Oh the accuracy! I’m a premenopausal amateur ceramicist in a fleece vest giving away my shitty pieces to family members. 😂😂 I feel so represented😂😂
I've wanted to start forever. I'm gonna be middle aged before I get the time
‘It started off as the Virgin Mary with child’
‘And what is it now?’
‘A bowl’
Amazing.
These two are really coming to their own as stars of the show and I love it. This gives me the vibe of an old Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon sketch.
I was thinking the same
I think that's what they were trying for. Except no one was trying to make the other break
Whiskers 'R We!!!
@@LiliLawless yes!
I like them both, and they're better actresses, but they're not even close as funny as those two, and can't bounce from each other as well. also, they're inherently hot, doesn't help
It never looks dirty because it never looks clean.
That's what i told my mom about my room 😂😅
😂😂😂 Nice one.
As a ceramicist who teaches adult and kid lessons… these pots look good compared to some of the work I’ve seen
Takes me back to the '90s when I took pottery classes at our town's community center. I had three teenagers, a house, a husband, and a full-time job. Pottery class on Saturday morning was my therapy.
As a fellow Mud-slinger (our nickname in the UK) and teacher, I must agree with you 😂
I want that mug !! 😃😅
Somebody had a lot of fun throwing those last pots ! Great work if they had never been on a wheel before !
( I do believe I have made some vaginas in my time..)
😱😆😆😆
You must be a bad teacher then
^^^ *Disgruntled person who made a pot at school that looked like a turd, and blames the teacher*
The "bar" for art has lowered so far, that this rings true. Ever been to a hippie fair?
Emma has a terrific way of enunciation and diction expression. Such a finesse actress.
And she's hot. Don't forget that.
Yes, especially when she said, "sharted out as the Virgin Mary with child" 😂
You know a sketch has tanked when a top comment is focused on enunciation.
Finesse is a noun, not an adjective
She has a speech impediment. And you have a very loose grasp on how words work.
Damn, this is accurate in every aspect, but especially the tone. Ceramicists are a unique breed. Someone needs to write that macho man bun glass blower sketch
lol yesss!
Should have done that when Jason Momoa hosted. Oh, well. Next time...
I would love to know what prompted this sketch. It feels so specific. Like they KNOW these women.
All 3 crushed this.
As someone who has recently started taking pottery classes, I am looking forward to my family members' reactions when receiving my "very creative" bowls for Christmas LOL
you mean **finger basins**
"Merry Christmas Mom, it's your vagina . . . "
I was at a vermont makers market yesterday and I can confirm everything about this skit is accurate.
Where in Vermont?
@@CreativeC13 Just google it. Jesus.
Your husband's wedding band was such an underrated joke.
As a potter, it was nice to see this! Every student makes all kinds of "pots" the first year, thinking they will give them as presents. All the recipients have that reaction! I didn't give away anything until my third year, when I could actually make a bowl! Made everyone in the extended family a set of 3 nesting mixing bowls. When my mother passed, I was going to take her set as I never made one for myself. Her husband would not give them up! I let him keep them, he loves them and uses them like she did!
D'aw! I'm sorty you lost your mom, and I hope you eventually get a chance to make yourself a set.
Sorry about your mom, but glad to see that you’re not bragging about your own work while slashing other people for gifting their pottery when they wanted to….. 🤨
You tell 'em.
Bless your little heart
When you're learning, what do you do with all the crappy stuff you initially make? You can't melt it back down right? Do you just toss it all?
This gave me flashbacks of the spoon holder I made for my mom in Kindergarten. It was lumpy & dung -colored but she used it until I was in college..
Emma Stone is kiln it hosting SNL for the fifth time. Well deserved! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
😂
I see what you did there.👍
Whether it's hyperbolic or not, this was the perfect sPOT to say it
Yas Queen, clay!!!
Her work deserves all the glaze!
"We had to wrangle a 'possum out of the compost." Brilliant!😆🤣😂 Really great work from all cast here!
As the parent of a 4th grader who takes an after school pottery class, I approve this sketch.
