Georgia Engel died the same year as Valerie Harper. She was the youngest of the MTM Show cast. I loved her as Mamie Sue on Hot in Cleveland!! She brought so much to this show. I was always happy to see her in an ep. My fave one was when she was in the vet's office & said she saw a rabbit with, "Hideous, crusty eyes." LMAO!! I loved seeing her & reunited with Betty on this show.
Hot In Cleveland will always be my favourite sitcom. It's funny, sad, tear-jerking and laugh-inducing show that really helped me have a good laugh every week. These girls will forever be an icon in proving that age is just a number. I miss them so much...

What a sweet ending to a heartwarming show. I don't think I caught the last season or two, so I don't recall ever seeing the finale. That reminiscent scene on the plane really did bring me to tears. It's so obvious that Valerie adored Betty and felt that every moment working on this show, with this amazing cast, was priceless. She seems just as sweet a lady as Mel.
Same here. My late husband loved the show, while I missed a lot of it. I guess it will always be available somewhere.

I cry in that final scene on the plane every time I watch it. You could tell this cast really loved each other. The way Jane says, "I've never met a Betty I didn't like," & then Melanie's speech. I felt like I was watching Valerie say good-bye, not just Mel. Also, they say the characters "still get together every Wednesday" & I know that the 4 actors continued to get together every Wednesday. (IDK how long they continued that.) I also know that Valerie said she was "in denial" about the ending of the show. And I love that scene of them on the swing. Again, those lines were so heartfelt. God, I'm such a sap.
@@DonnaBrooks No. You have genuine Empathy and love. Those things open us up to hurting, when we see others are. That's not a bad thing. It helps us not be a**holes.
The ending hit differently and definitely harder after Betty's passing 😢

I wished that Melanie would have ended up with Alec. I loved them together. Season 4 is my favorite Season and I hated that they broke up 🥺
This show had such great guests stars. Comedy legends! I only wish Bea, Estelle, and Rue were still around at the time to guest star as well.
Funny how that little baby smiles at Betty. When she's grown up, she'll probably think, "Wow, I was with Betty White on screen in one of her last roles..."

I never understand why this show had to end after just 5 seasons? I love this show 😍😍
It had 6 seasons, but I think they ran it in such a way that it only was in production for 5 years.
This , this is how to end a beloved series, the RIGHT way. Fans want a happy ending and we got it with this show. I love those last 30 seconds, knowing they were talking about doing the show. 😢 Yes, I’m crying again.
Thank you ladies. This is truly one of the best sit coms written. Sometimes, I wish certain shows wouldn't end. This is one of them.
Wow! How cool for Joy to say "I feel young and hot" and then it transitions to her sitting with her husband and new daughter.
I just binged this entire show the past two weeks. I LOVE these ladies and this show. It brought so much fun and laughter to my life. ❤ What a wonderful show with a great message of love, friendship, and finding inner peace and happiness. Also, it just so damn funny! I miss them… I watched the finale last night. 😢
I never saw the last episode of Hot in Cleveland and was so thrilled that they ended the show on a positive note. Betty White is a gem in this show and seems to keep the other girls in check. I love Valerie Bertinelli . She started on One Day at a time and also did Touched by an Angel which I love. Wendi Malick is wonderful as Victoria. Jane Leeves is the best as Joy and her rivalry between her and Betty (Elka) is priceless! Why was this wonderful show canceled?
I didn't know she was in Touched By an Angel! I only knew her roles on One Day at a Time and 2 TV movies.
This is the way you end a tv series I would have to say one of the top ten best endings in tv sitcoms history or at least all the sitcoms I watched

Loved this show binged watched it all last year on prime video.
I didn't finish the series when it came out because by the time it was finishing I was in my junior year of high school going in to my senior year of high school and I was very focused on my studies at the time
So seeing this ending really made me cry and I'm going through a very rough emotional mental health situation with a cyberstalker, and seeing all my favorite ladies again in the last 5 minutes of the show I never finished because of my studies, made me feel very emotional that Victoria and Joy and Melanie and Elka all got the happy endings they deserved.
Though I'm still a bit sad Happily Divorced didn't get an ending like this, I LOVED that show!
But I'm still happy at least Hot in Cleveland got the ending it deserved.
They broke the 4th wall with that betty joke with betty white.
And there is even more to it because Elka is basically a Polish equivalent of Betty. They are both diminutives for the name Elizabeth.

I like how it ended as it started.
Except that the 3 of them were transformed, esp. Joy & Melanie. They weren't the same people that landed in Cleveland. That's important.

He has not really worked much. This was aired in 2015, he was kicked off his show in 2016. Just don't be a bully.

Thankfully, the show received a nice send-off.
I’m going to miss Valerie Bertinelli and her acting screen appearance forever at least same thing for the girls they’ll be another comeback until next time 😭😭💔

Not now. Not so soon after Betty's death. I think that would be too hard on the cast & not enjoyable for the audience until enough time has passed for them all to move past grieving that loss.
I hated to see this show end. It was so so funny. But it definitely had the most heart warming finale. It brings tears to my eyes every time.
I was sorry when this show ended. It's the only sitcom I've liked in ages. The 4 ladies (& Georgia Engel) were comic gold! So many sitcoms I've seen just aren't funny to me. But I've watched some eps of this show over & over countless times. "Win-Win" and "A Box Full of Puppies" were especially funny. I was just re-enacting that scene for someone last week in which Victoria says, melodramatically, "So this is how it ends.... Turtle rabies." LMAO!!

During its run, I moved to an area of the world where I cannot get Hot in Cleveland. I have a question: did Elka soften over the six years?
Well, she was sitting with Joy on the plane. That tells you something. I know I wouldn't fly for hours sitting next to someone I didn't like, cute baby or not.
@@DonnaBrooks, I almost retracted my question because I saw excerpts from a few other episodes when Elka was as caustic as ever. I too would not sit next to someone whom I didn’t like or at least respect. So I’m glad Elka softened, at least for the plane ride.

Love this show and great ending but am I the only one wondering what a 5 year old is doing celebrating hey 5th birthday with a bunch of adults and old people?
Maybe they gave her two parties one with her friends and family and a smaller private one with them. The creator and writer of the show wanted to show that they are all still in each other's lives and all love each other so much and I think they did a fabulous job tying it all together

It's not that there are old people there; it's the lack of children that is odd. Why would a 5-year old want to sit around a big table with her parents' friends instead of being with other kids? She certainly doesn't look like she's having a good time. She looks like she's on sedatives. LOL She didn't even smile or get excited about the cake. But it was a way to show the passage of time & that they continue to all be close. And to have a bunch of extras (other kids with their parents) there would distract from the main characters. People would wonder who everybody was!
I was SO glad they included Mamie Sue in that scene! I loved that character & loved seeing Georgia Engel on the show.
Why do a lot of TV sitcoms end with the character having/getting a baby like: Frends/King of Queens/ Rules of Engagement/My Wife and Kids.....
Mike and Molly did both at once.
Also big bang theory has done this with penny.
These kind of send-offs usually mark end of an era in people's real lives, same goes for the fictional characters
It’s teaching us baby ends fun lives lol
Because that's what most of us wish we had: everything sorted, and ready to give someone else their start. Many of us never get that.
