AB… I’m a single father bro. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. You’re doing a good thing for people, teaching us how to make simple, affordable foods and teaching us how to even put a gourmet twist on it sometimes. Just told my daughters ima try to make some spaghetti tonight. They’re excited and yeah man…. Thank you brother.

Shout out to the single fathers! I was raised by one and oh boy, he made the SICKEST, MOST BOMB SPAGHETTI EVER. Your daughters are gonna love you to death for making this type of spaghetti. I'm actually here to watch this video because it's close to what my dad made. He's gone now but making this spaghetti will bring back some super fond memories. Take care of yourself for your family man, have a good one

AB...I'm half Sicilian and you are on point 100% brother. Don't change a thing folks. A 3 to 4 hr cook time and that little bit of sugar is key, like you smokin a pork butt. Low & Slow. Only thing I do different AB is, I throw in some bite size pieces of pork & Italian sausage. Keep these videos coming my man. Much Love & Respect all day!

Happy Sunday! I already have these ingredients on hand. My kids literally woke up asking for us to make spaghetti. I try to get them involved when I’m cooking from scratch. They are 3, 5, and 7. This will definitely be a level up for our family. Quality and patience!!

Almost the same as my Italian Mama's recipe. She only did beef but I like doing the sausage as well. She uses a can of tomato paste and we like mushrooms, so added a pound of fresh cremini. Add a cup of wine to the meat and let it cook off, gives a nice flavour.

Hey AB!! When I make Spaghetti for my family I usually put the pasta on the plate and scoop the meat on top accordingly. But when I store the leftover's I combine them both and put them in the fridge... Very similar to how I do it!! When I plate mine up I love to add grated cheese on top! Yummy!!! Even though most of the time I only have to cook for myself I still love to cook up a big large pot of it so I can have some for the next day that does taste even better and also I fill up a few containers to freeze ready for when I want spaghetti night! I like to have my first plate of it like the restaurants but with way more of the meat sauce on top and then add the rest of pasta I cooked up and mix it through and I also sometimes cook up garlic bread to go with it on the side especially if I'm cooking for others aswell!
I LOVE MY SPAGETTI BOLOGNAISE!!! 🤤😘❤
Thank you for sharing with us! Looks like it's spaghetti for me tonight!! 😃🍝

Thank you AB. While I despise green bell peppers I think if I pureed them in a food processor they would disappear into the sauce. Having said that... I do use chopped GBP's in marinades where I harvest some of the flavour without having to bite into the pepper. I am curious as to why you don't add onion to the recipe? Appreciate the detailed explanation of the cooking times to allow us home cooks to create a more authentic Italian ragu/gravy.

  • @murraylynn7631
    @murraylynn7631 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

That sauce looks delicious. Another way to level it up is, if you can find it, to add ground veal so you have ground beef, ground pork and ground veal in the sauce. Delicious.
As for the spaghetti in the sauce or the sauce on top question, I prefer to undercook my spaghetti just a bit so it is al dente. Then I heat up a skillet with a splash of olive oil and add 1 to 2 good spoons of sauce to the skillet and add the spaghetti in there to finish cooking, tossing it together. The starch on the pasta helps the sauce stick to it. Then, if I someone wants more sauce, we can add it on top.

Since your sauce has meat in it, you really should process it in the pressure cooker for safety before storing it in your pantry. If the sauce is canned without meat, it is fine to simply can it as you suggest. Your sauce looks great!

When I canned my apples and pear preserve, my mom taught me to make sure jars are clean. I never thought about putting up some of my own sauce in jars. Also, I m going to vacuum seal some of the sauce for the freezer too.

Looks great, delicious. My mom was Italian, so I'm used to ladling sauce onto cooked pasta, but I might just try it your way, as I like my pasta really coated with sauce.

    Chef,
I cook my pasta in water and shake garlic powder in.
Added flavor plus it makes the whole house smell great. At the end, I pour the noodles into a colander, drain and put them back into the pot. I add butter (To your taste), stir and put into a large bowl. Next I add some of the sauce. I like a lot of sauce but everyone in the family does not. We add on our own. My preference is thicker spaghetti. We all tend to like what we grew up with. It’s all great, just different than other families. You are incapable of creating a bad meal!
    I love you Sir!

Tip: start with some finely diced carrot and it will sweeten your sauce without the need for sugar.

Ripe picked canned tomatoes are already sweet, including that brand he used. you dont even need to sweeten them. Carrots in red sauce its just crazy unless is a Bolognese. WTF are 'muricans doing to Italian food 😆

I add carrots and mushrooms and sometimes I add red wine in my spaghetti sauce. I would love to add the zucchini. I may have to make fried zucchini sticks as a side dish because my husband is not fond of them.

We make our red sauces in a similar way -- instead of bell pepper, I like to use fennel because it tastes really Italian. I'll add some bell pepper for the next time I do this because I think it's a good idea!

I totally love spaghetti. I cook it in my mother's roast pan, drain it and then I mix in the sauce. I also love topping it with a can or two of mixed vegetables. That dish looks fantastic AB. Beautifully done my brother. ✌️🍽️

My old g make it like that. That's how I make it. Flavor beyond flavor. I make meatballs and still have the ground beef Italian sausage fusion and it's a winner. With some over the top Garlic bread. Salud my dude