OMG The irony.... I tried my hand at pottery a few years ago and I swear to you, I had designed that exact "mug" I kid you not!... When she pulled it out, I died. It had the exact same shade of pink color - the handle was in the shape of the exact same wavy piece of clay shaped with your hand and just stuck onto the side.... I needed that today. 💀
Oh, and it was also heavy as a brick. Wow. lol
"Is that a replica of your vagina?" I was NOT expecting this response 😭💀
Jfc you’re still making comments about not expecting things no one in their right mind would think about commenting. Tf is wrong with you?
@@cwg73160 Are you okay? You doing good? I'm worried 😬
“People want pottery made by a pre menopausal lady wearing a fleece vest”. So true!
Unless you’ve done pottery, it’s hard to grasp how relatable this is. Glad I’ve graduated to intermediate level 😂
Heidi’s character work is to die for.
3:30 exactly four coins being in the foyer bowl is so accurate
I'm so glad pretty much everyone in the cast had a chance to do something tonight! Great use of the ensemble for the first time in a few years.
"husband's wedding band" as an item in the list of things in the foyer bowl is WILD
Lol that went right over the audience's head!!
As an "amateur potter," I can sure relate!
I made a vase in high school. After less than a year of practice, it actually turned out really well. It had a wide form, then tapered dramatically towards the opening with a very fine and delicate spout. So delicate in fact that someone chipped it while it was drying. In my effort to sand away the chip, I ended up removing the entire spout, so now the spout is just a nub. My mom still keeps it on her shelf with some decorative flowers poking out.
Ya can’t make this stuff up❤❤❤❤😂😂
I currently have a box of bowls that I made in ceramics class 25 years ago… It’s sitting in my garage because my mom finally wanted to get it out of her house. This skit hits home. 😂
this feels comforting and i want to be here
Emma Stone so hard not to break! Hilarious!
That mug is almost identical to the one thing I ever made with a kiln and I feel so seen
“Had to wrestle a possum out of the compost” is the unsung hero of this sketch
That pink mug is awesome.
When it started, I instantly felt like it was a new take on the "Delicious Dish" idea, just PBS or TH-cam instead of NPR. And with that cast, I was all there for it!
I absolutely loved this sketch, and it reminds of when my mother got into pottery about that age, as part of her "craft of the year" phase.
Yep love to see if they can put this together and work with that
I had the exact same thought. Felt very...Sweddy.
If this skit was done a year or two ago, we all know who those two would be played by lol
Yep!
Heidi Gardner is Janice from The Electric Mayhem. You can really see it in this skit. SNL did that skit "Oscar" based on Joker. So they really need to do something with Heidi as Janice.
For suuuuuuurrrreee
These ladies are kiln it!
As a ceramics teacher this is hilarious!!! So spot on
My husband’s wedding ring…
I love the subtle little jokes
50 years ago we made such to give to parents for Christmas...mostly ashtrays so mom could smoke right next to us!
That is so true 😂
😂😂😂
Who else likes doing lousy pottery in a silk robe? 👘🙌
I still have my grammar school finger bowl…it holds polished pebbles.
I want to know how they did this - did they plan the sketch with enough time to dry and fire the pottery for this? Did they just go to a local pottery school and go through the dumpster? Or did one of the writers have a family member in a pottery school and these are actual gifts?
As Aunty Donna taught us, “Don’t get in the kiln”
"I said DON'T get in the kiln!!"
But what if all my friends are in the kiln?
All I heard was "get in the kiln."
But what if you need to check what’s in the kiln?
As a recently retired premenopausal woman that wears fleece vests and does mediocre pottery, my life is now fully validated :) @misskittenpottery
Ditto!
Market for your work CONFIRMED! 👍
"Women's Creek, Vermont" was the highlight here
" I see it now" and "Where do you get a photo of that" but lines in my book.b
Reminds me of the great line recited by Leslie Jones: "bowls bowls all types of bowls...".
Chloe Fineman is going to be HUGE. I hope she has amazing management-- so deserving of fame/success.
Apparently she has a role in Francis Ford Coppola’s new movie.
Chloe and Heidi escaped into their characters in this one! I believe them to be real people lol
Totally. I was like "woah!"
Heidi almost felt more Alison Janney, then when she played Alison Janney.
I have a friend who looks just like Emma in this skit who took her pottery classes so seriously. And she had zero talent but spent 1000’s of dollars trying. These days she doesn’t even mention she ever took the classes.
