My husband is dying I have been watching him waist away for ten years now and when everything has finished and been settled and all his debts paid off I hope to a little left over to go to England to see my last remaining Uncle and cousins. The gap in the engine is due to reverse thrust. Basically it reverses thrust to slow down the aircraft, and because the engine is creating large amounts of thrust in such a large quantity it splits so that airflow can cool down the engine.
