Great job catching the many details which make KZ unique. Yes, KZ has a “presence” about her that is different. But what separates her from others is her “stage persona AND KZ style.”

The defining KZ moment was her appearance on the "Singer 18" when she covered Adele's classic "Rolling in the Deep". She definitely shows more physicality than other Filipinas. She also doesn't impress with the money notes rather relying more on an over all entertainment quality. Katrina Velarde should be next on your Asian journey.

KZ is a very short lady so she wears really high shoes.
She used to be a belter but had a surgery for vocal nodules back in high school. She did not give up her love for music and explored different genres to excel at. She is also a songwriter and does a lot of arrangements on her covers.

KZ had surgery for vocal polyps as a teenager. It was a success, but she lost the higher notes that she used to be able to hit. Or she was told she risked further polyps and damage if she sang too high. I've read both comments. So, she adjusted and sings in lower keys. She's also very tiny, probably about 4' 9" or 4' 10", so she tends to wear shoes with big heels. She got her big break when she won the X Factor Philippines in 2012. Her audition was crazy good.
Pls try her mandarin version the hurt youll never knew and see you again. Mandarin is not her language however she wants to reach out to her audience in China.
