Apple Music was definitely pandering here because ranking those Beyoncé albums & Taylor Swift so high just comes off as not wanting to make the fan bases mad.
Beyonce self titled changed the way music is dropped and marketed. Lemonade was a cultural influential album during the blm movement. I dont know about Taylor tho.
Lemonade was all about performative activism, and I'm glad it's over. Imagine thinking that"i just might be a black bill gates in the making." is helpfull. The album aged badly and it's barely doing 500k streams. Self-titled still remains her most influential album.
@leenabraham9217 that was just one song. The whole album concept was about infidelity and forgiveness in marriage. And regarding streams, it was not made available on any other streaming service other than tidal. When it was by then hen it was already seasoned.
It should be called the best AMERICAN AND BRITISH albums of all time. What about the Brazilian legend Chico Buarque in which even Madonna has bowed down to? What about Celine Dion? What about Italian, German, Japanese, Latin artists? It's unbelievable how ignorant people in the US can be. Popularity is very different from quality.
It's not really about British music either, it's an American list that includes some British music that is popular in the US. If it was a British list, there would most definitely be some girl groups and boy bands on it.
I feel like it's there to not upset the Swifties and it's Taylor's Version because it's the version that she owns and is going to promote and advertise in the future
Christina Aguilera- Stripped was definitely snubbed. It was a revolutionary album for pop stars. A lot of pop stars have been following her standard with that album. The good girl gone bad type aesthetic. 3 bubblegum pop records then a rebel era. She revolutionised it. The album itself was diverse and had no skips. Loving Me 4 Me , Infatuation, Dirrty , Make Over and Can’t Hold Us Down showed us that she can explore many genres…
10 albums to name a few... Rick James-Street Songs Bill Withers- Just As I am Alicia Keys-The Diary of Alicia Keys Queens of the Stone Age-Songs for the Deaf Common- Like Water for Chocolate Garth Brooks- No Fences Tatsuro Yamashita-For You Jill Scott-Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1 Wicked-Original Broadway Cast (2003)-Wicked Massive Attack-Mezzanine
I wish that Queen was on the list, especially with their "A Night at the Opera" album. It's a great example of their bombastic and theatrical rock sound. The list includes David Bowie, so why not Queen?
As a die-hard Switftie, I don't understand how 1989 (Taylor's Version) was the album chosen to be on this list, yes it's a great pop album but in terms of music, Red (Taylor's Version) or Folklore should've been in place instead and I think most people would agree with that. Folklore doesn't need any justifications, but Red (Taylor's Version) is absolutely magnificent and the vault songs are some of my absolute favourites, Forever Winter, Better Man and ATW10MV are amazing songs.
I agree I love 1989 to death but it's nowhere close to her best album in my opinion it is either Evermore or Folklore (I'd say Evermore has better songs but Folklore is a better album as a body of work)
@trevorperry11 What? Her first album had 4 #1s, and all the songs on there were great. Daydream had 3, and it literally told a story. You full of it...
CrazySexyCool, Daydream, Emancipation of Mimi, An Evening with Silk Sonic are just a few snubs that didn't sit well with me. Also notice Midnights didn't make it but SOS did.
I love sos but I'll admit it's not top 100 albums of all time. Didn't change anything and it hasn't been long enough to gage it's impact. Midnights was a mid album don't compare them
Hi, 80s baby here! I used to follow these lists religiously growing up in the 90s and 00s, until I realised that they're completely randomly chosen, and staff decide they'll choose a handful of contemporary 'great' albums to try and give their lists validity. There are so many brilliant albums from the 90s and 00s that I've never seen on any of these lists coming out now! They were only included because they wanted to be 'cool' back then, and then a few years later they immediately dropped them.
a big problem i have with the album is it's lack of diversity. How could they skip African, Asian, Pacific and even european (good representation for the U.K tho) music. This list covers such a limited scope of recorded albums. They could've at least included world classics like Fela Kuti
How can they make a best album list and not include these. Crazy, Sexy, Cool - TLC Stankonia - OutKast Come On Over - Shania Twain Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park Ray of Light - Madonna Diary - Alicia Keys Off The Wall - Michael Jackson Too Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar That’s The Way of The World - Earth, Wind & Fire Teenage Dream - Katy Perry Rhythm Nation - Janet Jackson The Velvet Rope - Janet Jackson Graduation - Kanye West Daydream - Mariah Carey Butterfly - Mariah Carey
As an elder millennial (i turn 39 Sept. 11th, tomorrow) the impact Jagged Little Pill had when it was released was wild, everyone was obsessed. it was the second CD i ever bought (1st being Dookie, Green Day) - i’m honestly surprised it’s not higher edit: just finished video and i am happy with the top pic i remember when that album came out, the hype
As a Mariah fan, I would say Butterfly could be on it but for the rest I don’t really see any other albums that are outstanding enough. Her singles are fantastic but albums, mwah
6:33 omg LOUDER for the people in the back, love Taylor but Fearless is much more interesting of a re-record because of the noticeable change in her voice
1989 shot Taylor to superstardom when it came out and had tons of hits. I think it’s still her biggest album to date. I do think they put Taylor’s Version instead of the original to show support for the re-recordings but are definitely referencing the popularity and impact of the original.
You are absolutely right about MJ and Thriller. Best selling≠ best period I think Beyoncé definitely has a top 10 of all time worthy album. I think Lemonade is a good placement considering how cohesive, impactful and socially sound that album is. The music, vocals, emotion, and story telling are top tier. Blond is NOT better than lemonade or any of the albums it’s ahead of on the top 10.
miseducation at n1 is a huuuuuge win despite how shit the rest of the list may be. lauryn changed the game and no matter how late she is to shows or how often she forgets to pay her damn taxes i'll always love this masterpiece like no other.
even tho it's not the most lyrically advanced album, Teenage Dream should definitely be up here. Nearly every song was a #1 hit and the variety of music videos and live performances makes it a legendary album. Katy Perry ran the 2010s!
RIGHT like omg 😭 I do like Taylor Swift’s old stuff (specifically evermore & folklore … I will never shut up about those albums). But 1989 ?!? No. I also don’t think top 20 is deserving either, probably in the 50s or 60s.
Not a swiftie, but 1989 definately deserves a top 20 spot for sure. I mean welcome to new york, wildest dreams, new romantics... i do agree with the fact that they clearly put taylor's version instead of the original just to not make the swifties mad, because the taylor's versions is for sure a downgrade.
@@ajasdeathdrop1556Folklore is better than 1989 and its still not a top 100. We gotta be honest here. Taylor is not a top tier artist. She just doesn't have it. And watch how Swifties will reply saying "Oh she is the most earning artist of today " or "She is the MJ of this generation ". Cause for them Popular means good
@@yummiburritobowlI definitely think folklore should’ve been on the list. 1989 is personally one of my least liked albums by Taylor. But hey music is subjective
Personally, I think Madonna deserved to be a little higher in that top-100. And the lack of Whitney's albums, Queen and ABBA was rather disappointing. But overall it's great to see more modern artists in lists like that, although sometimes placing some of them above iconic classics is a bit weird 😅
Emancipation Of Mimi, Future Nostalgia, Melodrama, Folklore, September Of My Years, To Pimp A Butterfly, Renaissance, Teenage Dream(having 1989 in top 20 over this?), Eternal Sunshine.... The list goes on and on. Like there are so many albums that don't even deserve to be in top200.
Thank you for putting respect on Fearless TV! Her best and most underrated rerecording but agree that 1989 TV shouldn't be that high. I do agree that most of these rankings aren't good
Aaliyah self titled was snubbed as well as George Michael's Patience album & Older album & Madonna's Confession On The Dancefloor. I feel like George Michael's Listen W/ Out Prejudice should've been higher. Also Britney Spears , Ariana Grande , and Mariah Carey deserved a place on this list as well as Brandy w/ albums such as Full Moon & Afrodisiac. I think that The Carpenters , Sam Cooke , Frank Sinatra & Donna Summer were snubbed as well because they've had good albums. I usually don't really care for these Best Albums Of All Time List because I see it as just other people's opinions on music but since Honest made a video on it & it was everywhere on my social media I thought I'd share my thoughts.
Yes thank you Donna summer was snubbed and no one is talking about it!!!! The fact that there's no classic disco on the list is nuts, it's been hugely influential
Personally I do think Anti is her best album, but none of her albums are good enough to be on a top 100 albums list. I also hate how people always overrate Anti but ignore Rated R, which is just as interesting and also good in its own right
Sade at 61 and two Beyonce albums above her is literally beyond a joke. I also think it's ridiculous they didn't include a single disco album - Donna summer, chic, sister sledge all could've qualified.
The fact that Mariah and Whitney were not on this list makes me question its validity. I also don't think that Laruyn hill should be number one even though Miseduation is an amazing album, Thriller will always be better.
i dont think the list is that bad but i think some popular artist especially of today (cough cough taylor swift) were added so the younger generation finds the list more relatable even though they had absolutely no business being there
I wonder if part of the reason MIchael Jackson's Off The Wall is kept off the lists is because of the stigma you mentioned about "disco" albums & these list creators not wanting to include anything they consider "disco" They might consider Off The Wall to be a disco album & though it has some great dance songs including Rock With You & Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough it really is a shame if honoring that album is avoided because of it being considered a disco album, not being Bad or Thriller or any other reason. I agree that Off The Wall is a great album & deserves way more recognition than it gets!

