I've been on Rover for only a month and already have 10 clients, three repeats. All five-star reviews too. Everyone is traveling for summer and fall so I've been busy with boarding and walking. Glad to see other Rovers hustlin'.
Wow girl! I just signed up for Rover a couple days ago and already have 2 bookings! I’m excited to see how much I can make in additional income each month.
Have you bought any insurance too? I have started it like 6 weeks back and got insurance. Not had anyone yet but I lowered my price slightly and now may have 5 or 6 different dogs soon so can hopefully take it full time :)
@@Jamiesadventuresandtravel Hi there! I haven’t gotten any other insurance yet. Just seeing how things go first. One tip I would give is definitely start out with a lower price than other people in your area when just beginning. Good luck!
@@Erin.McCray thanks! I have put my price slightly lower and had a few people interested lately :) I do recommend a different insurance as reading about Rover insurance it's not that good for us walkers

HOW DID YOU GET THAT MANY BOOKINGS????! I'm busting tail trying to get new clients. I've made that same amount in the 7 months I've been on Rover.. wow. Super impressive!
Sounds like you were extremely busy. I don't know what part of the country you're in but that plays a big part in how much you make. I am in the Houston, Texas area. I was one of the first people to work with Rover in Texas back in 2013. Now everyone and their brother are doing it and that has cut into the money I make but it does feel good knowing there are others making good money with Rover. I work my butt off but it's well worth it. I have made some good friends along the way. Good luck to you!

I advertise on social and Nextdoor app but need the opportunity to sit more but need the books and am not getting them from Rover. Any suggestions?
In one month? She must be having all the houses be door to door with no drive time in between and booked one after the other all the way down a couple streets. Don’t know how that is possible unless two whole streets are on vacation at same time and is not picky about when the dog is walked or dropped in on. And she would need to do this same thing everyday but in another spot
We have a new record of 15k now! My husband and I do it full-time together and we have a house with a big backyard in the midst of apartments in a very popular airport neighborhood with people who just love love love their dogs! Because of the backyard and two people working instead of one full-time, we are able to charge more also. Most of our daycare clients work from home but they bring their dogs to our daycare just so they can get socialization :) And many of our boarding clients travel for work often so that come here almost on a weekly basis. Totally doable! Not two streets, we have a 5 mile radius, so hopefully that addresses your statement. Furthermore, we have a very loyal base of customers. People have changed their vacation plans just so it aligns with our vacation days because they trust us more than another person for their high anxiety dogs. I believe in you! If you have any questions, pls let me know!
Gigi, CONGRATS on your success! 🎉 we're considering Rover and Wag in The Woodlands north of Houston Texas. We'd love more details or tips about starting up.
I applied on Feb/27/22 and background check is still pending. Is this timeline normal? I have follow up with Rover and I don't get a clear response of why, just to wait. Did it took this long for anyone else?

totally! Try Shipt! :) I did that for a little big when i was inbetween jobs during grad school! doesnt require reviews per se. to be successful in it, just have an open schedule and actually follow through with it. the algorithms will give you more expensive shopping trips if you complete them in your schedule!
I personally charge 30 for a walk but I don’t really do walks. I mostly do drop ins, daycare and boarding. Rover takes our 15% for all bookings. But for good reason! :) rover provided a lot of assurance because of their Rover Guarantee Insurance I hope that helps!
@@user-jn7so8eh7v Oh man! That totally sucks. I actually read somewhere on the forum that Rover took 20% after profiles made in 2018. But mine was made up for 2018 and they only take 15 so far. So it really confused me. maybe we will be 20 soon too. I’m not sure
I’m in California! But even different cities vary in pay. I’ve checked all over whenever I’m in a new city! Haha If your city doesn’t pay as much but if you’re open to commuting for drop in s or walks in more expensive areas, it’ll be worth it! Might need to work a few months to gain some traction and you can start lining up clients back to back so longer drives are more time efficient. I find that people who are working eight hour jobs, are open to having flexibility in the time of your drop ins . So if they request a 12 PM drop in, ask if you can do 1 PM instead because you might already have a 12 PM lined up a few blocks over ;)
@@trinil0verboy that is perfect! I went to visit New York last month and made a comment about starting the business there as well. Of course as a joke to my husband because we saw so many dogs. Honestly I don’t know how to answer that because I don’t live in NY haha but what I suggest doing is going on the rover app and seeing what your neighbors are charging and going from there! :) That is how I got started and it really helped me build my customer base. I had zero reviews but now I am one of the highest reviewed sitters in my city because of that. Look at what your neighbors are charging, write a great bio and charge $5 to $10 less to start with :)
To start, you don’t :) But you will learn a lot of life skills and soft skills as you go.