Carabiner-West drives a Subraru and lives 2 blocks from me in Ballard.
In college, I would wander over to the art school when students were selling their items. This skit brought back some fond memories.
I still drink my coffee from a mug that looks like someone's failed experiment; hard to clean, but oh so satisfying.
Reminds me of the Whiskers R We sketches.
This is so kate mckinnon aidy bryant sketch coded
The pre-menopausal deep-voice accent is EVERYTHING 😂
I love how Heidi says "Dream" when she clearly can't see it
She saw it in the monitor. 😉
I see that Chloe Fineman is working on her Kari Lake impression, and she's nailing it.
Kari will be trumps vp. :-)
@@GUITARTIME2024 You forgot that Trump doesn't like losers.
T wants someone who will blend into the back ground … plus, he doesn’t like women that he perceives as loud or bossy - and it doesn’t take much for him to think that!
@@GUITARTIME2024 trump will be in prison
@cleverusername9369 not a trump guy, but that's quite unlikely. He'll be reelected.
Every art school critique ever…😂
i love these ladies
This was frighteningly accurate haha. These two are hilarious.
Am I the only one who thinks that first cup looks cool? I like rustic and DIY stuff, so I actually find it kind of charming.
I kind of like it too. Modern art vibe. So ugly it’s funky.
Very Katie Stout
Many post-menopausal women do pottery too (wish they'd done more with this).
This sketch just got better as it went along 😂
Chloe and Heidi are in their snl prime 👏
"oh, just Google" lol
This feel like a kate mckinnon ,and aidy bryant sketch .
It would have to be funny to feel like that..
Reminiscent of Whiskers 'R We
It wasn't as good as 'sweaty balls', but as a beginning ceramicist, I found it hilarious.
This was so funny. My husband also laughed. I have definitely made that mug. I love that she remarks on how heavy it is.😂😂😂 I've been at it for over three the improvement is amazing. No more paper weight mugs.😂
Heidi and Chloe are really channeling Kate and Aidy here
WOW! I literally made the second piece in 4th grade 😂
They still have not come apart!
OMG you hit the nail on the head. I thought someone made a documentary of my pottery class.
Ceramics majors everywhere have an aneurism when they watch this bit.
“Whiskers are We” LIVES!!!
We want to thank Seth Rogen for so graciously lending his art for this sketch. 🙏🏼
Loved the skit, the pots looked like some l used to make out of mud.
Anyone else get an awesome Laverne and Shirley vibe from these two? More!
heidi looked exactly like my ceramics teacher in high school
The women of SNL absolutely kill! MVP status, all of them!
I’m a fuse glass artist, but this still made me feel seen.
This show is absolutely amazing of how mental it is😂
they're so supportive!
Emma stone is having fun tonight.
The mug is like a melted Mr. Bill.
Emma Stone is flawless.
"My father buys almost all of my work."
I love this. It's Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon-esque type of energy
that'll teach me to forward things to the family chat before finishing the video lmao
“I dont wanna be too forward but is that…” 😂😂😂
When she said "Glans," I almost spit out my coffee. It put me into a laugh attack. 😂😂
Heidi doing a great Lily Tomlin impression here.
Yes, it’s absolutely perfection - so Frankie
Oh wow yh, uncanny!
Premenopausal arts 😂
Always love the new generations spins on the classic Delicious Dish skits
Cody Carabiner-West reminds me of this girl who lived in my building until she was struck by falling ice.
Okay I kind of love the mug actually lmao
Okay I'm not going to lie, I almost fell asleep watching this
so easy to tell you're a guy. and an insecure one at that
Seriously.... I've never understood SNL's "look at the goofy normal people huh huh" punchdown humor. It's very boring and stupid, idk, maybe rich people like it.
@@aickyeh, plenty of bad taste to go around. It fills the gap where there should be actual humor.
"glans!" LOL
This applies to other crafts as well. My brother-in-law in the 90's was an amateur "blacksmith" who gave us metalwork made with about the same amount of skill.
This reminds me of some of the stuff I made in summer camp LOL
OMG 😜 " It never looks dirty because it never looks clean". THAT will live in my brain for the rest of my life for free.
as someone with a degree in ceramics...i am dying!
I love Emma stone