I feel like some artists only got higher placements on the list because they were being compared to contemporaries based on time such as modern acts on the list, Adele, Billie, Frank Ocean, most Taylor swift albums especially 1989 (I would understand the placement if it were Red, Folklore, or Fearless I’m sorry but 1989 is just when guys and critics decided women and Taylor swift exist), Kacy Musgraves, and Travis Scott made the list in certain placements. I don’t think Beyoncé if all people deserved two spots on the list given the people and albums cut. Actually I don’t think anyone here deserved to have a secondary album, the secondary albums could’ve easily gone to Dolly Parton, Fiona Apple, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey, who all deserved spots on this list
@@bousie5876 i mean I respect your opinion, but 1989 is way more influential. Nobody nowadays knows who Katy Perry is, much less Teenage Dream, whereas 1989 is still talked about today, pioneered a lot of sounds in 2010s pop, and many younger musicians cite it as an influence
1989 Deluxe (original version) it’s a great pop album. Now the re-recorded Taylor Version, don’t think so… there are so many issues production wise going on and major engineering issues that for an artist of Taylor’s level are very questionable. You can find all over the Internet people discussing or complaining about certain noises and high pitched sounds that bothered or hurt some people. (they kinda fixed weeks later by lowering them a bit but they are still there). Putting it so high just speaks on how much favoritism there is nowadays towards Taylor and the lack of objectivity that is being projected in this list.
1989 TV really wasnt as bad as people where making it out to be in all reality. Style was honestly the worst effort on the project. Although you are correct somethings did change on the digital versions about 2 weeks after release
What a joke, you can see the list is focusing on commercial and mediocre releases. Where is: Nightwish - Human Nature, Once, etc. Highly reacted by vocal coaches to classical enthusiasts. Even though this is Symphonic Metal band it is highly technical and creative, it is snubbed. Where is Iron Maiden - 7th Son Of A 7th Son or Somewhere In Time, etc. Well composed and impressive melodic guitaring with impressive chord changes. You begin to see a pattern, as Metal is discriminated. Screw the mainstream.
Hi Honest Can we get a Eternal Sunshine review please & a video on George Michael and his impact on the music industry similar to a documentary & a video on Prince & his impact as well. 😁
All your takes are great, except the Bowie one. Ziggy stardust isn’t just great music but it also help shift the whole music industry. I feel like acknowledging the fact that this album helped pioneer the concept album (Antichrist superstar by Marilyn Manson and The Black Parade by My Chem wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for ziggy stardust) would make you understand it’s importance to music as a whole

