia on Vance and his views on geopolitics. He's on record saying that Ukraine should cede part of its country for "peace," but Israel shouldn't cede part of its country to the Palestinians for peace.
    Also, speaker Johnson demanded that the Ukraine ambassador should be fired because there were no Republicans invited to the tour of the Scranton PA ammunition manufacturing plant so its wax just an election "interference" on the part of Ukraine.
    So the handwriting is on the wall. If the Republicans win in November, INCLUDING Trump, the US will throw Ukraine to the Russian wolves. Personally, I don't like Harris, but I now loathe Trump and his minions because of his stance on Ukraine. Who the eff is Trump to tell another country that they should accept what another country tells them to do? Give your people & territory to another country just because they want all of it eventually?

    • @vinrusso821
      @vinrusso821 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Trump has NEVER said that. Vance has his own personal views. Zelensky was wrong in talking about US politics. Why would he do that? It can only hurt his bargaining power. Ukraine wants pre 1991 borders. Do you really think this will ever happen? Russia is making ground everyday in the most important south east front.

    • @anthonywilson4873
      @anthonywilson4873 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vinrusso821Not without six months of ammo they are not. Ukraine took more ground in Kursk in month than Russia has taken recently. I cannot say over two years because the Russians chased all the way to Kyiv to get their arse handed to them on a plate and chased all the way back to border regions. So Russia have lost a lot more ground since the start of the war. Russia is running out of men and equipment during these meat wave attacks. It is worth the Ukrainians letting the Russians waste their resources on the defences until they go on the offensive.

  • @almitrahopkins1873
    @almitrahopkins1873 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    The fourth part that General Hodges didn’t even touch on is purely political. Russia has been trying to negotiate peace with anyone but Ukraine. This Kursk operation put Ukraine back into the primary seat in any peace negotiations. The western allies didn’t stop the aid when Ukraine went into Russia, telling Russia in no uncertain terms that Russia has no choice but to negotiate with Ukraine.
    Russia wants to bargain with NATO to keep part of Ukraine. Ukraine holding parts of Kursk means Russia loses territory if the front lines are frozen like Putin wants.
    I’d like to see that Ukrainian-occupied territory expand both east and west so that the hold of territory in Ukraine becomes untenable. Cutting the supply lines into the Donbas will force mass surrender of Russian troops, especially if their only fallback is through Crimea.

    • @vinrusso821
      @vinrusso821 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It all sounds good. And I'm 100% for Ukraine. But the Kursk offensive was a waste of manpower and equipment. Russia is making gains in the south eastern front, which is the most important front. Ukraine should concentrate on stopping the tide there.

    The media are quick and were quick to expose every inch of land "won" by Russia. And they are / were very quick to call this a "loss" for Ukraine.
    But !
    Russia has lost thousands and thousands of soldiers to gain a derelict town.
    Ukraine is happy to be seen to lose a battle, when they know that it will lead to them winning the war :-)
    54 : 1 fav - UKR to win !
