absolutely Thanatos', it brings a sort of "you can't escape!" vibe you don't hear anywhere else in the track, with Ares' coming at a close second because it sounds like skeleton metal, and i can be a big sucker for that at times.
fun fact: all climax sections have the alarm. I.E. The beginning and end of Artemis and Apollo, Ares, Thanatos, and also the Finale. They're just quieter in some segments due to mixing being hard with so many instruments.
"What a terrifying marvel of engineering. Draedon's specialty always lay in the machines of war, but these are immaculate. His bold claim that no God can match his work is, however… incorrect." - Jungle Tyrant, Yharim "Finale" segment is my favorite! Great job once again, we are so back!
THIS IS SOO GOOOD!! I'm so glad you took your time on this piece, it's purely peak! Your iconic style and riffs + the uniqueness this piece has from the others is sooo... good TT
This certainly stands out among other fanmade Exo Mech themes, the pacing and instrumentation really sell the feeling that these machines rival gods in power. Even the intro is full of this power and confidence.
Hahaha No. A lot of fan composers use them as much as possible. I used them in a few bits here, a few bits there. I also only use the bells from Touhou in this one.
I had to really search to find a motif I could reference for them. Here's that story: Thanatos, Devourer, makes sense. Ares, Intimidating, makes sense. Artemis & Apollo, I had no idea. I did some lore searching, and settled on Cryogen due to the fact that an entire page of the Ice Lab's Draedon Log is on Permafrost, and his connection to Calamitas. Permafrost was more of a tool for wisdom and guidance, similarly to how the Twins were used for intel/spying. There's also Permafrost's connection to Calamitas, and the fact that Apollo was supposed to match Calamitas' flames. It was either Cryogen, or Calamitas, and Calamitas is literally the next or prior boss, and is overused, meanwhile Cryogen sounded really cool, broke up the scale for more variety, and is underutilized in the soundtrack. So a combination of slight lore reasons, and practicality.
This is amazing! You deserve way more recognition for this piece. By any chance could you tell me the name of the map/world being used in the fight? I see a lot of people using it yet never mention what it is anywhere.
I remember that the platforms are from the Infernum trailers or something, and they credited them in the description. I just extended those platforms and put wayyy more of them in a world arena.
In the fight I was using the Seraphim, and Wraithwing primary (both rogue) Normally I go melee but the Dragon's Rage is so good against Thanatos that I switched to get footage
@@doddged2 That explains why I didn't recognize the projectiles. I'm a summoner main that primarily focuses on crowd control and evasion. I usually don't use rogue weapons past pre-hard.

@doddged2 Hey, if it makes you feel better, I have a VERY good laptop, and it maxes out at about 35 FPS when ALL spawnrates are disabled, so the fact that you can get anything over 20 during this is actually rather impressive by comparison.