massive attack, robyn, and daft punk getting a spot works for me this is mostly because i'm a fleetwood mac fan, but their 1987 album tango in the night could've been in the 90-100 spots

The way I was in agreement until 1989, the original album had a chokehold on 2014/2015 so influential. I hear the point on the re-recording and was probably a political choice but i do feel like it’s the best Taylor’s version anyway

having a bad bunny's album as the best of latin is sick
Yesss i hoped at least one AALIYAH album would show
Her 2nd and 3rd albums are both good enough to have made the list, and dare I say within the top 70
her selftitled is STILL heat
@@chronicstoicist yupp its my favourite from her, and her best in my opinion
Apple Music was definitely pandering here because ranking those Beyoncé albums & Taylor Swift so high just comes off as not wanting to make the fan bases mad.
Beyonce self titled changed the way music is dropped and marketed. Lemonade was a cultural influential album during the blm movement. I dont know about Taylor tho.
@@tomhawks111 lol tellem
Agreed but beyonce deserves to be on the list. Maybe lower but those albums had a massive impact
Yeah it's pretty much best English language albums, they could've been more clear
I agree! But i think it would have made Apple work that much harder to narrow down to just 100. Definite region bias.
It's not really about British music either, it's an American list that includes some British music that is popular in the US. If it was a British list, there would most definitely be some girl groups and boy bands on it.
@@perfectallycromulent I don't think you understand my point. Read it again.
I thought the same thing!
I’m sorry but Taylor’s album just sticks out like a SORE THUMB
Why she’s even there
1989 TV is not even the best version of that album lol 😂. How much did the PR team pay for this?
I feel like it's there to not upset the Swifties and it's Taylor's Version because it's the version that she owns and is going to promote and advertise in the future
bc it is a Taylor Swift album in 2024.
@@MoMo-rx4zr don't really know why people don't like TV version of album, it doesn't really sound any different

there are so many bands there. are you looking for bts lmao
Rick James-Street Songs
Bill Withers- Just As I am
Alicia Keys-The Diary of Alicia Keys
Queens of the Stone Age-Songs for the Deaf
Common- Like Water for Chocolate
Garth Brooks- No Fences
Tatsuro Yamashita-For You
Jill Scott-Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1
Wicked-Original Broadway Cast (2003)-Wicked
Massive Attack-Mezzanine
I love that Bill Withers album, and I was hoping it'd make it, preferably around the top 60
Oooo Garth brook-fences should’ve been on the list!!!!
Songs for the deaf is a 10/10 how was this not on there ???
Agree with most. Not Alicia keys. She's not even a good singer in terms of technicality.
Emancipation of Mimi should have been here..and at least top 30…
butterfly or daydream for me
Daydream
Her debut album is also perfect
BUTTERFLY had it all. It felt personal and poignant. Ugh. So grateful for that album.

Or brandy
Idk I find her music is boring
I wish that Queen was on the list, especially with their "A Night at the Opera" album. It's a great example of their bombastic and theatrical rock sound. The list includes David Bowie, so why not Queen?
It's a US-biased list, Bowie is much more popular in the US than Queen.
I completely agree! Those are the two albums that came to mind for me, too!!
I agree I love 1989 to death but it's nowhere close to her best album in my opinion it is either Evermore or Folklore (I'd say Evermore has better songs but Folklore is a better album as a body of work)
Agreed
@@ChristianTTPD i'd say it's her third or fourth best but that's me

Easily Daydream or butterfly by Mariah Carey. Also, no Whitney????

CrazySexyCool, Daydream, Emancipation of Mimi, An Evening with Silk Sonic are just a few snubs that didn't sit well with me.

@rue9505 TRASH
They could've at least included world classics like Fela Kuti
having no girl groups is not a good representation of UK music. no Spice Girls means this is a very American list.
Can’t believe they didn’t add teenage dream by Katy Perry, aka one of the best pop albums ever made
Not having TPAB, Fiona Apple, and also Off the Wall is WAY BETTER that Thriller
How can they make a best album list and not include these.
Crazy, Sexy, Cool - TLC
Stankonia - OutKast
Come On Over - Shania Twain
Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park
Ray of Light - Madonna
Diary - Alicia Keys
Off The Wall - Michael Jackson
Too Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar
That’s The Way of The World - Earth, Wind & Fire
Teenage Dream - Katy Perry
Rhythm Nation - Janet Jackson
The Velvet Rope - Janet Jackson
Graduation - Kanye West
Daydream - Mariah Carey
Butterfly - Mariah Carey
These albums you listed are better than half of this list.
As an elder millennial (i turn 39 Sept. 11th, tomorrow) the impact Jagged Little Pill had when it was released was wild, everyone was obsessed. it was the second CD i ever bought (1st being Dookie, Green Day) - i’m honestly surprised it’s not higher
edit: just finished video and i am happy with the top pic i remember when that album came out, the hype
I was shocked that there was no Mariah and only 1 country album made this list. I love Kacey Musgraves but Shania Twain walked so she could run.
As a Mariah fan, I would say Butterfly could be on it but for the rest I don’t really see any other albums that are outstanding enough. Her singles are fantastic but albums, mwah

Very true about girl bands.
“THE WRITINGS ON THE WALL” is a historic album from the 90’s as was “Crazy Sexy Cool”
6:33 omg LOUDER for the people in the back, love Taylor but Fearless is much more interesting of a re-record because of the noticeable change in her voice
Agreed
1989 shot Taylor to superstardom when it came out and had tons of hits. I think it’s still her biggest album to date. I do think they put Taylor’s Version instead of the original to show support for the re-recordings but are definitely referencing the popularity and impact of the original.
lorde’s pure heroine being 96 is crazy to me, that album had so much influence on todays pop girlies 😳 and the albums great
You are absolutely right about MJ and Thriller. Best selling≠ best period
I think Beyoncé definitely has a top 10 of all time worthy album. I think Lemonade is a good placement considering how cohesive, impactful and socially sound that album is. The music, vocals, emotion, and story telling are top tier.
Blond is NOT better than lemonade or any of the albums it’s ahead of on the top 10.
Blond has greater longevity compared to lemonade imo but neither should be top 5
miseducation at n1 is a huuuuuge win despite how shit the rest of the list may be. lauryn changed the game and no matter how late she is to shows or how often she forgets to pay her damn taxes i'll always love this masterpiece like no other.
WHERE WAS MARIAH, BRITNEY, UH ETC LIKE COME ON NOW

even tho it's not the most lyrically advanced album, Teenage Dream should definitely be up here. Nearly every song was a #1 hit and the variety of music videos and live performances makes it a legendary album. Katy Perry ran the 2010s!
THANK YOU on Taylor Swift’s opinion!!!
Personally, I think Madonna deserved to be a little higher in that top-100. And the lack of Whitney's albums, Queen and ABBA was rather disappointing. But overall it's great to see more modern artists in lists like that, although sometimes placing some of them above iconic classics is a bit weird 😅

Thank you for putting respect on Fearless TV! Her best and most underrated rerecording but agree that 1989 TV shouldn't be that high. I do agree that most of these rankings aren't good
The emancipation of Mimi and butterfly deserved to be on this list
Renaissance really deserves its flowers, but a lot of people don’t give it what it deserves bc of “recency bias”
Agree with you on Micheal Jackson, off the wall is more cohesive as a whole album, thriller is phenomenal though but the singles carry the album
Rhi-Rhi has had better albums that should have been on here instead of "Anti".
Personally I do think Anti is her best album, but none of her albums are good enough to be on a top 100 albums list.
I also hate how people always overrate Anti but ignore Rated R, which is just as interesting and also good in its own right
@@chillbro5145 Rihanna is more of a single songs artist not and album artist
Sade at 61 and two Beyonce albums above her is literally beyond a joke. I also think it's ridiculous they didn't include a single disco album - Donna summer, chic, sister sledge all could've qualified.
The fact that Mariah and Whitney were not on this list makes me question its validity. I also don't think that Laruyn hill should be number one even though Miseduation is an amazing album, Thriller will always be better.
i dont think the list is that bad but i think some popular artist especially of today (cough cough taylor swift) were added so the younger generation finds the list more relatable even though they had absolutely no business being there
I wonder if part of the reason MIchael Jackson's Off The Wall is kept off the lists is because of the stigma you mentioned about "disco" albums & these list creators not wanting to include anything they consider "disco"
They might consider Off The Wall to be a disco album & though it has some great dance songs including Rock With You & Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough it really is a shame if honoring that album is avoided because of it being considered a disco album, not being Bad or Thriller or any other reason. I agree that Off The Wall is a great album & deserves way more recognition than it gets!

Gotta be honest there isn’t one Ariana grande album that isn’t filled with skips or filler let’s be real I like Ari but nawwww

Why oh Why is MJ's off the wall thrown to the side....AGAIN?
Agree! Most of the re-records on 1989 tv did not hit compare to the original
TLC Crazy Sexy Cool should’ve been on there .. the first Diamond album by a girl group
Out of all the R&B albums they ranked Frank Ocean as the highest one! It’s such a boring body of work to me when there are dozens of R&B albums from the 90’s & 80’s that are objectively better than
massive attack, robyn, and daft punk getting a spot works for me
this is mostly because i'm a fleetwood mac fan, but their 1987 album tango in the night could've been in the 90-100 spots
Putting SOS on here and other super recent, uninspiring or ground breaking albums instead of Teenage Dream, or anything by Mariah, Whitney or Alicia Keys is wild
The fact that there was no mariah and fiona...
No Mariah, No whitney, No brandy. Blonde is not even better than channel orange to me
Yes I’m so glad honest mentioned songs from the big chair such a goated album that’s still very influential today
The way I was in agreement until 1989, the original album had a chokehold on 2014/2015 so influential. I hear the point on the re-recording and was probably a political choice but i do feel like it’s the best Taylor’s version anyway
